Same Day Service Company Inc
Our dishwasher wasn't cleaning dishes very well. Same Day Service did have to come out two times to repair two different parts of the dishwasher. I might not have done the repair if I knew the number of parts needed at the onset, but the diagnosis was challenging, and I don't think they could tell the number of problems the first time. We ended up replacing a small motor and then a diverter. Their repairmen were all very friendly and courteous. They also did a good job of reducing the cost of the second repair since they had been out so recently. They repaired a two-year old Kenmore Elite dishwasher, and they clearly are much more complicated machines than they used to be and not made as well as they used to be made.

Affordable Appliance
Very pleased. I requested service through Angie's List on a Friday night from a number of companies. Affordable Appliance called me on Saturday and scheduled a technician for Monday. They came on Monday and diagnosed the issue quickly. Unfortunately the needed part is discontinued. I really appreciated that the technician seemed bummed that he couldn't fix it for us.

All Brands Appliance Repair
Apparently my 7 year old dishwasher was never installed correctly by the builder! All Brands had to re-secure it by re-installing the backets and and test that it was level and was draining properly. He saved me from having to purchase a new one. I asked for advice regarding another project and he willingly provided the best overall solution that would cost the minimum amount of time and effort. I would definitely use All Brands again and would highly recommend them.

We love Boston & Cambridge Appliance Repair. They have fixed almost every appliance in our house. They are responsive, prompt, professional, very knowledgeable, etc. And they only charge $60 for a service call (during the week...I think it is more on the weekend). So if they don't end up having to fix anything (if for example you need a plumber instead of an appliance repair person), it is only $60 for them to have come out. It is nice to have found such a great reliable company.

We had a problem with our dishwasher (standard error code on the dishwasher let us know what it was). We called Fridgidaire and they assigned this guy to show up at our house. He didn't have the part on the first visit and said he would have to order it and return to install it. After a month of calling and trying to get him to return he never came back to re-install the part. He runs his business on his cell phone and doesn't return phone calls. His voicemail is full so you can't leave a voicemail. Kept saying he would return my phone calls but never did. I must have called this guy at least 100 times with no luck. Of course Fridgidaire was no help either. Extremely unprofessional and unorganized. If you actually want your appliances fixed definitely don't go with this guy.

I called on Wednesday requesting diagnosis and service of the dishwasher. Confirmed for 1-5pm on Friday. After waiting 2 days without a functioning dishwasher and rescheduling several meetings in the office so I can be home on Friday afternoon, I only found out that the technician they sent only fixes washer!! The technician was kind to help call the service line, and the earliest another technician (hopefully this time is the right person who can fix dishwasher) is the following Tuesday afternoon. I will then have had to reschedule two days' meetings, and letting go opportunity when I could be serviced sooner and correctly the first time by another service provider. When I spoke with the person on the phone who helped create a new profile with the correct service need this time, I asked if they could offer expedited service and send someone earlier than Tuesday, because it was their mistake creating the incorrect order. The response I received was "well I don't have anyone available before Tuesday." I felt no empathy or apology, and it couldn't have made me feel worse from all the time wasted. I truly hope that on Tuesday, Factory appliance can send the right technician and help fix the problem. Will update my review then.

There is a service fee of 80 to look at an appliance, and then 40 for each additional appliance. This was explained to me up front. The first time he came out we could not access the dishwasher, and we found the microwave to be unable to be repaired. He expressed that because he was unable to look at the dishwasher, he would charge me only the 80 to look at the microwave and when I could make the dishwasher accessible he'd come back out to look at it for 40. About a month later, he came back out to look at the dishwasher and found it could not be repaired. At this point I was charged the full $80 again. I expressed my confusion about the previous price but was ultimately charged $80. It was a frustrating experience to pay full price for two service calls and end up not getting anywhere. I am unlikely to use their services again.

Recent Review: Very professional and left the kitchen area cleaner than they found it. I had sent them a picture of the manufacturer's info plate on the side of the door, and they arrived with the proper replacement part for that model. Another vendor had been there 2 hours and failed, but Appliance Works got the job done in an hour. Appliance Works will be my first call the next time I need an appliance repair.

Recent Review: Jim Richard was very pleasant to deal with and very professional-he showed up exactly when he said he would to uninstall my old dishwasher. The job ended up not being quite as easy as it appeared because the previous owner had cobbled together a kick plate to secure the dishwasher and he had used contractor's adhesive. He then came back after the new dishwasher was delivered and installed it. The invoice was more expensive than I thought it would be, given the prices which had been listed here on Angie's List-so my one piece of advice would be to get an estimate first from him. He was at the house less than 2 hours(with minimal travel time)and used very few supplies since the old dishwasher already had the hook up installed. But I've had a number of plumbers out to fix things and he's definitely more thorough than others.

Recent Review: Overall fantastic experience with Arlington Appliance today. I called them yesterday because our dishwasher wasn't working. They were available and willing to come right away, but since today was more convenient for me, they came just when I said would be best. Dan, the service guy, was very friendly and pleasant, fixed the dishwasher right away and explained what the problems were, and how to check that it was working well now. No parts were needed, so we paid $89 for the service call, which strikes me as very reasonable. He also said that if today's fix doesn't seem to have solved the problem, after we run the dishwasher a few times, that they will come out and check it again for free. He gave me some tips on keeping the dishwasher working well. I can definitely recommend them, and will use them again in the future!

Came in, very professional, got the job done and then gave a tutorial for how to make the dishwasher work efficiency along with preventative maintenance tips. Recent Review: Dish washing machine was not working. Appointment was made to repair machine. Technician "repaired" the dishwasher, but one month later it was not working again with the same symptoms. They were called again - worker came out again and said they would have to order some parts. After about a month, I had not hear back from them so I contacted them to see if the parts were in. It took 4 to 5 calls to get an answer. (I asked repeatedly for a call back and NO calls from them.) They came back again, different person this time, and were not able to repair the machine. They again said that it needed more parts. Again, it took 4-5 calls to find out if the part were in. Finally, the part was in and an appointment was made. When they came back, it was the wrong part. So, we made another appointment. They got another part and came back to install the new part, but discovered that one of the earlier parts installed the the wrong one as now the door would not close. So, we scheduled another appointment to come back with the correct part. It's been about 2 months now and I have not yet heard back from them. In the meanwhile, I contacted Yale Electric, they came out within one week, repaired the machine and indicated the the wrong parts were used on the machine and certain clips that were suppose to hold down the hoses were not installed causing the door to stick and not close properly.

Recent Review: My washer drum was shutting off after 20 seconds, and I couldn't get a load of laundry done. I considered calling Sears, but they couldn't come until a few days. I called "Brookline Village Appliance Repair", and he said if it was important, he could come today. Turns out to be the same company as "Fast Appliance Repair." I found that out later, but they are still local. Turns out a spring had come loose from the drum that keeps it in place, and the unbalanced load was causing the washer to shut off. Hameed fixed the springs, and made sure it was running. Also, he fixed the dryer sensor, which had broken off, and reconnected the loose wires and secured it. While he was there, I asked him to look at my fridge grate that had fallen off. He was able to easily glue the parts in place, and reattach it! I found him very nice, professional and helpful (he showed me how I can buy replacement parts for my old fridge!) I thought the overall price was fair, and he guaranteed the work - if the same thing happens again, he would come and fix it without charge. The only thing is that made me lower the "price" rating is that the coupon on his website was misleading. It said "$15 off", but he said that the coupon is for the second time you use the service, not valid on the first service. Of course, this was not in the details of the coupon, so I felt like it was a bit misleading, and should be updated on the website. Still, I was happy to find him, and happy with the service. Hopefully I won't need any repairs soon, but glad I have someone I could call if I needed to!

Recent Review: I phoned Garett to see if his company might be able to help with a problem I was having with my Bosch washing machine. I left a detailed message, including the model number of the machine. Garett returned my call within the hour to let me know that while his company did service some Bosch machines, this particular one was not in their repertoire. Given that many contractors don't return calls at all, I was impressed that he took the time to call me back even though he knew he would not be able to help. He was pleasant and clearly pays a good deal of attention to customer service. For obvious reasons, I did not work with One Call Appliance, but I would not hesitate to call Garett in the future based on my experience.

Griff arrived promptly and determined that the problem with my dishwasher was a bad touchpad (? - the thing where you press the buttons for the various dishwasher settings) that would need to be replaced. He had to order the part, and on the day he came back he called to let me know he'd be running a few minutes late. I mentioned that the dishwasher also wasn't cleaning dishes very well, so he took apart the bottom of dishwasher and cleaned that out, and he also spent quite a bit of time cleaning the inside of the dishwasher, while offering lots of advice on how to keep the dishwasher running well. I have used Griff in the past and he's always been very prompt, professional, polite, and helpful. He's definitely my go-to person for appliance repairs.
