Installation was ok, but the website and links to see all the information was never accessible even with multiple attempts and requests for the 10 months we had them. At that time, I had to relocate with my job, the buyers did not want them. I had to pay almost 2k to end my contract. The payment was made and scheduled the removal. Bad weather or some other issue made them cancel the removal. It has now been about 6 months, the company has yet to remove the panels, keeps charging me to not use them (even though I paid to end the contract), every call to remove the panels is ended with an apology and no action... just another bill sent the next month. They call and harass me for the monthly payment till they are told to look into their records and see the payment to cancel... it has been a half of a year of aggravation and still the cycle continues. We just received another bill today and will be awaiting resolution... possibly for another 6 months, who knows

  • WCC Roofing Co.

We highly recommend WCC Roofing and Sheet Metal as a professional , honest, competent roofing company that stands behind their work and their word. Our home received major roof and gutter damage from softball-sized hail in Spring 2012. Pete Johnson, Project Manager for WCC Roofing knocked on our door to personally meet with us and give us WCC Roofing's information and answer any questions we might have. At first we were cautious because news stations had been warning viewers not to hire companies who come through town knocking on doors after a storm and take off without doing the work. That was not the case here. WCC Roofing is tenacious in their efforts to provide superior customer service and they were out canvassing the neighborhood to prevent us and others who had suffered storm damage from getting "taken" by disreputable companies. Pete shared a lot of his personal roofing knowledge and was very good to explain exactly why certain things needed to be done and how. He suggested we verify everything he told us by researching it on the web and gave us some specific websites and terms to look up. After seeing their terrific website and learning that WCC Roofing has 20+ years experience in the business, we contracted with them. Pete Johnson handled every aspect of our roof and gutter replacement from pointing out things we might have missed to working with the insurance company and coordinating work WCC Roofing's crews. He took a load of stress off our shoulders and made good on every promise. The follow-up was outstanding. Our new gutters look great and perform so well, we no longer worry when it rains really hard. In our experience, WCC Roofing goes above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied. Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Raymur St. Louis, M

Very well. They handled everything, and their proposal was conservative, with estimates of production and ROI actually below what I have realized. They also waited for my approval when they were concerned about my roof, waiting for an independent roofing expert opinion.

Overall this was a very good experience. Everyone I met was friendly and professional. They are all knowledgeable and willing to take their time to answer any question you have. Do know that this is a event that takes some time. I signed the contract in late Sept 2012. The local electric utility (AMEREN) then took about 30 days for the review cycle before they approved it. Ordering the material and waiting for my time in line then consumed the rest of the time until installation. Be patient, ask the occasional question and your contact at Straight Up Solar will keep you informed of your status. Weather events will also play a part. The electrician comes first to install the internal components, the external shut off switch and the wiring from the basement to the attic. Someone needs to be present for that. The panel installers come next and while you are welcome to be present, it isn't necessary. Lastly the electrician returns to connect the panels to the wiring in the attic. He also set up the online monitoring application. My biggest surprise was the cost. I was hoping to get a 3-to-4 kw system for around $21,000 (after incentives). But due to the dropping prices, I was able to get a 7.68 kw system for just under $14,000 (after incentives). I've already received the utility incentive and am waiting for my company's incentive. Applying for the federal tax credit will be next. My only regret is not taking a little more time to reflect in the beginning about a larger system. I was so excited about the cost/size issue that I jumped the gun a little bit. Expanding is an option I will consider after I see how the current system performs once the summer rolls in. Be assured that if I choose to expand I will be going to Straight Up Solar. Thanks for all your hard work

We went with StraightUp Solar after a bad experience with Microgrid Energy (they basically dropped the ball on our project after we signed the sales contract and left us hanging for over a month with excuses every time we would contact them). The project was time sensitive due to the interest free loan we received. The project had to be completed by a certain date. We lost a month waiting on Microgrid but StraightUp Solar was able to come in, accomodate us and expedite our project and complete it in time to meet the requirements of our loan. The entire crew was very friendly and professional and explained what they were doing every step of the way

ALL the work was done VERY PROFESSIONALLY and they clean up after themselves as well. The work was performed in a timely manor and communication was always shared. (too many companies don't communicate) There were 35 Solar Panels installed in three separate pods (if you will) to give us the most benefit. Once we received the assesment and the final estimate, we decided which Solar Panels we wanted to purchase and everything went exactly as planned (almost to the minute) We are very happy to have made the decision to go with STRAIGHT UP SOLAR !!

The intention was to cover up half of our electric bill. It works perfectly. They were lovely to work with. They knew what they were doing, and arranged them. They helped us to get the rebates through. They were great with that. They worked with us beautifully, and the price was great. We got federal rebates, so it ended up being a super deal. They charged their price minus the rebate; so I didn't know what their charge was

  • Tick Tock Energy, Inc
    5.0
Review of Tick Tock Energy. 05/20/2018 5.00 Before deciding on a company to install solar panels on my house roof, I did an online search, and talked with several. companies that service my area. Several of the companies do solar installation as a small part of their business. Not many had much information on their website. The prices of installation and the number of panels they recommended varied. The only company that stood out in my assessment, was Tick Tock Energy. Not only does their website have a lot of information, but they had posted a number of videos online to explain where they are getting the panels and the quality and durability of the panels they install. Since this was a big investment, I had a lot of questions. I wanted to make sure that the panels installed would provide enough energy to power not only all my current appliances, but also an electric furnace and water heater if I have them installed in the future. Tick Tock estimated, on the basis of the electricity I had used in the previous year as shown in my electrical bills, that I would need a 5.68 kWp system - 16 panels. A couple other companies with which I spoke, estimated I would need a system that produced over 7 kWp. The installation cost estimates by the other companies were also higher than the estimate by Tick Tock. So I discussed with Tick Tock whether I would need the higher power system, but the man who gave me the estimate detailed why, with the energy I had been using in the previous year, the system he was proposing would be more than adequate for my needs in the present and future. I had a lot of other questions as well, throughout the process of making a decision about which company to choose. Tick Tock had the information I needed. I also noted that their reviews online were uniformly high. I next contacted several of the referrals I was given by Tick Tock of customers who had had panels installed by them in recent years, and all of them indicated that they were very satisfied with the systems installed, and with the help they had been given by Tick Tock on an ongoing basis. When I received the proposed contract, I consulted with my lawyer, who reviewed the contract and approved it, and I signed it. It took a while for the system to be installed, with other work the company was committed to, and took a while for it to be approved by the electrical inspector and for Ameren to install the new meter. My system went into operation in December 2017, and I have been producing more energy than I use, with the excess going into the grid for energy credits. Tax credits through the Federal Government can recoup up to thirty percent of the cost for three years, depending on how much tax a property owner pays. In addition, through the State of IL, credits are available for excess power produced, and I received several payments for excess power over the last year. Tick Tock Energy gave me the information I needed for both types of credits, and they facilitated the process for me to receive the credits. I have had other questions in the year that my system has been operating, and I continue to be able to reach and talk with staff and to get assistance as needed. I am highly satisfied with the knowledge, expertise, and helpfulness of the people who own and operate Tick Tock, and am glad that I chose them to install solar panels on my roof. I highly recommend this company

It went well, however Mid-America Solar closed their doors after Ameren stopped supporting distributed solar.
