Blue Diamond did an excellent job of replacing our very old garage door and frame. They did the whole project in one day. They were careful and detailed in their work. The pricing from Blue Diamond was 50% the less than the highest other bid .They had a very positive attitude and worked as an organized, harmonious and efficient team. We recommend them with out reservation.

Install or Replace a Garage Door Opener

I purchased a smart garage opener in 2022 but couldn’t find anyone to install it. Although I had always heard commercials for AngiesList, I had never used it myself. I finally got tired of people standing me up, so I finally decided to try Angi. I posted my job, and within 15 minutes I was contacted by Kris at Blue Diamond. I told him what I needed, and he said he would be able to install that day. His price was $100 less than the other quotes I had gotten and he specialized in garage doors only. He came to my home that afternoon, and installed the opener in under 90 minutes. I am pleased and happy with is work, professionalism, and customer service. He didn’t leave behind any garbage at all which also a sign of superior professionalism. He didn’t smoke, eat, play music, or talk on the phone while he was at my home. I nearly forgot he was working. The only thing I have to say that was an inconvenience, and I wish I had known prior to his arrival, is that he only accepts cash. He doesn’t accept credit cards or any other digital money transfers. However, Kris waited patiently while I ran to the ATM for his money. Call Kris at Blue Diamond if you need your garage door /opener serviced or replaced. Thanks Kris!

We hired them for new garage doors. Chris and his guys did a great job. It was done neatly, and in a timely manner. Chris and Anthony are both good workers, respectful, and listens to the customer. My husband and I are very pleased with the new garage doors. It looks great, and we canâ t wait to be outside this summer!

The work iis satisfying. at first, but not anymore. , Kris is not reliable regarding appointments. I had a garage opener installed and garage door repaired a few months ago. I had him left a slight opening at the door so I may pass an electric cord â temporaryâ through the door. I no longer need the â temporary opening at the bottom of my garage doorâ 4 days ago, I have been texting and calling him to drop by for an garage door adjustment. Each day he claimed he would show up, but didnâ t. Each day I had arranged for someone to wait â All day for himâ so as not to miss him, but no signs of him. I just want my garage door to close fully! I am still waiting for the adjustmentâ ¦.. Very disappointingâ ¦â ¦ I can not say I was surprised at his unreliability. He had forgotten to install the door opener key pad during the installation. It took a few appointments for him to finally show up to install my â keypadâ

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. While HomeAdvisor will continue its background check program to the extent possible, these closures could prevent some background checks from being performed. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. As always, we encourage consumers to perform their own research, to the extent possible, before hiring any business.

Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm local licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
