Houston Above Ground Pool Installation

Starlight Pools came out to install a large in-ground pool in the backyard of my home. The workers did a good job cleaning up when they were finished. I have had no problems with the workmanship since they built the pool. I am happy with the work that was done and I do not want to say the cost.

The pool heat pump they installed in August 2014 developed a leak over time. I don't know whether the leak is from the heat pump itself of the connections they made to my filtration system. When I called in Dec 2015 to have them come service the unit, the owner informed me he could not support the equipment because the only qualified technician he had no longer worked there. He referred me to a large chain store. I give him credit for honesty but regret doing business with a small company that cannot support the equipment they installed a year and a half later.

All of our communication with him were great. He is very professional. He was on time. He was great to talk to and to deal with.

My pool looks marvelous! I never had a pool before and I am really enjoying it. When Custom came to install the pool, they were the nicest people I ever met in my life. They had quite a lot to talk about, but I didn t mind. Everything is great and working properly. I do not have any complaints at all.

We had renovations done in our rental home swimming pool and we had a pool built in our new home. The entire team provided excellent customer service and was very respectful. We love our new pool. I highly recommend this company. Two thumbs up!

I wanted a pool for a small space, for exercise, that matched the style of the house. I got exactly what I wanted very efficiently from the design by Rob through the project supervision by Jack. Nothing fazed this company (even torrential rains) because they stayed on top of the job moving it along until it was completed. Extremely professional yet staying personable while handling my questions and concerns (quickly I learned they had the situation under control - thank goodness!) The ultimate best part is with such efficiency the pool was ready for summer - the hardest I had to do was control my enthusiasm as I watched the pool appear stop action photography. Custom Pool Concepts redefines "competent contractor" as far as I'm concerned, now I have a yardstick to measure others by! Thanks for the positive experience !

Dig was on August 18 and Plaster was on September 27. The subs this company uses are all quality from the excavation, plumbing, stone, electrical and concrete crews. There were no delays and the contractor Ryan is available and professional. the designer or sales person Chris is great and has good follow up. There are several crews this company uses and a couple sales people, I can not speak for the others. If you use Richards use Chris Hinze and Ryan Reeves you will be happy with them. I was referred from a friend who used them to build their pool and have referred 2 of my friends who will probably be building early next year. There are the final touches still pending but we love our pool. I wish I could post a picture so you could see the quality. I highley recommend these guys. One more note this company has a lifetime warranty on the pool, equipment and decking as well. The owner also met with us and gives his direct contact information. The store staff are great and Jennifer and Alexis have gone out of there way to help with needs. Alexis is great with the chemicals and teaches a free pool school they have monthly as well.

DO NOT BUILD YOUR NEW POOL WITH THIS COMPANY! RUN FAST!!!! Problems began from the inception! The scheduler told us the pool was being permitted for 3 months when it was not, just one lie after the next until I asked for the permit number with the city to check on it myself. THEN THEY FILED FOR THE PERMIT! 3 MONTHS LATER! The pool then got built, a very simple rectangular pool with a spa at the end BUT THE TWO DRAINS ARE COMPLETELY CROOKED AND THE IN-FLOOR CLEANING SYSTEM WAS NOT INSTALLED IN THE RIGHT LOCATION! The superintendent quit the day our pool was being filled. They told us the pool had to be filled with water for 30 days which started an onslaught of leaks! First they said it wasn't leaking and finally did a bucket test. They sent out leak detection which revealed a leak in the side wall as well as ALL THREE SCUPPERS LEAKING! So then we get the next superintendent who appeared to be sympathetic at first and wants to make the necessary repairs. He continued to want a 5 Star review as he tells us that he wants to be promoted and needs 5 jobs with 5 star reviews first. BUT shortly thereafter it becomes obvious that he is lacking experience and is learning on the job. It takes three separate visits for the repair company to fix the scuppers and the side wall pool leak! Then A&S customer service rep tells us in writing that they need to drain the pool, jack hammer out the drains and parts of the in floor cleaning system then reinstall those sections of the gun ite and re-plaster the entire pool! Of course, A&S wanted 100% of their money PRIOR TO PLASTERING THE POOL! There was no holdback allowance for the lack of having the heater here. After supply chain issues, they install the pool heater in September but then the superintendent realizes he has to have the gas line inspected and we need a new gas meter. We wait and wait for that and then he realizes he needs a final pool inspection before Centerpoint will install the new gas meter! We began this nightmare in February 2021 and it is now almost Christmas. Supervisors will not call you!! They hide behind the superintendent and empower the mismanagement of the job and poor customer service! The superintendent told us he would make all the repairs after Thanksgiving and yet when called, he tells us they must get their final inspection with the city first. They send the city inspector out twice without telling us and then blame that on us because our gates are closed and locked (we have dogs). Now more than six weeks later and after adding additional closures to our gates, he tells us today that we must have a loud alarm installed on our back door in order to get the final inspection and is dropping it off TODAY!!!!! Upon calling him, he blames us for the deficiency and hangs up on me! THIS COMPANY IS THE WORST AND THERE IS NO WAY IN THE WORLD THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM. YOU WILL BE ADDRESSING ISSUES DAILY WITH THEM AND EITHER GET NO RESPONSE OR AN UNINFORMED ANSWER! THIS IS GOING TO BE THE MOST UNPLEASANT POOL EXPERIENCE THAT WILL REQUIRE FOLLOWING UP ON DAILY! CALL ANYONE ELSE OTHER THAN THESE GUYS. THEY ARE BAD NEWS! I am a Houston Real Estate Broker and will NEVER refer this company!

We received bids from 6 different pool companies. The Cross Custom Pools bid was the best value and the pool design was also significantly better than any of the others we received. This is a small business and the owner is your single point of contact. She runs the whole job from design to personal supervision of the construction. She is very creative, has excellent ideas, is super conscientious, and very enjoyable to work with. She does quality construction in terms of beams, returns, pumps, etc. Her crews were also very good, and she provided regular on-site supervision. The pool came out beautifully.

This is the MOST dishonest company that I have ever dealt with on any service or product. . Liens filed filed against my home for unpaid sub-contractors No warranty documentation provided upon completion of pool Service ruined my plaster Major foundation issues with pool that will cost in excess of $30,000 to repair Refusal to honor warranty claims Belligerent engagement when trying to resolve issues Service person appeared to be meth user The owner is Mike Caruso, just in case he ever appears anywhere else in the industry.

They did a great job. We are very pleased with the work they did. Their price is very reasonable. They had a very good design. They have good maintenance, they come when they say they will come. They show up weekly.

We had a fantastic experience with Mitchell Custom Pools. From start to finish, everyone we dealt with listened to what we were asking for and delivered on point. Any hiccups were quickly addressed and remedied. They were very quick and built a quality pool. Top of the line equipment, top of the line construction, top of the line materials. They offered a beautiful selection of materials to choose from. The building process encountered weather hiccups, but other than that, the staff and build went fine. We had an excellent instructor during Pool School - highly recommend recording the session, as we did. After the build, the project manager made himself available to us for questions, which was very important to us, since we were first-time pool owners.
