The American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) is thrilled to announce that its 78th Annual Conference will be held in-person at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown on Wednesday, May 10 through Friday, May 12, 2023. Don't miss this opportunity to participate in the premier forum for the exchange of advances in public opinion and survey research.

Thank you to everyone who responded to the COVID-19 health survey sent to 2022 AAPOR conference attendees immediately following the event.

The survey was sent to the 1,139 attendees and consisted of a single question asking if the attendee tested positive within a week following the 2022 AAPOR Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The survey was completed by 742 attendees, with approximately a 62% response rate. Of those responses, 111 attendees (15%) indicated they tested positive for COVID-19 when they returned home from the event.

As AAPOR begins promotion for the 2023 annual conference in Philadelphia, we hope potential attendees can use this information to make an informed decision on attendance.

AAPOR Welcomes the Establishment Survey Researcher Affinity (ESRA) Group!

The purpose of the ESRA Group is to provide a community of scholarship for those engaged in survey research where the unit of analysis is other than an individual or a household. This could include institutions – like businesses, schools, and hospitals – as well as official records and other non-human sources of data. This group is intended to include researchers from all aspects of establishment survey design, and will hold semi-regular conversations about the current state of the field, innovative research in the works, and discussions about the future of this kind of surveying.  If you are interested in joining this new affinity group or for more information, please contact Melissa Cidade.
