I have a new circuit box that is not labeled correctly. There were 2 circuit boxes combined into 1 when my kitchen was renovated. I am converting from a 2 family into a 1 family. The Inspection Bureau supervisor informed me and the contractor the ekectrition should’ve checked and labeled the circuits correctly. Disputes getting a phone call from the Inspection Bureau and several emails I cannot tell what circuit to use to turn off or on the electrical outlets, lights and some appliances.

The project began 11/30/15 and was to last 5 weeks. As of July 2016, work remained undone. It started when we stuck with our choice against our better judgment. During our first meeting, the owner made comments we found unprofessional and off-putting. While at the wholesaler, he kept pushing flooring we did not want. It took three times and a firm response to end it. It's our position we were told in advance the cabinets would be inspected to ensure none were damaged. That did not happen, and a damaged cabinet led to weeks of delays. The owner claims we insisted on skipping an inspection that would've taken minutes. When the new cabinet arrived, we were told they would "drop everything else" to finish our project. But their regular pattern of showing hours late or not at all with no courtesy call continued. Not raising this issue early in the project was our second mistake. Our last mistake was paying the balance due early as a favor. We agreed to have the work finished on Jan 19th, 2015, but needed to reschedule for Jan 21. No one showed or called yet again. Up to this point, we had not seen everything else being dropped to get our project completed, and my patience reached its end. I contacted the owner, in writing, and firmly but professionally expressed my frustration asking him to keep his part of the contract. I also pointed out the project was entering its 9th week. The owner's response was that he had other commitments. He specifically acknowledged the delay caused by the damaged cabinet put them behind, and he closed his response by saying he would like the benefit of the doubt (after having paid for the project in full early as a favor to him). In my second text, I told him the no show no call was unacceptable. The owner's next response began, "the job getting prolonged is no more our fault than it is yours" and again identified the cabinet as the source of the delay. He claimed they were trying their best to get us in, and said "If that's not good enough for you good luck with another contractor." He concluded by saying that there was no reason to "get inappropriate like this and make things awkward." WHAT PROFESSIONAL SAYS THESE THINGS?! I sent a final text to ask if our expectation for a courtesy call was unreasonable. Not once did he acknowledge, own up to or apologize for the no show no call. I then contacted the gentleman actually doing the work. He eventually came to do what we thought completed the project, but determined after the fact certain punch out list items remained unfinished. In the interim, our sink leaked badly on one side, which was subsequently fixed by the same gentleman. Then it started leaking on the other side. I was told it would be addressed and the grout problems would be fixed as well as the other punch out list item. Two follow-up messages over three weeks, and no response. My last request was simply to let me know what grout I needed to buy. Still no response. I gave up and fixed a poorly installed disposal myself. Since then, the side that first leaked after their SECOND installation began leaking yet again, and we now have water damage to our new cabinet. We received a letter threatening to sue us for libel after posting a review elsewhere. We let Hollon's attorney know the claims made were not factual, including a claim that delays to the project were the result of our decision to do our own painting and to order pendant lights. We re-painted the room well before we contacted Hollon (we have before, during and after pictures) and our lights were on site well before all unrelated work was completed. He already twice admitted the cabinet was the reason for the delay! The owner also claimed the project took about 4 weeks, yet here we are months later with work left undone. Through his attorney, I proposed to remove our review in exchange for a note of apology and remediation of the remaining problems. The attorney indicated Hollon agreed to our proposal, but he never followed through. Guaranteed for life? Won't rest until the customer customer is satisfied? We believe an organization of integrity and emotional maturity would swallow its pride, own its mistakes and live up to is guarantees.

I appreciated the 3d rendering I received before we began the project. Although they guided my choices, I was free to choose products from anywhere. I am very happy with the results. They were great to deal with.

Contractor showed up as promised and did the job per the specifications.

It took them a long time to get the project done. Luckily it was an outside porch and it was winter time so I wasn’t in a big hurry.

They never got back to us. I emailed and called them to get a response. We got nothing. I am okay if you are not interested in doing the work. Respect is everything.

it went well for what it was. my mistake - i told them not to break up the pool first, and then i believe their mistake; they added clay in the fill, so a year or so later it flooded [ because the small holes i'd made were plugged by the clay] and they didn't care. couldn't get them to come back and give ideas about fixing it, etc. so then i had an ice-skating rink or a mosquito pond, depending on the temp. but the guys were really nice, and the work that was done was really good. so if you know exactly what you want, you will get it. they had done other smaller jobs for me and did great on those. apparently, the pool was just overwhelming to them. i'm Deaf and so we communicated by email, which went well until i wanted follow-up. so i would use them if it was again a smaller job that i knew exactly what i needed. the pool was a never-before, never - again kind of thing. had to hire some berszerker dude who suffered but partially re-did it the right way. dug down in the muck with progressively larger equipment, broke up the entire floor of the pool, and resettled the fill. one person. in about 2 weeks. was amazing.

Glen Hollon and his team were excellent to work with. Glen provided a great insight due to his extensive experience and seasoned insight. We transformed an old space in and around an 80 year old Colonial into a new & updated kitchen, den and master suite. We have been very happy with the work and would recommend Hollon Construction again!

They are really good. They are very attentive to what the customer wants and they go overboard to make sure everything is done well. They return calls right away and they are pleasant to have around the house.

The service went fine. I liked the design but I ended up not having the project done. They did exactly what the deal stated. The designer was not pushy and presented a nice design. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

They never followed up with me. I emailed and called them but never heard back. I would never recommend them to anybody.

I had wanted him to provide me with the dream kitchen plan design. They gave me a nice set of plans and did a good job. It was a good deal.

Purchased Big Deal 9/21/11 - Only $50 for custom kitchen redesign, measurements and full set of plans! I was pleased with the consultation. The contractor was very helpful and even looked at and discussed other areas of the house. It took a while to get the plans. I even received a call from them asking if I had gotten the plans, which I had not - got them after that. Unfortunately, the plans showed changes we had not discussed and did not include the most important change I wanted done. Therefore, I did not proceed. This form doesn't quite work for my situation so here's some clarification of my ratings: Price - A for cost of Big Deal Quality - A for consultation; C for plans that did not include most important change requested Responsiveness - C - changes discussed not included in plans Punctuality - A for quick set up of consultation; C - took a while to get the plans Professionalism - A for consultation; C - that they called me to see if I had received plans yet I was very impressed with the contractor and hate giving him a poor rating. I think they would've done a better job except Big Deals often inundate contractors and they frequently can't handle the volume of responsed they get from them and end up disappointing consumers.

I've been trying for weeks to get someone to repair some loose siding before it was blown off completely. Nobody was interested in returning calls or said they could be out in 3 or 4 weeks. Well, 4 weeks later, no sign of them. I joined Angie's list this morning ~11:00 and found a contractor within just a couple of miles of my house. I messaged them via Angie's list and they responded within minutes. I received a phone call a few minutes after that and was told Richard would be out today. Richard called early afternoon and said he was finishing up and would be at my house in 90 minutes to 2 hours. He showed up a little early, saw the problem and went to work. I didn't know he was here until I heard the pounding. In less than 30 minutes the work was done, Richard was on his way and I could breathe a sigh of relief. I can't tell you how frustrating it has been trying to get someone to do the right thing. Hollin did it the old fashion way, with customer service.

Getting them to come out - was painful. They came took some quick measurements and listened to a few of my wifes ideas. That was the last we heard from them. I was furious - but didnt follow up because I felt like at that point they clearly werent interested in the remodeling job or even submitting some ideas on how to go about the work. Extremely Disappointed.

Hollon construction was a great company to work with...from design to finish. I have a beautiful kitchen and my son has a fabulous "man cave". I have a fairly small house and I am a person who pretty much lives "paycheck to paycheck.".They treated my project like it was worth a million dollars. I would use their services again!!

The Great! Nick started right on time and was very knowledgeable and wasn't condescending which can happen when contractors meet with women. He took the time to hear all the projects we were looking to do and asked a lot of questions to make sure he understood. All in all a very good meeting and we looked forward to the estimate in a week. The Okay The estimate was about $15,000 more than competitors but it was very thorough so it may be the best representation of the actual cost when other providers may add on additional costs after work begins. The Bad The real problem was the estimate didn't come until 4 weeks after the meeting (3 weeks late!) with no communication as to why it was so late. Just an email that said "Attached is proposal, let me know if you have any questions." I expect more from a company that advertises they have the 2011 Super Service award from Angie's list. If I was handing in a homework assignment 3 weeks late and didn't have an reasonable explanation, I would get a failing grade. Why We Didn't Use Hollon We decided not to do work with Hollon due to the lag between when the estimate was promised and the actual delivery and the fact that there wasn't any communication as to why it was delayed so much. We felt it would be indicative of working with them and didn't want to pay for little to no communication on a $65,000 project.

I called to get an estimate on some work. The person on the phone took my information and stated someone would contact me tomorrow. I had to call back the next day and ask if someone was still going to contact me. They apologized and said that they would make sure to have the estimator call me back. Still haven't heard from anyone there.

We decided not to move ahead with the project. The price ranges were reasonable & consistent with our area, though.

The project took 2 1/2 days from start to finish. My wife wanted the bathroom down time held to a minimum. The crew arrived everyday on time and worked non stop. This was a complete tear out of the bathroom. Darwin was very responsive to our questions and help us in choosing the right products. The crew cleaned up after themselves everyday. It's been over a year and the bathroom has held up great. It gets used alot. I would use them again for a project.

They were very helpful. They came up with a design that we will potentially use in the future.

I did not have any work actually done by this company, because I cannot get them to call me back! After their office told me someone would call me back about a kitchen remodeling plan, finally someone called, found out I was not at home and said, "OK, goodbye". He did not attempt to discuss it with my husband-who had answered the phone-and never called back. I called their office again, again was told someone would call. They did call this time and left a message with a phone number. However, I have called this number repeatedly, left messages repeatedly, and have heard nothing! I guess they have so much business they don't need mine.

They were very confident and I would like to use them. They estimated the costs to be $50000. They gave me a big brochure and explained about their company. The guy was very knowledgeable and none of the companies do that.

My wife and I have used Glen Hollon of Holon Construction for three significant projects. Hollon Construction updated two bathrooms (the master and main) and replaced the original banister and balusters on our main staircase. Working with Glen was easy. While we were not his largest client he treated us and our project as though we were. He and his team?s attention to detail was outstanding and their ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances (which always occur in renovation projects of any size and complexity) was outstanding. While his team of tradesman and craftsman did an outstanding job on their own, Glen provided the final signoff before calling the job complete. During his reviews he found issues that my wife and I would never had seen in regards to the fit and finish of the final project. His team of professionals was courteous, respectful of our house and time, talented and, without exception, trustworthy. We enjoyed working with each of the individuals Glen brought to the project. They took the time to answer our questions, consider our suggestions, and in some cases teach us about their trade. I was further impressed by the fact that every night the project site was cleaned before they left so that it minimized the impact on the surrounding areas of the house. I also believe that his practice of not billing in advance for the work is an outstanding differentiator from the other contractors we interviewed. We have had issues with trades/contractors before where they collected a significant portion of the fees up front and failed to deliver a quality project on time. This was not the case with Glen and Hollon Construction. As with any project of the scope and nature of these three, there will be delays encountered (parts not received, wrong parts shipped by the vendor, owner change orders, etc.), however, Glen was proactive in communicating with us about the status of the project and identifying updated time horizons and if in the cases of change orders, the impact on the budget. Overall and considering that we have lived with each of the projects for at least 12 months, we are still extremely pleased with each of the projects Glen and his team completed for us and have had no issue referring our friends and neighbors to him when they need work done. As we have experienced his ability to deliver high quality results, on time and on budget at reasonable prices, set him apart from other contractors we have used in the past and those we considered for these three projects.
