Working with Adam Kane and the gentlemen he employs in his company, Kane Finishing, has been an absolute pleasure! Our original interaction with Adam was for the installation of two pocket doors in our new home. For the pocket doors, Adam met with us to explain his bid and to describe the type of products he would use for the framing, doors, electrical, etc. It quickly became apparent that Adam is one of those rare individuals who takes great pleasure in doing things correctly ? using quality materials while ensuring an incredible attention to details throughout the project. We knew from our interactions during that meeting that Adam truly cares about his clients and about doing an outstanding job. Although our home was brand new, one evening when Adam pulled into our driveway to do some finishing work on the doors, a fitting on our hot water line burst (the fitting literally burst as Adam pulled into the driveway). Adam was at our home to work on pocket doors but that night he saved us from what could have been a major issue when he found the main shut off to the house, altered us to other plumbing issues left from the builder, AND STAYED WITH US to help clean-up the mess in the kitchen and basement. On a personal level, Adam provided us with so much more than a contractor doing our pocket doors. He provided his support, skills, and knowledge for what was a very stressful event! Because of the interactions from that night and his excellent craftsmanship and use of top-notch materials, we quickly asked Adam to also open-up our stair walls and build steps with solid hickory treads. Although our home is brand new, there were several issues from new home construction that quickly became apparent. These issues required Adam and one of his employees to custom build each and every aspect of the stair project. Again, Adam?s attention to detail and insistence on doing the job correctly has resulted in a gorgeous, completely opened-up, custom built, solid hickory treads set of stairs. Adam and the gentlemen he employs with Kane Finishing are absolutely stellar examples of all that can go right when having work done on your home. We consider ourselves so fortunate to have found Adam through Angie?s List and he will always have our business, our recommendation, and our gratitude!

They sent a sales person to show me samples in May, she had to come back because she didn't have samples and i changed my mind. i had her come back with samples and made a decision and wrote a deposit check for $1800 for the $3500 door I selected. The company failed to call for the next fee months, i called at the end of august to ask for an update on the process and was informed the door had in fact arrived and received a date for installation approximately 3 weeks later. I called the company 1 week before the installation date to verify everything was in order, I received a phone call back at 6 pm the day before installation to inform me the door was lost. I received very little information as to when they were going to replace the door, how long I would wait and if they were even going to replace door. I called the corporate office and spoke to a man named Troy in customer relation, he said he would call the local office and have them address issue. I did get a call from an installer that wanted to remeasure the door, which I thought was unusual. I asked to speak to the owner of the local business and was told he was on vacation. No one called back in response to my questions on the process of getting a new door. I called at the end of September to get a refund for my deposit, I received my refund 1 business day after I called. I am disappointed that it took several months for them to inform me the door had arrived and then lost the door. There was poor response as far as resolving the issue.

We had a great experience with Solid Rock Remodeling. We hired them to demo our dining room with old plaster walls and ceiling. They worked hard and did a great job, communicating with us the entire project and worked around our schedule and needs. They did a great job installing in a "crooked" old house (100+ years old) and we have no complaints! We look forward to finishing up the paint in our dining room so we can hire them back to put in a new front door for us!

One of the doors was knocked off its track. All 3 over 20 years old and did not work well. He showed up when scheduled, replaced the tracks and rollers on all 3. Cleaned up every day and repair large hole in drywall for each repair, including paint. Repainted as necessary to blend to existing paint. Installed new rear door doing trim work as needed.

Overall, very well. It took 12 work days to complete. Because they sub out everything except the carpentry, scheduling was sometimes an issue but nothing major since we have another bathroom. Work was done very professionally and the final product looks great. Dust and dirt was contained and did not reach the rest of the house. We were able to leave the workers alone in the house to complete tasks without incident. The only problem was a plumbing leak which fortunately was caught early, immediately fixed and the resulting damaged ceiling tiles replaced.

Originally found 'The Window Man' here on Angie's list. My old windows and doors were 30 years old ! Had replacement windows installed early September and was satisfied with the know how, attention to detail with my install. They know what there doing and it shows in their work. Had them come back in October and do two storm doors and two interior doors. Done as scheduled and at the estimate I was given. I'd recommend them . Hope it helps with utility bills this winter. I do know that outside noise has been greatly reduced.

Recent Review: (Our door is a basic "contractor quality" model that the home builder had selected.) Shank Door did not inform us that any fees would be due at the time the technician showed up; the technician informed me of that at the time he arrived. The technician did not have proper parts to make repairs to our damaged door - he stated that he would have to order replacement parts. After contacting the Shank Door Company home office the technician learned that our model door was discontinued, and a entire new door would be needed. We would actually need two doors if we wanted both garage doors to match. I was not ready to commit to replacing both doors. Since the technician was unable to make any repairs, combined with the fact that we had not been notified of the fee schedules prior to the technician arriving, no fees were charged and the technician departed. As of November 2015 the door remains unrepaired. I am still thinking about what and how the door is going to be repaired - not replaced. I wish that Shank Door Company had done a better job of communicating their policies and fee schedules before the technician arrived.

He scheduled the work for several weeks ahead, delayed due to door fabrication, and kept us informed of the door delivery schedule. Dean's crew performed the demo, construction, installation and rough carpentry in a single day, and left the worksite clean and orderly. Dean came back to check GHD work, and made well-scheduled Followup visits to complete the drywall finish work. The door proved air- and weather-tight through the winter of 2016-17. We are very satisfied with our new door! We commissioned another single-door installation from Dean, which he completed promptly and satisfactorily. In both cases he negotiated the price fairly, and honored his price estimates, even performing minor additional work without additional cost.
