Los Angeles Central AC System Installation

Service was excellent. We were given a window of 2 hours, but would call if they could come early. They called early and were at the house just as they promised. Service was performed quickly and efficiently. They found a starting capacitor on the blower motor had failed. He had the part and was able to repair the system. He did say that if the motor is going bad the new capacitor could fail and then we would need to replace the motor. Only time will tell. They were recommended by a coworker and the recommendation was spot on. I called a number of companies from Angie's list, but due to the heat wave all three companies were busy and couldn't come out until next week. I was able to schedule an appointment this week with OC plumbing heating & A/C and now the A/C is working great! Erick was honest and seemed to know about repairing air conditioners. I asked about a tune up and he said due to the lateness in the season he recommended we wait until next year. We will be definitely calling them back next year and will likely have them perform some upgrades to our system.

Just wanted to say how happy I am that I chose Mega Clean Air to install my new central air conditioner and heater. Our old system completely died and when we started getting quotes we were in shock. However Mega Clean quoted approx 20% lower than the average we were getting. Of course I did lots of research and found nothing but good reviews for them, so we went with them. When they arrived the crew was friendly, professional and courteous. The job they did was way above and beyond what I expected. They not only professionally installed the unit, they made things look 100% better than they ever did. They installed a new fuse box for the unit outside and wired it to the unit clean and nice looking, replaced the wood platform under my furnace & water heater, insulated the area around the unit in my garage so it is not only insulated, but looks great, even where they insulated the pipes going into the unit they took the time to make sure all the insulation was cut exact and looks great. They put in a new digital thermostat and went through all the functions with my wife and I making sure we were completely comfortable using it. And when they were finished and left my garage was actually cleaner than it was before they got there 🙂 Again I just cannot say enough about how happy I am that I chose Mega Clean. I would and will recommend them to family and friends.

Great job. Larry Rodriguez (the company President) came out personally to review the project and give me an estimate to replace my old central air conditioner and furnace (vintage 1970's). This was followed promptly by a formal written proposal with a timeline. The pricing was competitive, and I had a good sense that the company was solid. The work was done as proposed, and all of the installer technicians seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. The administrative staff in the office was very responsive and helpful. The job was done on time and on budget and I am very happy with the end result.

One of my tenants called and said the heater is working, but the air conditioner is not. The package unit is on top of the roof and almost 20 years old. I was afraid it would cost a lot to repair or need to be replaced. I called JB3 HVAC and told them I would tell my tenant to call in and schedule the repair. My tenant called and the following morning the air was working. Yaaa... JB3 HVAC could have charged a lot, but only charged to repair the broken wire that causing the problem. The housecall and repair only cost me $75. From now on I am going to call JB3HVC for all 5 of my houses.

It was a really hot Sunday and the air conditioner wouldn't turn on. We called Around the Clock and they came out that day. He said it was a blown transformer. He had the part and fixed it in about 2 minutes. The total cost was right around $300 which seemed a little high considering he was at our house for 10 minutes. He also didn't itemize the receipt but I think a transformer should be about $50. Anyway, the air conditioner worked and we were grateful for that. For me, this is a lesson - I should have asked him why it was so much...maybe because it was Sunday? Maybe that's what everyone charges. The air conditioner worked all this summer too, so overall I was pleased with the job done.

GREAT!!! Quote process easy and clear. Great communication and prompt. Installers showed up right on time and finished in the time originally stated and they CLEANED UP everything! Really professional staff all the way around, from quote to finish including helping us turn in all the rebate paperwork. Would highly recommend.

Good and immediate service. Ricardo is, punctual, knowledgeable and nice. Ricardo responded immediately and came over a few hours later , ready to work (compared to other service providers I had contacted, who responded by Email requesting $100 plus just to show up for "evaluation"). The problem was that the A/C blower fan has been working continuously even when the thermostat controller is in "off" position. He replaced the internal electronic board with a new board and change some of the gas line pipes into the furnace unit, to bring them up to a modern safety code. The price is a little steep but the customer is happy.

On a very hot Saturday our AC was blowing hot air. We called Around The Clock as they worked for us before. They arrived within 2 hours, as promised. It was a common part that failed and he had one in his truck. It was fixed in less than an hour, so less than 3 hours from calling them to repairs completed. They are always polite and helpful.

These guys are great. They replaced the entire hvac system in two days. What really impressed me was their replacing one bathroom vent, which was an odd size. This had Abbey traveling around LA to find a new one - and he did! Abbey was very helpful during the evaluation of my old hvac system and ideas on what system to replace it with. He has a lot of experience and is completely dedicated to his work! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs hvac work done.

I emailed for initial contact on a Saturday and was fully expecting not to hear anything until Monday... Wasn't I surprised when I got a call an hour later? Incredibibly responsive and accommodating ; we set up an inspection and estimate appointment in a few days. Bill-the owner came himself. He was thorough in telling me what I needed and more importantly what I didn't. The estimate was $3000 less than the closest estimate I had from all the "majors"... I signed the contract and installation was scheduled the following week. The two guys showed up right on time and I immediately knew they were good people when even the dog liked them. (she doesn't like practically anybody). They got right to it and were amazingly attentive to protecting floors and walls, removing debris, and if they moved something, they moved it back with the utmost care. They were here a day and a half and I am thrilled with the results. I haven't gotten my first electric bill yet, but monitoring the kw usage on sce.com, it's going to be saving me money too over the fans and room air conditioners I had been using. Wish I had done it sooner.

We have used Kilowatt in the past (a couple of years ago they had previously installed a central furnace and new ducting) so we trusted them to install a new central air conditioner, condenser and coil for my mother-in-law. Dean, the owner, is really customer-focused and his price was reasonable. He really takes good care of his customers. For example, he had his technicians do a routine maintenance on the furnace at the same time of the air condtioner installation. He even agreed to come back to do a final inspection and confirm everything was installed properly and he also brought a case of extra air filters with him that we had ordered. Now that's what I call great customer service! I noticed the excellent work and attention to detail (extra thick insulation for the copper tubing, leveling the condenser because the ground was not level, etc.) that Dean and his employees put into a job. He doesn't just want a sale, he wants a customer for life.

It doesn't get better than these guys... Ted was very helpful and informative when he provided the estimate. The crew was full of guys that cared about their job and did a terrific job. I have referred them to everyone I know... and now you, Angie's list!

The service went well. The tech was personable and friendly. He went about his business in a very professional manner. But other things that happened combined to annoy me with this company that had nothing to do with the service being performed. My first attempt to make an appointment was not input into the appointment system and I was left waiting for a service that was never to happen. So, I called to find out what happened and ended up making another appointment. This time the tech was on another job and couldn't leave because the clients a/c wasn't working and the client was an elderly person. He apologized and offered to still come by but a bit later than planned. I agreed to this but it turned out to be much later than planned so I ended up canceling the attempt to come by because it was so late in the day. The third attempt at an appointment was successful and the service was performed. I was happy. But when I went to pay for the service I presented a coupon from their website for a discount on "service". But the tech couldn't take the coupon because he said that this was not a service...it was a "maintenance". A service, he explained, is basically where a repair was performed. Now they did have a coupon for a "tune-up" on their website. And this was explained to be where the annual maintenance was performed on either the a/c or heater but not both. So, a service is a repair and a tune-up is a maintenance. OK then......I got it. Live and learn.

They got back to us promptly. They were easy to reach when we needed them. Their prices are their services were competitive to companies we compared them to. They have been in the business for a long time. They came recommended by friends.
