For a pole under $100, I don't think it gets any better. Compared to the other options in its price range, this is built better and made with better materials. It's simple, lightweight, and easy to operate. I've been using this with my S-Mic 2 and Rycote Lyre shock mount and it's been very reliable so far.

The build quality of this boom pole is top-notch, thanks to its carbon fiber construction. The material strikes a perfect balance between strength and weight, ensuring stability during extended shooting sessions. The foam rubber padding on the handle adds a touch of comfort, making it easy to hold even during chilly weather.

With its telescopic design consisting of five adjustable sections, the boom pole offers excellent versatility in terms of length. Whether I need it short at 29.33 inches (74.5 cm) or fully extended to an impressive 9.84 feet (300 cm), it adjusts smoothly and locks securely in place with the aluminum ringlocks.

The boom pole's flexibility also extends to its compatibility with different accessories. I can easily attach microphones, small cameras, and even lights using the screw caps provided. However, it's worth noting that the weight capacity is limited to around 4.41 pounds (2 kg), and I've noticed some instability when carrying equipment near this limit.

Though the cable management system is functional, I do wish it had an additional joint at the back for better routing of the cables. This would have made it more convenient to manage the cables when adjusting the length frequently.

In conclusion, this boom pole is a reliable addition to any audio bag. Its durable construction, comfortable grip, and versatile length adjustment make it an excellent tool for run-and-gun audio and video recording. What's great:
- Lightweight carbon fiber material
- Solid feel and well constructed
- Included adapters for 3/8", 5/8", and 1/4" threads should fit virtually all mic mounts commonly available
- Included carrying bag
- Included shoulder strap for boom pole operation

Room to improve:
- Included carrying bag is barely long enough to hold boom pole, and could be longer to keep a mic clip attached to the end of the boom pole
- No internal XLR cable makes cable management a chore, and similarly priced aluminum boom poles come with built-in XLR cables

Overall this boom pole is well made and lives up to what it was designed to do. The materials all feel like very high quality. The locking mechanisms are solid and secure.

The only areas where I would improve are:

1. No built in XLR cable - This pole was not designed to have a built-in internal XLR cable, but if you're shopping for a boom pole, I highly recommend getting one with a built-in internal XLR cable instead of running an XLR cable down the outside of the pole. An internal XLR cable makes cable management so much easier, especially if you plan on using this out in the field where you might need to frequently expand or collapse the length of the boom pole. For a little more money, you might find a similar boom pole with an internal XLR cable.

2. The included carrying bag is nice, but it is barely long enough to fit the boom pole. The threaded end sticks out the opening of the bag, so it's not fully protected. Or if you look at it the other way around, the bag doesn't protect the pole from hitting and scratching walls, doors, cars, or whatever might be around you while you're carrying the bag on your shoulder. Since the bag isn't long enough to cover the threaded end of the pole, the bag won't protect your mic clip if you leave it on the pole when putting it away in the bag. I wish Neewer made the bag a little longer to be able to keep the mic clip attached to the pole when transporting it. I own other Neewer products, and the carrying bags are usually the shortcomings where they didn't think about how customers will use their products, and they didn't give thought to designing the bags around the use case.

But these are two things that aren't core to the product, so the mic boom pole itself is great. But you might prefer one with an internal XLR cable, and you might need to buy a different bag for carrying this pole with the mic clip attached.

I actually previously put together a little broadcast studio at my previous company until the psycho CEO decided to blow up all the good things going on and get rid of anyone more competent than her (everyone), but that is besides the point. In that studio, I actually had a Neewer boom that was made out of aluminum or a similar thin metal. That boom was very good, but due to the materials did have a little flex when fully extended.

This carbon fiber boom pole does everything that previous pole did but in a much lighter, classier, and more rigid package. It is excellent.

The pole extends with a few simple twists of each silver nut, pulling the carbon fiber section, and tightening back down the nut. Simple.

When fully extended, it definitely seems to be just short of ten feet. Due to being lighter than even the previous aluminum pole, it is pretty easy to hold at a height. The carbon fiber material keeps the pole from bending even when fully extended, and extra bonus - it looks really nice with prismatic effect in the light set off even more against the silver nuts.

In addition to this, the pole comes with some velcro straps to make it easier to hold the pole extended for longer periods. It also comes with a bag with a velcro pocket to store the extra straps. Very transportable.

Overall, this is a very nice boom pole. It is worth the premium.

Für mein Foto-Equipment suchte ich noch nach einem Mikrofon Auslegerarm und entschied mich für diesen von Neewer. Denn von diesem Hersteller habe ich schon einiges und bin bisher damit immer sehr zufrieden gewesen. In einem Karton verpackt wurde der MS-300C Mikrofonarm geliefert. Er war in einer praktischen Trage- Aufbewahrungstasche mit Anleitung, Schultergurt, Kabelgurten und Adaptern. Die Tasche hätte etwas länger sein können, aber das war für mich zweitrangig.

Wie gewohnt war alles in Top Qualität. 3/8 Zoll Anschlüsse, bzw. Gewindebolzen mit zusätzlichen Adaptern, von 3/8 zu 1/4 und 3/8 zu 5/8. Somit gab es keine Anschraubprobleme. Der Schultergurt ist praktisch um die Hände zu entlasten, sodass sie nur zur Führung des Mikros eingesetzt werden, denn das Gewicht sitzt auf der Schulter. Mit 3 Kabelklettbändern kann das Mikrokabel gut am Arm befestigt werden. Blöd nur, wenn man zwischendurch die Länge ändern muss, aber dafür habe ich eine Lösung gefunden. Einfach ein zweites schmales Klettband (3x) an die bisherigen befestigen und die Durchführung fürs Kabel größer anlegen. Klappt wunderbar ;)

Das stufenlose Verstellen der Länge von 74,5cm bis zu 300cm funktioniert mit den 5 Elementen einwandfrei. Die Verschlusstechnik ist sauber verarbeitet und griffig, zum Lösen der Verschraubung. Das Kohlefasermaterial ist robust, leicht und widerstandsfähig, auch gegenüber Feuchtigkeit. Die maximale Belastung von bis zu 2KG ist völlig ausreichend. Außer Mikros hatte ich bereits meine ActionCam und mein Gimbal auf dem Arm fixiert, was einwandfrei funktionierte. Das sah schon fast aus, wie Drohnenaufnahmen aus geringer Höhe, in diesem Fall von etwas über 3m. Denn mit ausgestrecktem Arm und meiner Größe kommt da einiges zusammen ;-)

Alles in allem ist der Mikrofonarm top, dank Polsterung auch gut in der Hand. Schön griffig und rutschfest. Die Drehverschlüsse funktionieren einwandfrei und ich bin mit diesem vielseitigen Arm sehr zufrieden und kann den MS300C uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Toller, wertiger, haltbarer und praktischer Ausleger.
