    Everything went very well. We had a hiccup here and there, but no job is without a few hiccups. Daniel and his team were always conscientious about tracking debris in/out of our home. They were mostly there when they said they would be, and the work is absolutely fantastic. Our basement was raw space but when they were finished, we had a full bathroom, and plenty of space for watching movies, working out, shooting pool, and storage. Fantastic job

We met with multiple contractors and they were the only one that could not only promise completion within a few months, but also provided us with a really great financing option.     Matthew was very professional, pleasant, and a great communicator. From the day before the project, he reached out to get background details on the project as well as to request more detailed photos so he can plan day one. He arrived right on time from day one, assessed what he needed to buy, made a trip to get the materials, then worked into the night. He was tasked to build a custom drywall soffit around a motorized movie screen bracket that was hanging below a drop ceiling. I was concerned as to how obtrusive this low overhanging soffit would look, but Matthew’s soffit looked clean and blended in with surround walls by structure and color in the end. He also kept his work area very tidy each day and paid great attention to details esp when it came to the painting and even the crisp look of the drywall edges where the soffit met different surface textures of walls (fireplace brick, wood panel, drywall). He was very efficient and finished the overall project a little under the originally projected cost! Would definitely hire this company and esp ask for Matthew on my next project! Thank you

    It went very well. The process involved taping, mudding and sanding over two days to allow for drying time. Elvis showed up promptly, completed the work efficiently, and cleaned up before leaving the site. I am very satisfied the the quality of the work. I would hire this contractor again.

    All in all we are generally happy with the results of the work. Communication could, at times, have been more responsive and management of the different trades could have been better. I had opted to paint the finished space myself and so they did not seal the moulding edges and nail holes which was disappointing as I expected the space to be delivered ready for paint, but ultimately my questions and concerns were addressed and the space looks fantastic and we are very happy with the end results

    Working with Homewise Remodelers was an amazing experience from bid to finish. My wife and I had just bought a condo 4 months prior. We had bought it knowing that the kitchen and flooring needed to be remodeled. We had never gone through working with a general contractor before so we meticulously researched. Everyone told us that contractors were unreliable, never finish on time, and expect to pay up to 20% over the initial quote. Going in with this expectation, I spent hours looking for Chicago contractors on Angie's List and Thumbtack. We settled on 7 different contractors to get bids from. The entire job cost was quoted to us from $30,000 to $80,000 depending on the contractor. Mirek (Homewise Remodeling) was head and feet above all of the other contractors we interviewed in every way. He was the fastest to come in to survey. He was very big picture and honest upfront. His communication skills were unmatched by all of the other contractors we met. He was meticulous with detail and talked us out of doing things in a more expensive way. We received computer comps from the 3 final contractors we liked. Only Mirek's had every single detail we discussed and was spot-on. The others missed half the things we said and worse, their measurements were off. We initially were thinking of going with the cheapest contractor but quickly realized after talking to them for a week that they were extremely unreliable and were going to likely overcharge things on the back end and not do things correctly (which I found was the case in many of their reviews on Thumbtack. They either asked for more money or quit on the project halfway through). Homewise Remodelers quoted less than the 50th percentile of quote prices. So Homewise was not the cheapest choice but also definitely not even close to the most expensive quote we got. But based on what I know now, it was the best choice in terms of being done right, timely, with the highest quality, and with no surprise costs. You get what you pay for. When it came to doing the job, Mirek used very thorough and timely subcontractors for flooring. Mirek would frequently show up at our condo to troubleshoot things with the cabinet installation guys. We discovered that the floor-to-ceiling height on one side of our kitchen was 1.5" off from the opposite side. Mirek planned with the carpenters to sightly grade the cabinets across the room in such a way that the counter-tops ended up perfectly balanced across, and appeared flush from floor to ceiling as if the condo was actually built level. The attention to detail was astounding from start to finish. Homewise Remodelers finished our project 1 week early, for exactly the price quoted (plus $1000) for changes we wanted mid-project), and it came out better than we imagined. We had such an amazing experience with them that 1.5 years later we knew we had to hire them to do our bathroom renovation as well
