Nashville Fiberglass Shower Repair

David did a great job and now I have new tile, higher toilet, new cabinet, counter top, mirror framed and tiled shower built and bathroom painted. Love my new look.

I did research for this project on Angie's List. Contacted three of the A rated contractors and got bids from all of them. One Call was very competitive on their bid. David came out to do the estimate and had it to me in less than a week. They did some lighting work for us and we decided based on that and based on the pricing to go with them on the shower remodel. They were very responsive to all my questions regarding the project. David communicated quickly through email. They scheduled the project starting on July 1. They were prompt each day arriving when they said they would and completed the project within the time allotted. They were very responsive to our concerns and kept the place as clean as possible. The crew consisted of David, his son Noah and Justin. There were additional crew members on Tuesday when they were installing the tile. They were all professional and approachable. They seem to be a very happy work group. It was not unusual to hear singing coming from the bathroom. Justin is a musician( imagine that, in Nashville!!). He did an excellent job of installation of the tile. David did all the plumbing work which appears to be fine. We are waiting on a glass shower door so we have not used the shower yet. One thing to understand when doing a project like this is that it will disrupt your life and there will be dust and dirt everywhere. People will be in and out of the house. They did their best to minimize any of these issues. The tile work is excellent, the project was completed on time and at a minimum disruption. I will consider One Call in the future.

Waste of my time! I made an appointment for a plumber to come give an estimate to replace a cracked fiberglass tub with another standard tub. The time set up was 2-4. At 3:15 a rep called and asked to change the time to 4-6 pm. The plumber was supposed to call when on his way. The person did not, and showed up at 5:15p. He spent 5 minutes looking at the tub, took 2 pictures and said it would be $900 plus me supplying tub and fixture, or $2200 if they supplied the tub. He was not able to answer my questions about fixtures or estimate about doing 100% of the job, versus me doing the demo and prep and them just installing the tub, surround, and fixtures. He wouldn?t/couldn?t answer my questions about installation. He was not able to answer my questions about the valve, and why it would need to be changed when I was going from a Moen fixture to another Moen fixture. He just kept saying "well the one we use has a warranty." He spent 5 minutes in my home. I don't think he was even a plumber. He said I would have my quote via email in just a few minutes after he called "his supervisor" A few minutes later I get an email with a quote for $1800-2800. The quote was poorly written and looks like he filled it out with text message. What a waste of my time! I called the company back that night and asked for a supervisor to call me. I was told one would call me the next day, and no one called. I received a call the day after from some customer service rep asking me if I was ?happy with Hiller service." I told her no, and informed her that a supervisor was supposed to call me back about the issue and didn't. She said she would have someone call me. I would not risk using HIllar for any service.

Great. They were not only on time but called requesting to come earlier, performed a great job on both fixtures and didn't leave a mess when they were done. I have used them twice now for two different houses and although they are a bit high, their overall performance is worth it. I highly recommend this company.

It was awesome and the result is excellent in every way. The technician was very polite, competent, and concerned about my satisfaction throughout the process. He called prior to every visit (it took 4 days - several hours each day) to let me know he was coming and always told me what to expect prior to leaving. I would recommend this company to anyone. They also come out for a free inspection and estimate prior to setting up the work appointment.

HE SCRATCHED OUR SINK WHILE CUTTING A PIECE OF RUBBER (HE COULD HAVE CUT THE OTHER DIRECTION OR PUT A CUTTING BOARD UNDERNEATH. HE ALSO SAID HE WOULD REMOVE THE OLD SINK, BUT DID A LOT OF COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW MUCH WORK IT WAS AND ABOUT HIS POOR HEALTH. I WISH HE HAD JUST SAID HE COULDN'T DO THE JOB. HE ALSO PROMISED TO HAUL IT AWAY OVER THE PHONE. BUT WHEN HE GOT THERE, HE WASN'T SURE HE COULD GET SOMEONE TO HELP HIM REMOVE THE CONCRETE. I INSISTED, AND HE DID FIND SOMEONE, BUT THE PRICE WAS RIDICULOUS, AND I SHOULD HAVE JUST DONE IT MYSELF.

We purchased an investment property and needed to have the cabinets refaced and the fiberglass tubs refinished prior to renting it. We contacted Bill at Surface Medic and set up an appointment for the day we closed on the property. He was on time and had a nice selection of cabinet surfaces to choose from. We got estimates from a couple of other providers, and Bill definitely had the largest selection of samples. He did a nice job of explaining the refacing process. He also gave us a bid on refinishing two fiberglass tubs that were in good shape, but their surface was dull and rough. We subsequently ended up asking him to also refinish the bathroom sinks. We chose him because we liked the idea of using one person to do the cabinets and the tubs, and his price was competitive. At the time he was offering a 10% discount if you mentioned his website. He was cheerful about giving us the discount. We paid half the cost of the job when he ordered the cabinets, and the other half at the end of the job. Bill had told us it would take about 2&1/2 weeks for the cabinet materials to arrive and 2 days to install them. In the interim he completed the bathroom work. The cabinet materials arrived on time, and he promptly set up an install date. As promised, they were installed in two days. We purchased the knobs, and he put those on at no additional charge. At the end of the job I noticed that one of the cabinet surfaces was chipped. Bill agreed to order another piece to replace the chipped one. It took about a week to get that in and install it. We're very happy with the way the cabinets look. Refacing is a cost effective way to give your kitchen a face lift without the expense of installing new cabinets. We would use Surface Medic again for cabinet refacing. My only complaint was I wish he had done a better job of cleaning up after he finished. Each time he left we had to vacuum the kitchen and clean out the sink. We were not as happy with the tub/sink refinishing. We expected a smooth surface, but there are small bumps that are very noticeable when running your hand across the surface. We've had tub refinishing done in the past by another provider, and the quality was better. In hindsight, we would have used Surface Medic for the cabinet refacing but not the tub refinishing.

I was so thrilled with his work. He came out and he wrote out all that had to be done and called back with a quote and a day he could do the work. He was able to do the work while I was at work so that was a huge plus. So happy with back door that I asked him to come back and also install a screen door. I can't wait for my next project. He is definitely on my call back list! Thank you!

Bob was a great partner every step of the way. He suggested money-saving tile outlets, gave me clear estimates and stuck to them, found ways around difficult problems, communicated with me proactively, and performed excellent work. Bob's experience with carpentry, plumbing, and tiling served him well in taking charge of these complex projects. He also helped me out of multiple jams. When my water heater broke, he installed a new one in two days for far less than a big-box store. When I locked myself out of my apartment (twice), he dropped what he was doing and drove over to let me in both times. I now have two quality, great-looking bathrooms and a reliable handyman to call on for future projects.

All in all I will use them again. The process was a little bumpy at first -- i have never hired a carpentry company and was solely reliant on what i found here at AL. Basically it's 50 percent to start, and 50 percent upon completion. Lamar came out to figure the estimate which i got next day or so. I reviewed, accepted, returned a signed estimate, and it was a few weeks before I could get on the schedule. I asked front-desk Andrea about signing a contract and was told that for 'small' jobs they typically do not document a contract. I really suggest they come up with more comprehensive general terms of service agreement that they offer everyone, or that they print on their estimates, to cover both parties. Renovation was about 4 weeks to completion. After demo then I was not on the schedule for week, and we had Thanksgiving holidays, so work slowed for a week. During this time the rotted floor was fixed and the new framing was put up to house the tub. Meanwhile I asked for (and Casey put in) more 2x8s running perpendicularly to the floor joists to support the bigger tub. Plumbing was modified to fit the new tub. After thanksgiving, and particularly after December 1st, things started really clicking -- floor down, tub fixtures done, toilet and vanity reset (my originals, not new purchases), drywall done, and painting done in a matter of 3-4 days. Last thing was the ceramic tile, which took an afternoon. Casey's response time via text or call is excellent. The team members each stay his own lane. They clean up after themselves--daily. I bought the guys pizza and that day's crew was SO diligent about cleaning up their trash that there was no proof pizza had ever been delivered! It does take a while--longer than my naive self would have expected. Crew members were driving from Gallatin to Ashland City and understandably work at my house usually didnt start til 9 am. Your experience might be different if you're closer to Gallatin. Crew members also have same-day assignments in other towns too, so they have long days. As to access, we used a realtor's box so the construction members could let themselves in my house.
