Two thumbs up for Adams Water & Sewer Service! They were very responsive -- came out the same day I called -- and were also able to start the job the next morning . They were on time both times, which I really appreciate. They had to work in a wet, muddy, and hard-to-reach area, but did a great job tidying up the space after they were done. I was impressed by how much care they took to find and fix the problem pipe and our drainage problem. I highly recommend Adams Water & Sewer Service and will definitely hire them again.

Called them for emergency look at sump pump. Initial appointment was cancelled after I waited all day for them. Rescheduled for following Saturday. They finally showed up very late that evening (not within the time promised) and after me calling the company twice to check on ETA. They could not complete the work that they. We agreed on course of action for repair and set April 17 as date for job. After waiting most of the day, they called to notify us they were not going to show up that day. I called back and cancelled the job. I could not continue taking time from work for no shows. Very irresponsible. They clearly have scheduling issues. They were much better before the merger with Comfort Air. They have lost me as customer.

Noticed water build up around the sump pump discharge outside the home. Bought a sump pump inspection and called in the work to repair the line. Scheduled for 9am; they thought they had me down for 9:30. No biggie; as long as the line gets fixed. Quoted $450, but payed $499. I don't know what the other $49 was for, but as long as the discharge works, I didn't care. Now for the inspection.... Stated that the sump pump was "aged" & may need to be replaced soon. Also the back up pump was not functional. Ok, how much??? $2,098!!! Checked Lowe's, and Home Depot. Both have priced well under half of that for the most expensive combos they carry. What I like: Responsive; Accessible: They answer the phone. They call right back. If I have an emergency I will use them again.

It's going terrific! They installed a new sump pump in the winter and they are working on the new line. The sump pump they installed is a large system that includes a back up and alarms. The price is fair for the work.

Workman came out in the middle of the night Friday morning 12:30 and installed a main basic sump pump $695. The sump pump worked all day to Friday pump out the six inches of water in 2100 sq ft basement. The next morning Saturday the sump pump that was installed failed and we had 4 inches of water still. I called again Saturday at 5:45 a.m. and the workman came out again and installed a new sump pump that same afternoon. A frog had gotten in the blades of the sump pump from the water inlet. The workman also installed one of their old sump pumps to get rid of the water in the basement routing it out through the window. We were frustrated that the sump pump that was installed was not strong enough to get the job done. We insisted on a second main sump pump to be installed with a bigger motor and with a battery back up. We already had negotiated a Monday appointment. We got a call from the workman Saturday afternoon and they came back and installed a stronger second main sump pump with battery backup and 2nd bigger PVC line. The workman recommended that he install a mesh on water inlet to keep debris from getting in the pump blades. We are currently waiting on that to be installed and it is Tuesday. In their defense a lot of people were having flooding issues due to sump pumps failing with the 7 inches of rain that we were having. We appreciate the fact that the second sump pump with battery backup and PVC line $4,800 were installed before the Monday appointment. We were in an emergency situation and it has been resolved so far. We have been testing the controls on the issue with more rain today and in the near future forecast. So far the three new sump pumps are keeping up and we have a dry basement.

Originally Elden was to come out to repair the pool however, just before he got there the sump pump in the basement went out and it started filling with water (Saturday.) I called him to let him know we had another emergency and he came prepared to put in a temporary sump pump and fan to dry out the basement in addition to fixing the pool liner. He called on Sunday to make sure the basement was drying out and that the temporary sump pump was working. On Monday he came with a new sump pump and battery backup. He was very responsive and took care of the problem quickly.

We called Isley's about replacing our sump pump. They gave us the best estimate and then were able to schedule us within a week or so, even though it was a very busy time for them. They showed up on time with the new sump pump and all the right parts and tools. They replaced the sump pump within a half hour and cleaned up the mess from the old one.

The alarm was sounding on our backup sump pump indicating that the pump had been activated. I went downstairs and checked the main sump pump and could not get it to activate by raising the float. Called Paul E. Smith Plumbing (original installer of the plumbing in our house 19 years ago and the only plumbing company that has ever worked in our home). Set an appointment for between 10 and 2...called back almost immediately saying they had had a cancellation and that they could arrive earlier. Plumber arrived at the scheduled time, checked the float/sump pump and could find nothing wrong. I asked him about the "life" of a sump pump and he said 5 to 10 years. My sump pump is/was 8 years old so I decided to replace the sump pump. Complete job finished in about 2 hours with Smith's normal cleanliness and professionalism.

Plumber arrived on time. He did wear shoe coverings because the entry to the crawl space is inside the home. He advised me that the old sump pump was worn out and only work went manually forced to turn on. Sump pump was 7 years old. He quoted price for both standard and deluxe pump. I choose the deluxe pump for the warranty and because they would wave the appointment fee. He installed the sump pump and it has been working very well.

Their service was great although I thought that they were a little over-priced. There was an air lock in the sump pump that was caused because there was supposed to be a weevil hole drilled into the sump pump. The original installer didn?t do that, and that was what caused the air lock, and that was why the sump pump stopped working. The person who came out just drilled the hole that needed to be put in there to begin with, and it has been working fine. Even though the sump pump wasn?t under warranty, they didn?t charge me because the person who had originally installed it didn?t do the job right. I was really impressed by that. The first time when they replaced the sump pump, they disposed of the old one.

We were out of town when it rained 4 inches in 45 minutes completely overwhelming our dual sump pumps. At 12:30 am Bob had Steve come out with a pump. Pumped out the basement, & brought industrial size fans & an enormous dehumidifier. Later, Steve installed a new sump pump with a 2nd sump pump on battery backup. During the next rain, Steve called to see if everything was OK.

Recent Review: My sump pump was failing, and with more rain on the way, I was concerned. Brad was very understanding and said they could help me. He arranged for Casey to come check the sump pump just a couple of hours after my call. Casey did a great job, identified the problem, replaced the sump pump, tested it, and explained all the work to me. He also honored the Angie's List Deals price for the new sump pump. I'm very happy with the work, and will contact Hope Plumbing again for any future plumbing needs.

Recent Review: My experience with May Plumbing was a homeowner’s dream. Sam May and his employees were professional and reliable from the start. Sam May came to my house not knowing me or knowing whether this would be a large job or a small job; something that really seems to matter these days. Instead of asking qualifying questions, he simply listened to my plea for help and agreed to participate. I’m sure the time he spent at my house analyzing the situation called for some rearrangement of his calendar that day, nevertheless, he remained thorough and intent on discovering the cause of the leak. Although it ended up being a small job, Sam’s demeanor and attention did not change. He recognized that we were still in a bind and he continued to focus on helping us resolve our problem as quickly as possible. He called when he said he would. He showed up when he said he would. He provided exactly the product we discussed and made sure the installation was complete. The only thing he didn’t do was add charges or services to the bill that I hadn’t agreed to. He came to our house,(total of 3 times) thoroughly examined each room, uncovered some unknown issues, correctly diagnosed the problem and proceeded to fix the problem (as well as the uncovered issues) all while staying within his very reasonable quote. Sam May and his employees demonstrated their understanding of and commitment to good customer service. Way to go, Sam!

Recent Review: Jay did an excellent job on the installation, we have a sealed pit in the basement with a radon extraction system, and Jay was able to install the new sump pump and the battery backup using the existing cover. Nice, clean installation, and Jay also managed to solve the noise problems we were having with the old sump pump (pretty sure the check valve on the old pump was either not working, or it was causing a vacuum in the exit line which made for some VERY noisy gurgling whenever the sump would do an extraction run). The installation was done very quickly, and Jay and his assistant actually arrived early for the job. Very prompt and considerate, and the post-install cleanup was excellent -- very respectful and professional. Very satisfied with the work performed, would not hesitate to contact JACO in the future for any other basement or waterproofing needs.

Recent Review: We had just experienced a great deal of snow (about 15 inches in some areas), which was melting fast. On top of that, we had rain for an entire weekend. I was on my way to check and make sure that the battery back up was charged and ready to go to prevent any basement flooding. When I came down, into the basement, the battery back up was beeping. I checked the cells, and everything was good, I heard the pump going, and checked the sump pit. Everything looked ok. The sump pit was a bit fuller than normal, but considering all of the water coming down into our drains, that made since. I reset the alarm, and went on about my day. A couple of hours later, I found myself needing to go back down to the basement to put some holiday decorations away. The battery backup was beeping again! I went and checked the battery, and now the display showed that the backup pump was engaged. I looked down in the sump pit, and it was even fuller than it had been a couple hours ago. Now, I was getting concerned. I am a data analyst for an insurance company. I will freely admit that if there's a person who knows nothing about plumbing, he more than likely knows more than me. So, when I saw the sump pit continue to fill with water, but yet heard the pump going, I was confused. The only thing I could think was that the outflow was clogged. At this point, it was pretty dark out, freezing, and of course, our outflow goes directly into a pond in just beyond our back yard fence. I'm not a fisherman, so I had no waders to get into the pond with. My wife and I fashioned some make-shift waders with garbage bags and duct tape. Yes -- this actually happened. So, I go out, into the pond -- which was less than comfortable, and find our outflow. There was a small trickle coming out. I reached into the outflow, hoping that I wouldn't find any dead animals that may have been trapped in there. All I found was grass. I reached in, and pulled out about a 2ft plug of grass clippings and dirt. Then the water started coming more steadily. Not gushing, but certainly more than it had been. I went back into the basement to see if we had any progress in the sump pit. We had some progress, but not nearly what I was expecting. Encouraged, but still concerned, I had resolved to call a plumber out during the weekend to take a look at what was happening. For now, the water was still receding. The next morning, I went and checked on the sump pump's progress, to find FLOODING!!! Granted, it was not much, it had only gotten as far as a couple of feet away from the sump it. But we had just finished the basement last year -- all was not good. We tried calling other companies in the area, such as ARS, or Dial One, but we were told that they would not be able to make it out that day. I had visions of bailing water all day until someone could come out -- then my father-in-law suggested Carter's. He had seen the truck around our area before. We called and was informed that they would have someone there soon. They couldn't give an exact window yet, because they had just opened and hadn't had a chance to speak with any of their plumbers.10 minutes later, we got a call from Jason (the plumber coming out to our house), who said he should be there in about 20 minutes. 15 minutes later, the doorbell rang, and there he was. I took Jason down to the basement where the sump pump was, and he immediately identified the problem. He informed me that the primary pump had died due to a failure in the float sensor. The pumping that we had heard the entire time was the back up (surprised me -- it was certainly loud enough to convince me it was the primary pump). I asked Jason if there was an issue with the back up pump, since it was clearly not keeping up. Jason was very patient in explaining to me how the sump pit is filled by perimeter drains that basically surround our house, and that sump pumps are generally purchased based on square footage of the house. The battery backup that I had purchased was the biggest that Home Depot had to offer, and he acknowledged that, but he also showed specifications on that model, illustrating that it was indeed not sufficient for the square footage of our house. Considering that it was slowly overtaken the previous night, but was still running, I had to admit, that made a lot of sense. Now, it was time to decide on a new sump pump. Carter's offers installation of 3 levels of sump pumps. Jason was very knowledgeable about each pump, allowing me to review each pump, while basically reciting the specs by memory. Jason explained that I could probably get away with the smallest level, provided we didn't have a deluge of rain, but recommended the next level up. Having seen a flooded basement before at an old girlfriend's house, I didn't really want to take any chances. The next level up in sump pumps was almost double the cost, however, the level up from that was only a couple hundred more than the mid-level. I was ready to seriously just get the highest level based on the price difference, just to have the peace of mind that all would be well. Jason talked me down from that, and again, explained how everything worked with sump pumps, and their relation to square footage vs. gallons pumped per minute. This was a plumber trying to save me money?!?!? After several more minutes of Jason very patiently, and politely answering my questions and concerns, I decided to go with the mid level sump pump. The actual installation took about 10 - 15 minutes, and Jason even took my old sump pump to dispose of. When the work is done, Jason asked if I was happy with the battery backup, and I stated that I thought it was better than nothing, but if there's something that could keep up better, than I would definitely be looking into it. He advised that his company installs them, and they were pricey -- even by his own admission and said that if we wanted to upgrade the back up, to call Carter's and if we wanted, we could even ask for him by name. I think he said it would have been around $2,000 (YIKES) installed. Then he said that the price was more for the control panel than the battery. The battery is maintenance free and good for about 5 years, as opposed to my 2-3 year battery, which requires monthly refills of distilled water. The control panel also gives specifics as to what's happening, as opposed to 4 or 5 LED lights that have a vague definition next to them and this battery is good for 180 hours of continual pumping, as opposed to my battery's 7.5 hours. I told Jason that I am definitely interested in a system like that, but again, he advised that I not order it right then and there -- stating that the new pump is handling things well, and the current backup is still good, as long as we don't have massive amounts of drainage, like we had the past few days at that time -- which is rather rare. Jason said he would place the order if we wanted, but said if you can budget for it, his company definitely promotes that (saving me money again!) When we were going over the paperwork, and making payment arrangements, Jason took his time, and made sure I understood what I was signing my name on. While I was re-reading everything, 2 things happened. First, he got a phone call from another customer, and advised that he was in the area and could meet with the customer for a consultation -- free of charge. No consultation fee?? I've never heard of that with a plumbing company! Second, I was looking over the statement, and found that I was given a first time customer discount of 10% -- saving me about $100! In addition to that discount, the service fee (what all these company charge just for coming out) was waived! I honestly didn't know or ask if that was also a first time customer thing. But even if it wasn't -- I saw that the normal amount was $60.00. Considering ARS and Dial 1 charge around $90 just to grace us with their presence, I made sure to remember that little detail. I was given a comment card, and gave Jason and Carter's a glowing review, and then a couple of days later, I received a thank you card in the mail, hand written, thanking me for my business and mentioning Jason by name. Also signed by the and quot; The Cartersand quot; -- obviously, inferring ownership of the company. I will definitely use Carter's again, and recommend them to anyone who asks, and probably many others who don't. Additionally, I've added them to my speed dial list on my house phone and cell phone. I could not be happier!!!

Recent Review: Let me start by saying that Plumb Doctor is an excellent company to work with. Our plumbing need was a estimate and repair that was required based against an inspection report. Our turn-around time to complete this work was very short, and Jenny and John (Plumb Doctor owners), could not have been more accommodating in fitting us in. Steven came out and examined the plumbing for needed repairs. The next day, Tyler came and made those repairs. From start to finish, they were professional, knowledgeable, and fairly priced. My sister-in-law was so impressed that she said that her husband and she would now use them for several rental properties that they own. I highly recommend Plumb Doctor.

What do customers in Indianapolis say about Sump Pump Repair?

Came out same day as called. Went under house into crawl space. Found check valve was stuck due to debris. He replaced check valve and cleaned both sump pump pits(we have 2 sump pumps) to prevent from reoccurring.
