- Under Deck OasisAfter nearly two years, I have finally hit my limit and am writing to share my experiences with the Under deck Oasis company. The installation of my system cost 15K dollars. One would assume a purchase of that size would be backed by a warranty and work force that could substantiate the cost. Well, not the case, I have had nothing but problem after problem. Frustration after frustration. Based on my experience, there is no such thing as a warranty, just install, take your money and run. Due to the way the underdeck system and my deck are build the drainage was run for part of the deck toward my home. As a result, my first problem was a 16 foot hole in the basement where the water from the under-decking ran into the bathroom fan vent and filled the pipe leaking until it collapsed the ceiling. They did respond on this...the run off issues were corrected at a visit by their technician, but the ceiling was never addressed or even discussed by the owner. I have corrected most out of my own pocket, 2200.00 so far, however then another ceiling collapse occurred which a plumber and HVAC rep both concluded was residual water from the initial leak. (460.00 for them to evaluate for other potential sources). That hole has yet to be corrected. While they were there an attempt was performed to correct the below issues. These additional issues included leaks from both multiple installed panels and the gutters, the support beams, and one of the light fixtures. I have had now a total of 2 visits, with no actual success at alleviating the issues. I have requested 5 more times for a technician to come and correct the issues. I'm now not event getting the courtesy of an email response. So after nearly 2 years, a leaking, ceiling and now further damage to the property under the ceiling, I have taken it upon myself to fix these issues. The continued issues with the leaks between the standard stacked 2X12 beams I have corrected on my own with a wrap of flashing on both acting like a gutter. Not perfect but at least not leaking into the center of the space on the furniture or people. The gutter leaks I had to reapply a gutter calking to alleviate. And unfortunately the light leak I have not been able to correct. I have already lost one ceiling fan, and due to the leak am now loosing one of the leather couches to mold from the moisture. All in all, their ineptitude has cost me an additional 1600.00 conservatively and hours of frustration. I am throwing money at a poorly installed and defective system. I have had three other underdeck ceilings with two other companies. I have never had the amount of problems, or lack of customer service or follow up. I have never felt so cheated and disappointed in a purchase. I am sure there are some good stories out there, but if I ever had to do this again. I would 100% choose another company. Hope this helps

We chose composite with aluminum rails. They also fixed a leak into our house, by replacing some baseboard. We’ve been trying to repair the leak for years and never would have been able to do what they did. It was a tremendous relief to finally have a fix. Also, they assembled a steel roof, aluminum gazebo kit we purchased. We have never worked with a company that was so professional, does fantastic work and completely cares that their customer is satisfied. We truly enjoy our deck now and highly recommend this company. If we need work on anything else in their area of expertise we would not hesitate to hire again

"Finding a good, reliable contractor is a bit of a crap shoot especially when you’re looking at a major home renovation and investing a lot of money in to that project. Many contractors get a reputation of being unreliable, shows up late if at all on the dates & time promised, poor communication, only work a couple hours then leave the project and worst of all don’t do take pride in their work and the quality is not what you paid for. You can do your due diligence by check references; BBB complaints; state licensing; State AG’s office of complaints; read customer comments on review sites and then pick a few to interview. Still, it’s no guarantee you’re going to get a “good one”. You hire them then hold your breath. We just went thought all of this for a total kitchen remodel (floor up). After going through all of this we found a gem in American Made Contractors and Scott Padgett. Our projected started 7 months ago with research and after we selected Scott, his communication MONTHS before the project started was superb. He was a resource we could use as we went through the planning stages and selection process. We probably talk to him 2 times a week during this and then almost daily as our demo day approached. He and his hand selected crew showed up when promised (for various phased), worked all day, cleaned up before leaving, found and fixed things that were discovered, give critical feedback on decisions during the project and took immense pride in his craftsmanship. Scott is a master carpenter and been at this for 37 years and it showed. He brought up additional ideas as the project progressed and incorporated them in to our kitchen. Just as important my wife was completely comfortable with everyone that came to the house. Our new kitchen is beautiful! Scott does any kind of home renovation. If it’s a bathroom, kitchen, home addition, room alteration etc… he’s done it. If you’re looking for someone you can trust with your project, trust with your hard earned money and trust the project will be done right, look no further. Finally, our new kitchen is beautiful!
