Recent Review: I called Construction Masters for an estimate on my kitchen. They sent Tom out and I was surprised at the time and attention that he gave me. He designed a new layout for the kitchen cabinets on the spot, gave me a ball park price and then came back another time to present the finished proposal to me. I hired him on the spot and they started work the next day. The kitchen turned out beautifully, and the edge detail on the mantel is amazing. I didn?t think that we would need new molding after the installation of the new floors but it just didn?t look right so Tom told me to buy the material that I wanted and installed it at no extra cost. Good, honest people. It?s very refreshing to see good old fashion service today. Thank you Construction Masters.

Recent Review: It was rather odd. I called for a quote, they showed up and did an estimate and we had what I thought a solid conversation on what I wanted to done, and took his suggestions into consideration too. Then, radio silence. They said they would get me a quote the following week and nothing. I followed up with an email and call because he sounded like he did quality work and knew what he was talking about, but no response back. If they didn't want the job or couldn't take the project, they could have said so. Just flakey to have no response.

Recent Review: Showed up on time and did a wonderful job on the fireplace and sealed a crack we had in the back of the fireplace. Cleaned up any messes and left it clean. Job well done.

Recent Review: Where do I begin here? First off, I contracted Manny through Angies List. Initially, I was looking for someone to just do recessed can light installation for the house I just bought here in Cypress, CA last year 2019 (1960 built house). Out of the 7 people I contacted, Manny was one of the very first of 3 contractors who responded to me and scheduled a visit to quote promptly. The other two who eventually came to give me a quote told me I would need more lights than Manny had quoted and the difference in pricing for the job varied dramatically. Not only that, it took them 3-4 days to get back to me. Manny, however, was able to tell me ON THE SPOT the day he came to quote exactly what could be done and how much it would cost after seeing the house which also included the cost of wiring and patching the holes up to look original. Honestly, I was skeptical about this at first as this is definitely outside the norm for contractor quotes, but WOW as I surprised when he not only kept to his word, he did an amazing job! I had over 52 recessed lights installed in my home, all done by Manny himself! Not only was it the perfect amount of lighting (the amount the other contractor’s had said I would have needed would have been WAY EXCESSIVE), once the work was done, you couldn't even tell were the holes were made. He patched, painted and textured them to blend in with the original look. Awesome job on this. After seeing how amazing his work was, I felt like this was my chance to ask about some other things I had on my checklist. Since the home had a dated interior design (1960’s home) I wanted to have a more modern look, so I decided to ask him if he did flooring as well. The second floor had not been touched much by the previous owners and it had old shaggy carpeting so I wanted to go with laminate flooring that matched the rooms on the first floor which were slightly more modern. Because of the attention to detail he put with the installing of the lights and the patching of the holes to ensure they were as perfect as possible, I decided to go with Manny on this as well when he said he would be able to do this. Keeping up with my due diligence, I had contacted 2 other flooing contractors through Angies List for flooring specifically to compare with Manny’s quotes. However, to my disappointment and irritation, neither of them got back to me or followed up after they came and measured my flooring. Why bother going through the trouble of coming and giving me a quote and then never following up? This was clearly a sign as Manny had quoted me a great price and, once again to my astonishment and delight, he completed the job himself and finished it in about a week. The floor looks amazing and he even took the time to replace the old floorboard nails screws which removed all the squeaks and creaks. He really went above and beyond on that one. After being impressed and amazed now on two different projects that I had asked him to complete, I felt like I could trust him with even more projects on my checklist of home improvements and began to ask him about other projects he could work on which as on an even grander scale. The home had an old brick fireplace that I wanted to be replaced with something more modern and Manny told me he could do it (at this point, I would have been more surprised if he said he couldn’t do something!). Even during COVID, he was able to get schedule an appointment out to home showroom that sold materials for home renovations (don’t worry, the showroom had very strict COVID procedures, taking temperatures, enforcing capacity and providing masks!) to look at Quartz slab designs and get quotes for the work. For this job, Manny had his crew who specialized in fireplaces to come to my place and finish the job. The result was even more amazing than I had envisioned. It took about 1 week for the slab to be cut to the specifications to frame over the old fireplace which they readied by removing all the bricks and measuring what was there and just one day to install the fireplace itself. Now, everyone who comes to my place always compliment how stunning it looks, especially those who saw what it looked before the upgrade. The difference is night and day in my living room now, thanks to Manny and his team. It doesn’t end here either. After fireplace project, I decided to update the flooring for the kitchen, bathroom and entry way on the first floor. For this area, I decided to go with porcelain tile. Manny gave me a great quote on this and surprisingly beat the price per sq. ft of the tile's that I had researched myself. I couldn’t miss out on this so I once again contract him for this project. For this job, Manny brought in one of his crewmembers who had over 14 years of experience in flooring complete this job! Without a doubt, of all the jobs I contracted Manny to complete, this is the one that still leaves me in awe to this day. They asked me what pattern I wanted, how wide I wanted the grout lines and what grout color I wanted and provided me with suggestions and advice. After completion, the floors looked beautiful! To go even further, there were a couple tiles that the I personally didn't see any problem with, but his flooring expert didn't like the way it turned out, so he took it upon himself to remove the tile he just installed in and redid the work. To add to this, there were a couple tiles that had a mark that I was unable to remove so I let Manny know and he had these replaced right away! After this glowing review, I should note that these projects were not completed back to back. Manny’s services are in high demand (this review should be a small insight and understanding as to why that would be the case), so all of these projects were completed from the span of November 2019 to June 2020. So this one review is for various projects over the months that he completed to my immense satisfaction. Manny and his crew are the type of people who take pride in their work and even if YOU are satisfied with the work, if they see some flaw, they will take it upon themselves and fix it. Also, if you are not pleased or if there is something you want changed, they will make sure that you are happy with the end result. I would, without question or hesitation, recommend anyone who needs work with their home to work with Phaseworks and talk to Manny! You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Actually, I take that back…you may be disappointed when you find out that he is booked for when you wanted him to start because he’s such a sought after contractor! And with the results he provides, I can completely understand why. To this day, I still message Manny to see if there are other projects he can work on. Manny is always honest and if there is a job he can't do, he won’t BS with you and let you know if someone else would be more suitable for the job. I plan to continue getting work done at my house through Phaseworks. Again, I HIGHLY recommend working with Manny, he is a great, honest guy and he will not let you down. Thank you again Manny!!! P.S. Unfortunately I never took before pictures, but I was able to pull some from the home listing sites, luckily they still were there and not taken down when I bought the home. Anyways, these are 100% accurate before pictures, besides the fact that they had the furnished look on some sections. I also will add the after pictures so you can see the difference!

Recent Review: We just completed our remodel with Moriah Remodeling & Construction and are walking away happy customers and deeply conscious of the heart they put into our home and project. For context, this was a mid-sized remodel of 2 bathrooms, 1 bar, 2 fireplaces, 1 mudroom and recessed lighting throughout the house. This is also our forever home, so quality of work was of utmost importance. This project spanned over 5-6 months. Timing was really driven by us and delays in materials due to the pandemic or changing our minds. There were no delays on FVR’s side. I had the joy of working with Eran, our Project Manager, Guliano. When they say customer service and communication are at the center of their values and goals as a company, I do agree. In terms of customer service, this was always at the center of the project. If it mattered enough to me, Eran and team would make things happen no matter how small or large. Of course, with all projects with numerous parties, there are competing incentives, but I always felt like we settled at a fair compromise and making me happy was the most essential goal of them all. This means a lot to me because over the course of the project we discussed things from them helping me with a surprise water leak from a faulty gutter (not their fault) to me literally marking areas where I wanted even the smallest corner re-grouted and they fulfilled their promise. In terms of communication, they are also top-notch. A key reason why I chose Moriah Remodeling & Construction over other companies was my first meeting with Eran. He is a straight shooter and always sticks to his word. This is an art. Eran always set clear and realistic expectation upfront on what would delay us or add costs to the project. If he agreed, he would fix something he would. Eran and his team were also very possible and quick to communicate via chat or phone. I always felt very supported because they always made themselves possible. Remodeling your home is an emotional journey, so this is extremely important. Lastly, I would also say that I walked away feeling like working with a team with “heart.” Eran and the team became people I enjoyed seeing and interacting with regularly. They are very professional and know that their job is not simply to remodel a house, but that their job is to create a home for a family. I don’t know of a more important calling than this. Thank you Eran and team for all you did for our family and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Recent Review: They do beautiful work, and their pricing is within the range of reasonable. But they are the most non-punctual, unreliable -- and, frankly, you cannot rely on the veracity of what they tell you -- when it comes to showing up. It was a project of several weeks, and I would sit all day waiting for the worker(s) to arrive. Day after day after day. I would phone and ask, "Where is the worker?" They would respond "He is on the way." I would sit and wait. Only by day's end would it be clear that the guys never were on their way. This happened again and again and again. They missed more appointments in one month than all other people in my life, combined, had missed in the prior ten years combined. Other times, their guy would show up at 1:00 or 2:00 pm when he was supposed to show at 9:00 or 9:30 or 10:00 am. The overall job should have been done by mid-August. Instead, they ran into September, and my September already was jammed with appointments that I had rescheduled because of all their missed dates in August, and I had to tell them that, now, I could not sit around and wait for a month for their next guy to show up. The thing that really got me was the lack of shame, the lack of even apology for continually misleading me on the phone, literally telling me things that were not true about when people would be coming to work, tying up my days, having me wait day after day after day after day for a guy to show up, finally. I have never encountered anything like this. And the darn thing is that they do really nice work . . . when they show up. So, if you have 7 or 8 weeks available for a job that they tell you they can do in 2 weeks, I heartily recommend them -- as long as you have an extra month open after those 7 and 8 weeks (or, to play it safe, maybe two extra months open). Otherwise, you better just arrange to get a job that allows you to stay home all day.

Recent Review: The company provided an estimate on a full fireplace remodel. They were slightly above the other companies in terms of cost. They were punctual, cordial and explained what they could do in detail. Part of our remodel was to have the fireplace reduced in size (mantle was at 6 ft and we wanted it dropped by at least 12" so we could add a new a TV set above it). The other part was to remodel it so instead of a brick look, it had a new travertine facade. We just couldn't easily mesh our plans with what the company was able to complete. So we went with someone else.

Recent Review: Wow! what can I say Ralph was amazing and his work is the best anyone could find. We started with just wanting a mantel. Our fireplace was straight out of 1982 and was the ugliest part of the house and we hated it. Ralph came by and worked with us to come up with a new design (we did not know we had options). Once he started the craftsmanship was awesome he turned our outdated fireplace into something that looked like it was ready for a town and country photo shoot! I cannot recommend him more, you will do yourself a disservice if you do not consult with Ralph before any Fireplace work. It is so refreshing to see someone who is not only a master craftsman but an artist as well.
