Tomorrow will be a year since Agape, not me, called my remodel finished. I did not want to have to write a negative review, but this is my honest experience. Our kitchen remodel was going to be exciting, expensive (85k+), and stressful; we had not been through one, but we expected it. What we did not expect was the following issues outlined in this review. After vetting several contractors and being unsatisfied with their process we decided we might just sell and look for a home with a new kitchen. Then my husband came across Agape on the internet. I saw the reviews and thought they were worth a consultation. I read through most of the reviews, but it was not until I had big problems that I came across all important mediocre to negative reviews about the cabinets. Jerry and Jeff came out shortly after our request for consultation. I unequivocally stated to both during our initial meeting that there were two requirements that were the most important for me in a kitchen remodel. FIRST, I wanted quality cabinets and second I wanted symmetry. The original kitchen had custom sized cabinets but were of low quality, the drawer fronts were glued and stapled, and I wanted rid of them. The cabinet panels were MDF and had swelled from water absorption over the years. SECOND, because there were odd angles to the cabinet layout my second priority was bringing in that symmetry. My kitchen is not large and there were only to be 3 walls for which symmetry would need to be achieved. Cabinets. To my horror when the cabinets arrived I saw that the drawers were stapled and glued, just like the cheap cabinets I had just removed! But they charged for quality cabinets! I expected, as I had described in my first meeting with Agape, dove tailed joints and hardwood boxes and wood fronts. Jerry called me on my complaints about the poor quality of the cabinets. He was belligerent with me, and I later found out he called my husband and treated him the same disrespectful way. He shouted how dare I insult his cabinet maker as I had. I replied I did not even talk to your cabinet maker so how could I have insulted him? He rambled on in a condescending tone. He said that just because I had read something on the internet about what quality cabinets consist of, does not make it so. Oh yes, I found many insightful articles about quality on the internet and just because he failed to learn a low quality from a high quality does not mean the internet is at fault. His people, from my direct conversations with them, use YouTube as a reference and a learning tool also! Before I saw my cabinets, Jerry stated multiple times that the entire cabinets were made of maple. When I saw the drawings for the cabinets I saw that a cheaper wood was being used. I made Delaina aware of the situation and she followed up with the cabinet maker. It was not true; he did not build the entire box with Maple. I got the maple upgrade, but I had to pay extra for it as it was NOT included in the original price! I also paid extra to get a decent thickness of interior shelves for the wall cabinets and for adjustable shelving, although on one of my largest units, the shelves are made stationary in error. I had looked at over a dozen lines of kitchen cabinets, so I was intimately aware of the characteristics of quality. If Agape wants to use a lower quality of cabinets they should charge accordingly and inform the client! CUSTOM DOES NOT MEAN QUALITY! If I had known this about the cabinets, I would not have contracted with Agape. Jerry lied about the quality of the cabinets and he excuses his lie by saying the cabinets will last for years. Read on, it gets worse. Cabinet Caulk. Next there came the caulk, gobs of uneven caulk in the corners of every single cabinet and drawer front, turning the Shaker clean corners into a hot mess. The right thing and the logical thing to avoid these messes would have been to remove the cabinet doors and to have laid them horizontal on a flat surface to caulk them. A year later I cannot clean any settled dust out of the corners of the cabinets because of the soft, uneven caulk. That evening when I first saw the mess, I left a message that I did not want any more caulk on my cabinets. Jerry called me in a rage, telling me that I was souring the relationship; that I had hurt the painters feelings and the painter didn't want to return, and that I should wait to see the doors after they had been sanded down. The next day a new, young worker without cabinet expertise, was caulking the cabinets in the same poor manner Marc had, but I must add, being unskilled at it, he did a much better job than Marc. Later I overheard the workers discussing the problem. They said that Jerry or Jeff should have come to see the cabinets and should not have taken Marc the painters’ word about them. I was told by Jerry that he would discount the job by $5500 and I could get someone else out to paint the cabinets, good idea but there was no turning back from the caulk damage and, oh yes, Jerry reminded me that his contract stated if I did anything to slow the job down I would be charged $250 a day for that slowdown! Cabinet Paint. I was told to choose the paint for the cabinets which I did. Sherwin Williams color with a warranted finish, described to me by the salesperson as the best for cabinets. I presented my choice to Marc the painter. My husband and I are avid DIYer’s and we have painted countless homes. We had not however, any expertise with painting cabinets, especially those made of MDF. Marc said that SW was all about marketing hype, that what he used was the best. I trusted him. What I found out after the fact was that the paint Marc used was the best for him. He later revealed that SW paint was too thick for his sprayer and clogged it and SW did not deliver paint to him onsite. Before I discovered all this there was the next step. It started with sanding the cabinets with that ‘wait and see’ assurance that any excess caulk would be removed prior to painting. No, the caulk as I said was never corrected. It could not be, there was no possible way to recreate those crisp corners. And because the paint is not washable, all cabinets will have to be repainted as the paint is already rubbing off. Cabinet Sanding. On to the sanding after the 1st coat of paint. I came in to find another new person working on the cabinets, this time sanding over that 1st coat. The painter was between my job and a job in Coppell, which I was told by Jerry would not happen; that I would have people dedicated to my job. Marc the painter took more than a week on the painting. Three of those days were only half days and in the meantime to keep the project on schedule, I got another recruit sanding the cabinets. I found at the end of the day that the recruit was a plumber! Yes, a plumber who had no experience with finishing cabinets! The cabinet fronts were gouged with rough grid sandpaper and permanently scratched. The plumber only lasted 1 day with the company, no wonder, he was not hired to do cabinets. Not only did the deep sanding mar the cabinet fronts, but he did not know the basics of sanding, to do all the sanding in one direction! Marc repainted the fronts multiple times to cover the gouges, but they remain, albeit not noticeable to most. All this trouble because although I was told Marc was their paint guy who was going to do a great job, he obviously rarely has any need to improve his skills when the owner doesn’t even view his work when the customer complains but rather adamantly, without evidence, supports the painter. I am all for that but a customer’s complaint should be taken seriously especially when so much money is being spent. Finally, Marc commented in passing about how people complain that they just cannot get the cabinets clean and he chalked it up to poor cleaning habits. I soon learned that wiping the cabinets with a soft cloth, a soft sponge with gentle detergent will NOT clean the cabinets. To this day, the cabinet paint rubs off when I clean it. Symmetry. One of my two major requirements was symmetry. I communicated this not just verbally but visually. I painstakingly prepared exact measurements drawings of my kitchen and the new layout down to the inch. So, when I received the technical drawing from the cabinet maker, I reviewed them carefully. I caught two mistakes and they were corrected. However, sometime during the exchange of the drawing updates the cabinet maker changed a significant measurement and did not call it out to me in the change log as he did the others, and I did not see it. I discovered the error when I thought one wall cabinet looked smaller than the other, but I assumed it was the angle I was looking at it. Well out came the tape measure and no it was not. I was terribly upset, I never thought to get out my tape measure before signing off on the punch list. Looking back to that day when the cabinets were being installed and the tall pantry cabinet was, as I was told, made to narrow and a filler was installed, was that the bank of drawers and wall cabinet was 3 inches narrower than it should have been. This is one of many discoveries where I know I would have fared better, both quality and cost wise with semi-custom or stock cabinets. Basically, I have a bank of 4 drawers that are all too narrow to store what I had planned to store in it. My kitchen is a small 12 x 14 with 3 walls and they could not even get the measurements right! To correct it they should have taken the wall cabinet down, removed the base cabinet of drawers, the wall cabinet and rebuilt them entirely adding 3 inches to correct their mistake and it should have been done BEFORE the countertop, backsplash and under cabinet lighting was installed! Then I would have had the symmetry I paid for! Less than a year after the completion of the remodel, this is the mistake I gave Agape the opportunity to fix and Jerry said it was 'too much work' to correct! Thus, my late review. Purchases by Agape. I wanted a furniture grade top for my island, not a butcher block. But Agape told me that the price from the cabinet maker to build that type of top would be cost prohibitive and that I would pay half that amount if I went with the butcher block at a quote of $800, I agreed. Then the butcher block came in at $1200! So not only get I not get the top I wanted I paid much more for something I did not want. Delaina sized the marble counter tops and determined I needed two. The two countertop slabs were ordered and when it came time to place the templates on the slabs for my desired layout, I found I only needed one slab but could not get my money back for the other. I asked the fabricator to keep the remaining leftover at their shop until I could use it, which is a lot, otherwise they were just going to throw it out! Expensive Change Order. I wanted 10-12 inches of counter behind the kitchen faucet for herb planters and designed to achieve that by having the kitchen sink cabinet protrude outward. To add that extra depth Jerry suggested I install a new window to be flush with the counter instead which would mean a taller window but that would be better than having the kitchen sink cabinet protrude out those 10-12 inches. When the window was installed it ended up with less depth between the faucet and the sill then I had to begin with, so I then had to have the sink cabinet protrude out anyway. The window did not serve its purpose by being taller. I asked if they would raise it which they did for $1400.00. In doing so, the special wood valance I had made hung too low over the top of the window and thus decreased the windows outdoor view. Pocket Door error. I paid for the removal of 2 solid wood narrow French doors from the doorway leading from my kitchen to my dining room. I paid for the insert for a pocket door and I paid for a glass door to use in the pocket. I chose this because the doorway was very narrow, and I felt I could get 2 or 3 more inches of view with a glass pocket door. The pocket door, 32 inches was ordered by Agape but I do not know the cost. Unfortunately, the installer deemed the 32-inch door to be too wide for the space. As it, ended up, I now have only a 30-inch opening! I could have just saved myself over a $1,000+ if I had just left the French doors. I do not know what the problem was that decreased the opening, but I can tell you I was NOT happy about it. Agape did not give me any reason why or offer to refund the cost of a 30' door for the 32 that was originally ordered! Above cabinet lighting missed. I discovered this after the ceiling work was complete. I asked about the lighting and after reviewing his list Alex found he had missed it and there was no quick way to rewire for the lights. As it turns out they would have exacerbated the mistake of the mismatched size of wall cabinets, yet I do miss having them complete the look I sought. Organization. The contract stated that I was required to have all my choices made prior to the beginning of the project which is a great practice. I did my part. I had everything picked out and on site, more than 50 items, that which I personally ordered. Communication on average, with my main liaison Delaina was below average. Days and multiple emails on the same subject were slow to be responded to. When I could get no response from Delaina, I called Jeff. He said he did not mind me calling but I should be calling Delaina as that is what he was paying her for. What I should have said is that if Delaina would respond I would not have to call you. After that, on two separate occasions, two different women called for information and said they were helping Delaina out. I took an hour with each to go over that information. I never heard back from them either. I did see in my first time to read Agape’s reviews that others complained of Delaina slow to no response but gave the benefit of the doubt. Post Project Summary. The bright and most positive aspect of the remodel was Alex, the project manager on the job. And it is because of his work and ethics that I felt most disappointed in Jerry. I had plans for so many more room remodels with him in mind. Alec was prompt, on time, communicative, meticulous, creative, thoughtful, and intelligent. I would hire Alec alone without any hesitation. I told Jerry going into this remodel that I would be involved, he saw from my documents that I knew what I wanted and as a Project Manager by trade, I would be watching everything. He said that he enjoyed working with customers like me. Jerry talked about being a Christian and how God had led him into this line of business and that he wanted to do the right thing by his customers. If Jerry's customer service is defined by his type of Christianity, I will hire an atheist the next time.

This is going to be a long and thorough review, so I will start by saying that I would not use this company again. We did a fairly large project with them (80-90k), where we did the following: kitchen cabinet repainting, vent hood install, stairway remodel, existing media room remodel to bedroom/kitchen, and new room build in attic space. So a good variety of work that I can speak to. Now to the details. People (B) - I would say overall that everyone we worked with was nice overall. The actual front line workers were probably an A as they were always courteous, hardworking, and mostly on time. Overall I'd rate the back office folks as a C. While mostly nice on the surface, I would say that a combination of extremely poor communication and periodic lack of expertise and honesty is what brought this group down. Communication (D) - This area is probably my biggest gripe with this company. From start to finish it was just a series of miscommunications and I constantly had to stay on top of them about every little detail. I know this somewhat comes with the territory but it was frustrating to say the least. And it was very clear to me throughout the entire process that there wasn't good communication between the back office folks and the people doing the actual work. I think a lot of issues could have been prevented and/or resolved more quickly if there was better lines of communication all around. Sales Process (C) - So initially this went very well, and we got a quote that we were happy with and we felt we had a good scope of work contained therein. But once we started asking questions and digging into it more, the owner was brought in and the quote went up almost 50%. I understand that quotes can go up as you get into finer details of a project, but that large of a jump just shows me that the initial quote was just completely way off base and should not have been shared with us in the first place. It also became clear (which I'll explain later) that their various experts and construction workers are not included in the initial quoting/design process either as there was things included in the final proposal/design that probably shouldn't have been there. Proposal/Design (B) - Overall I'd say the final design was pretty good and mostly accurate, with two notable exceptions. First, there was an issue with the plumbing design as they said initially we could go under an existing hallway and connect with plumbing in another bathroom. Turns out we had to route it under another room, go down the wall of yet another (which had to be covered with odd corner wall) and then going out the front wall of that same room (which created an unattractive pipe come out of our house). If they had just had their plumbing guy come out up front, we probably would have known this as he basically shot down the initial design within 5 minutes. The other issue was around a bathroom and the design of the doors going in and out. We really wanted to have this bathroom be a jack and jill and have a door going from it to the hallway. This was put in the initial design and we were very excited about it, but again this was quickly shot down when the actual workers looked at the design during the construction phase. In retrospect it was the right decision, but this should have been resolved up front in my opinion. Construction (B) - Overall we were mostly pleased with the work that was done, with a couple of key exceptions. First, we had a very specific shower design in a new bathroom with specific tiles and a specific layout. On numerous occasions I reminded them that this design only worked if everything was centered and measured correctly, probably to the point of being obnoxious. But we were spending a lot of money on this shower so we wanted it right. Initially we had an issue during framing as the plumbing wasn't centered correctly, but luckily that was mostly fixable (except for the drain). However, once tile work was done, we realized that the tile feature on the main wall was not centered correctly. There was an almost two inch difference on one side versus the other. We have basically just learned to live with it, but it still bothers me to this day as I stressed this point so many times. Second, we had them install a vent hood for us in our kitchen, and it was damaged pretty bad on the first attempt at install. Instead of them being up front about it and owning up to their mistake, they didn't say anything and luckily I caught it during the walk through for that room. They did finally make it right, but I didn't appreciate the dishonesty there. Lastly, we have a few issues with the new room that was built in the attic space. This room required an installation of a dormer window, and while we loved the overall concept of those, the actual execution of this was a bit lacking. Inside the space looks pretty cool as we got a nice little sitting nook out of it, but outside its very clear this thing was bolted on as the pitch of roof of the dormer window does not match the pitch of the roof that it comes out of. I think that probably could have been designed and executed better to look more natural, but luckily its more on the backside of the house and not so obvious. The second problem with this room I will handle with its own section below. Post Project Support/Warranty (D) - This could have very easily been an A as they have been addressing a lot of little issues that cropped up in a timely manner at no cost to us. However, we have been having major issues with the cooling in that new room in the attic and that is where I had to drop this grade down. Long story short, these guys did all of their own A/C work instead of having an actual A/C company come out and do it. I didn't actually know this was the case until after the fact, but that was my fault for not clarifying that. I also found this odd as they had other specialized folks come in and do things like plumbing/electric, so not sure why A/C would be any different. So initially when they ran the A/C to this new room, they did it completely wrong. Their go to A/C guy wasn't able to properly diagnose it, but after I kept pressing them, they had a 2nd company come out and they found the issues almost immediately. So instead of having that company just do the work, they wanted to do it themselves again based on input from the A/C company. I was extremely hesitant to go this route as they really screwed it up the first time, but finally I agreed as they stated I would have to pay the difference if we had the A/C company do the repairs. Well, turns out they screwed it up the 2nd time too, which we found out when we had the 2nd A/C company back out again to review their work. At this point I had this company explain to me everything that was recommended, and then I went back to Agape to see what they wanted to do. They basically just wiped their hands clean of it and said they had done everything they could and that if I wanted to have the A/C company do the recommended fixes we would have to pay for it ourselves. For the amount of money we spent on that room I would have expected them to be willing to make this right and have an actual A/C company fix their mistakes, but clearly that was not the case. This left an extremely sour taste in our mouths and quite frankly was the final straw for us. Conclusion - As mentioned at the beginning, we would not use this company again. I think they have the potential to be a very great company as they do have some good people working for them and overall they do some good work, but they really need to tighten up in a few areas before they get to that next tier. That all being said, we probably would have considered using them again, except for this last issue with the A/C. Overall that was handled very poorly and I just cannot recommend them because of it.

First of all, I would like to say that I was very happy in the end with Nick, Wes & Mike. These guys did the labor intensive work and the product turned out beautifully. Now for the reason for the low score. Jeff (co-owner) is the salesperson and very personable. Jeff did all the measurements to quote the job for the work that needed to be done and once I decided to give them the job, he and Delaina (designer) came out to go over all the details. Delaina asked if I ordered my stone that I wanted for my fireplace and she informed me that they could get it for me with their discounts. I was happy to let them do that as I THOUGHT it would be cheaper. On the second to the last day of EXPECTED completion (Start day was on Nov. 18th and should have been completed on Nov. 22nd, the job actually completed on Dec. 18, 2019) the guys informed me that they did not have enough of the stone panels, but at the time of the work stop, I had 3 full EXTRA boxes of corner panels, which indicates they screwed up on ordering as I had to pay an additional $175 to get 3 EXTRA boxes of stone ledgers that were needed to finish the job. I said that since I did not order these and these were the measurements of the owner, I felt that he should have to pay. I called and texted Jeff on his cell phone and he refused to pick up or even contact me. I called the office and his "bully" brother, Jerry told me I would be paying and if I didn't, he would put a "mechanics lien" on my home. (For those that don't know what a mechanics lien is, it is where a contractor can put a lien on your home and until that lien is resolved, you cannot sell your home) I promptly hung up on Jerry as he was exceptionally rude and it was clear that I was not going to get anywhere speaking with him. It was clear that Jeff is the likeable salesperson and clearly doesn't like confrontation, so he lets his "bully" brother deal with the challenging things. So here is the bottom line regarding this company, although I was happy with the work in the end, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND them as they were not honest and they should have taken accountability for the inaccurate ordering process as they cost me above what I agreed to. For me, I want to know that I am working with HONEST contractors and who don't threaten their clients with MECHANICS LIENS! If this company was truly honest and stood behind their work, then I would hope to receive a check. If that were to happen, I would be happy to update this review!

Right from the start when I received the line itemized estimate I knew there wouldn't be any issues as to what needed to be done. Everything we discussed was clearly listed and communicated to the team. Collin, Garrett and Mark were all very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. They arrived on time and cleaned up before leaving every day. The completion date was the date that was originally stated. The end result was exactly what I wanted. I love my new kitchen!

As an interior designer, I've worked with tons of contractors, handymen, and home reno companies. Agape, by far, has exceeded any expectations I had. The guys on the crew were ALWAYS right on time, worked hard while on site, were respectful the entire time, cleaned up at the end of each day, and did a really great job overall. I had Erik, Garrett, Collin, and Stefan. They did a fantastic job and I will absolutely be recommending them for my future clients as well as for projects at my own home.

OUTSTANDING! It's hard to identify what part of their product is the most impressive - because every part is beyond excellent. The professionalism of Jeff and the crew on site is top-rate. The work done - adding granite counter tops, tile backsplash, painting over wallpaper, removing popcorn ceiling, replacing an exterior door, leveling the kitchen counter top and removing fur downs was superb. Clean-up was perfect. The on site crew are nothing less than artists in their profession. Along the way they discovered a few items that needed replacement strictly because of age that were taken care of and they performed a few extra tasks that were "piece of cake" for them but would have been "pile of xxxx" for me. If you are like us and have not done a remodel recently (our house is 39 years old) be prepared for a shock when they present the estimate - but we have no doubt it was well worth the investment. This is the second remodel they have done for us - thought I had given them another A+ review a few years ago but guess I didn't - I certainly should have. We love their work and have the utmost respect for everyone in the company.

Everyone we worked with at their company was so knowledgeable, nice and really made us feel like a valued customer. Once starting on the project, they hit a snag with the original plan for how to re-enforce the area after column removal. But they quickly proposed 3 new options (complete with visual examples so we could clearly understand) to keep the project moving so there was not much of a delay at all. The quality of their work and attention to detail is exceptional as well. They matched everything to our existing brick, wood, and paint colors (even same texturing on one wall). They communicated well throughout the project and overall was so pleasant to work with. We will definitely be calling Agape again when we have future projects to do.

We were not looking forward to remodeling our master bathroom. We talked with a lot of companies, but we knew we had a winner when we talked with Jeff at Agape Home Services. Agape's team of workers professionally provided us with all the information we needed. before beginning the project. They answered every question we had. Their crew were perfectionists and courteous. The price was reasonable and ended up being just what we were told it would be. No surprises. And best of, our bathroom looks even better than I had hoped. We truly love it. We would without a doubt use Agape again.

It went GREAT. This is the second time we have hired Agape to remodel our study and the back stairs. At this point it is a waste of my time to get multiple quotes, because I am comfortable Agape will provide a reasonable price. They are not the least expensive, but it is definitely worth paying a little more to get the type of service and quality we have come to expect from Agape. Both jobs were performed with meticulous attention to detail. And Agape crews show up when they say they are going to show up, finish when they say they are going to finish, and again, their work is impeccable. There are several more rooms in our house we want to remodel, and I will be calling Agape when we are ready to have this done. It is tough to find a trustworthy contractor (who have their own crews, by the way), and we feel blessed to have found Agape. I would highly recommend Agape to anyone looking for an honest, highly competent company to do the work.

Just completed a major remodel in my home. Gutted the kitchen, master bath, installed ceiling beams and did some level of work in every room. Their work quality is high and very professional from start to finish. The crew are all full time employees of Agape and were easy to work with. They have a high attention to detail. At the end I prepared a punch list and Agape sent several guys out and knocked out the complete list in one day. Communication is excellent. I could call any time during the day and always got hold of the onsite manager, if not immediately then very shortly after my phone call. The work site was kept clean and organized. Best of all was the timing. Agape told me the day they would start and the day they would finish and they kept to that schedule! They work 8 to 5 every day as scheduled. The total time for my major remodel I listed above was 5 1/2 weeks. I have remodeled before at this level and the project lasted many many months! Can't say enough about this group, give them a call!

I would recommend Agape Home Services without reservation. Jeff Watson, who came out to give us our quote, was very professional and responsive in listening to us as we described the vision we had for our project. The quote was thorough and professional. We worked with Delaina on the specifics of material choices, and she was great, too. She kept it manageable for us. The demo, sheet rock, and tiling was done by Walker and Dale. They did fine work and were always on time, on task, and respectful of our time and property. A pleasure to work with! Mark and Fabio sanded and re-painted the old cabinets and they look like new. We are very happy with the result.

The remodel team showed up on time each morning. They were cognizant about the noise and debris and always cleaned up prior to leaving my home each day. There were some field issues but Agape Home Services was able to creatively solve them and keep moving forward to completion. The vision of my office was brought to fruition.

Everyone was great, Jeff, Delaina, Mark, and the 2 men with us every single day, Nick and Erik. We had the best crew by far. They were so patient with us, always took the time to answer all of our questions, and treated our home like it was there’s. The project began and ended on time and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Their attention to detail and professionalism exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend them again and will be requesting them for our next project, the master bathroom, without question. Thank you for bringing our dream kitchen to life!

We needed a facelift in our kitchen and laundry room. They replaced the floors, backsplash, new cabinet and drawer fronts, replaced kitchen sink and faucet, installed granite counter tops in laundry room, replaced chandeliers, custom made cabinets round the cook range and stacking washer/dryer, painted and custom made vent hood wood cover.

Agape absolutely knocked my kitchen renovation out of the park. I called Jeff and he came out and I explained my vision. He took it, ran with it, improved it, and made it happen. Joe Delgado and his helper James took over my renovation. They came in and truly went out of their way and the job description to make my house better. Joe continually sent progress pics and was always available after hours for any questions I had. I loved working with Agape and will be contacting them soon for another project.

Agape Homes Services just completed our master bathroom remodel, the 3rd remodel project for our home by Agape. Agape helped us design a total remodel of the bathroom and we are extremely pleased with our new bathroom. We now have a beautifully designed and constructed bathroom that even exceeded our expectations, completed on time and within our budget. The professionals at Agape performed at the highest level of professionalism and competency. We especially want to acknowledge not only the quality of the work performed by Erik and Nick but also how kind, considerate and thoughtful they were throughout the entire project.

Referencing other reviews on Agape, I see a potential theme and would also like to share my recent experience. I sent a detailed request to Agape to obtain an estimate to remodel our house which included many minor items as well as some major items such as our kitchen, 3 bathrooms, modifying an interior wall, and painting the entire interior from top to bottom. I conveyed that we were wanting a good looking, great quality job that was durable and built to last (all permitting done and inspections performed etc.). I also conveyed that we were not looking for a high-end luxury remodel. The request was sent via email late at night on a Saturday, and prior to 8 a.m. on Monday morning I received a response (which was courteous) explaining that it was more than what they were willing to take on right now. I replied that we were in no hurry and that the project could be broken up into phases and completed over the course of a year or more. I also explained that if there were certain pieces that they would prefer to do, I was also open to that. The return reply said that what I was trying to do was “not a good fit for them". They did not attempt to ask questions or to seek out any additional information to obtain a better understanding of what we wanted. I replied that everything they list on their website and illustrate with their photos is right in line with what we were wanting to do. No reply was given. So my take away from this is that I don’t really know why our business was rejected. I first received one explanation (i.e. it was more than they were willing to take on) and then a second (i.e. that I am not a good fit). Honestly I do not understand how either explanation could be true given that everything I described is exactly what is listed on their website, and we were willing to spread out the work to accommodate their schedule. Without a third explanation for the reason to decline our business (which they can run their business however they want and do not owe me an explanation), I can only equate this to a perceived lack of profitability. From my estimation, what we are wanting to do would easily land in the ballpark of $40,000 to $60,000, and possibly more. In short, if you are wanting a good looking, great quality job that is durable and built to last vs. a high-end luxury remodel, then do not be surprised if Agape is not the best fit for you. Any business can pick and choose the projects they want to take on for whatever internal reasons, but they need to be straightforward in how they deal with people. That was not the case with me. I have read some “smooth” replies from Agape on other less-than-favorable reviews, but everything I have stated above is backed by supporting documentation.

We would like to start off by saying we appreciate you expressing your concern and it is unfortunate that you feel this way. After careful review, yes we indeed were unfortunately unable to help this particular customer. We have always stated that if we are unable to provide a customer with level of service they deserve, then we owe it to them to be upfront and honest from the get go, as their time is valuable just like ours. Unfortunately, because of logistics, scope of work wanted & expectations we felt that we would not be the best fit for this particular customer and told him this from the start. What the customer also fails to mention is that we did receive a thank you response from him for the quick reply and even going a step further to help provide some names of some other reputable contractors in the area that we thought may be a better fit for him and his projects. This particular customer stated that we only want to do large jobs or higher end jobs which is far from the truth, because we actually do jobs as small as handy man type jobs, which you can see through some of the reviews posted below. Again, it is unfortunate that we were unable to assist this particular customer with his projects, but we have no ill feelings and wish the customer the best of luck with his projects. Thanks, Sales Manager Jeff Watson

We have used Agape Home Services for years and there is no one we trust more with our home. The people who make up this company are exceptional at what they do. They are kind, honest, knowledgeable perfectionists. The project managers are on point keeping everything on schedule as much as humanly possible. The crews are beyond amazing. They recognize that they’re in someone’s home and are wonderful about keeping the worksite as clean as possible. We have two year old twins, four dogs, and two cats - these folks worked around our crazy house like it was second nature. Give them a call. You won’t be disappointed.

Choosing Agape to do my kitchen remodel was a great decision. I wanted to take down the wall in between my kitchen and the living room. The sales rep, Tom, really listened to what I wanted to do and came up with some great ideas. I wanted to minimize costs by keeping the existing floor and appliances, which they were happy to work with. The project manager, Delaina, was very organized, patient with all my questions, and very responsive. The same guys came to my house every day, Erik and Nick, and there were great. They were always punctual and respectful. They kept me appraised of the work and schedule and asked for my input all the time. They cleaned up every day and tried their best to minimize the dust. I was very impressed with how clean they left everything on the last day. They clearly wiped down all the furniture! They offered to come back if I found anything amiss after they left and I have no doubt they would. When there was some hiccups in the design, the owner, Jerry, showed up at my house to discuss options. They went down to the studs and put in a new kitchen in under 4 weeks. They did a good job and I would use them again.

I had my master bathroom room remodeled by Agape. It was a complete from scratch job with everything pre existing removed. First off their people are friendly, courteous and knowledgeable in their craft. You have the same guys everyday which was a big plus for me. Good people that you feel completely comfortable giving them the keys to your home when you are not home. As far as the work, it is well done and attention is paid to detail. The team was on time every day and work efficient. At the end of the project there was an issue that came up In regards to how the vendors that cut the quartz affected the shower. In each concern I expressed regarding that matter I got immediate response from Agape and they were there for me until the item was corrected and resolved. I am glad I decided to go with Agape and would return to them for any future projects.
