Also important for us, he managed the entire project and I was only pulled in from time to time on design questions. All of his employees were top-notch and showed up on time. The project took longer than expected, but that was due to the landscape design team and not Rick. Rick also installed two other pools in our neighborhood and they had positive experiences as well

    Update: I was not paid to give a review and I did utilize and hire Shefer Builders for a total remodel. Remodeling can be stressful. So many decisions and expenses. We thought about it several years. We researched, planned, saved and interviewed several companies. We wanted a general contractor that could handle all our needs (one stop). We met with Yani of Shefer Builder twice. We shared our budget, our wants, and our concerns. It’s important you find someone you feel comfortable with and can have confidence in. It’s your home after all. He made us feel excited about the possibilities and his portfolio was extensive. He had loads of ideas and thoughtful ways and places we could make our dreams come true. We’d lived in our 1950s home for 20 years. Everything needed updating. From the roof down to new flooring, new windows, doors, outside stucco, and a gorgeous new open floor plan kitchen (removed a wall) and bathroom! We couldn’t be happier now! The end result is amazing. It looks like something in a magazine. Yet very livable. Yani helped with choosing wall colors, tile, flooring and fixtures. They built a new master walk-in closet with custom organizers. Added crown molding and pocket lights throughout and durable pretty flooring. During the process Yani stayed in touch constantly and sent pictures of the progress. If we had a question he was very responsive in returning a call or text. He stayed within our budget and even found places to save us money. We joke if we win the lotto we’ll have Shefer Builder back to add a second story. We’d be happy to provide more info

    Steve and his pool team are on point. Steve has his pool installation process down and things flowed smoothly. He was quick to respond if questions arose and he followed up throughout the process to make sure things were going well. Side-note: I recommend choosing your tile and coping early in the process so it can be ordered and ready to go. Our coping wasn’t in stock (no fault of Steve’s) but waiting for it to come in put a hold on our project for a bit. We are very happy with the end result and our family is enjoying the new pool!     I called and wanted to have an estimate done for a backyard pool. I spoke to Richard, and he explained to me that he sold sqaure footage of a pool and there was set pricing. He said that he didnt need to come out and give an estimate unless I was ready to sign a pool contract because as he said and quot;a pool sells itselfand quot;. I was a little taken back by the way he dealt with me on the phone, but after numerous estimates and phone calls with other pool companies, I decided to call Richard back and have him come out so I could sign pool contracts. Dean showed up to my house to do the contracts, I explained to Dean everything we wanted in our pool, and we agreed to the price and signed the contracts. We had decided that we wanted to have the construction start in late August, but do to the fault of the city and the issuance of the permits, we were not able to actually dig until mid September. The mornig of the dig, I got a surprise call that an addendum would need ot be made so that my pool would have a raised bond beam and that it would cost me a little bit extra. I decided to go ahead wtih the cost. The pool was finally dug and it was looking great! Next came the re-bar and plumbing. Those things went off without a hitch. After the re-bar and plumbing came the electrical and the gunite. The pool was really starting to take shape and look fantastic. Finally the concrete needed to be done, and after about 3 full days the concrete was done and it looks great. The plastering was done about a week later and that same day, water was already in the pool. Overall, there were some times that Richard and I argued a bit over the construction, but I am happy to report that we are still friends and he did an absolute beatiful job on the pool! I would recommend this company to anyone that is interested in buying a pool

    We hired Shefer Builder to remodel our recently purchased condo. The project consisted of installing recessed lights, remodeling a bathroom and building a new closet. I am very pleased with the effort they (primarily their office manager, Natali) put in to make sure that all the necessary documents were in place so that the project could be approved by our HOA. I spoke to 7 contractors trying to get proposals and the documents required by the HOA. Three contractors backed out before giving me a proposal, one had messed up documents, one kept trying to upsell me, one seemed very inexperienced, and one provided a bid that seemed like a lowball bid. Shefer was professional in the bid process and the project was completed at the cost that I expected. I was impressed that for each facet of the project, i.e., electrical, tile, plumbing, painting, carpentry, a specialized crew was working on that facet. The quality of the work was excellent and Yani kept on top of the project to make sure that everything was done correctly. I appreciate that working in a condo and around HOA requirements is not easy. Shefer did a great job in completing the project with essentially no complaints from the neighbors or the HOA.     We hired California Construction company for a complete remodeling (kitchen, bathrooms, flooring. This was a major work so we interviewed 3 others. California Construction company was pretty close with their cost estimate and solution approach with the others' so the price was fair. What differentiated them was the instant responsiveness for our additional inquiries and needs. We got great compliments for the results of their remodeling work.     Eli said that I will love my kitchen when it's done. He's right; I totally love it. You can't tell that there was ever a wall in the middle of my new space. The guys who hung my cabinets were total pros; everything is flush and level; no scratches on the finish. The counter top is a work of art; all of the custom cuts are perfect. The tile work is excellent, both on the backsplash and the floor. The wood flooring looks beautiful. They did a great job installing the appliances; all of them function perfectly. Just tell Eli if you don't like the way something turned out, and he will have it fixed to your satisfaction. He also did not overcharge for change orders. I had that problem with a previous contractor. M&M Construction has the architect and engineer in house, so when the original plans submitted to the city didn't work out because the structure of my house was different than expected after they opened up the walls, he was able to submit alternative plans to the city at no additional charge to me. I would highly recommend M&M Construction

    update we purchased a couple of years ago. Most important for us was to add fourth bedroom with bathroom and walk-in closet to our 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house in Palo Alto, remodel & reconfigure kitchen and remodel existing bathrooms. We also wanted to vault the ceiling in our dining room & kitchen and add skylights. We did extensive research and met with 4 other companies before making our decision on working with HomeTech. Moses's professionalism, preparedness and positive, straight forward attitude convinced us and made us certain HomeTech can handle this extensive remodel / rebuild of our home The team including Designer, engineer and project manager gave us great suggestions to meet our needs as well as stay within our budget . We started project with soft demolition of the kitchen and ceiling so the team could determine amount of structural work needed and design and plan the project accordingly to work with our budget. We moved out from the house for the time of the construction as we have two little kids and working from home. However, when visited the site, the crew seemed very organized, detailed oriented and precise. The project was completed within projected timeline even with little set back due to COVID . We are extremely happy with the way everything turned out. The kitchen , living room and dining room looks much bigger and nicer now, just by adding skylights and vaulting the ceiling.
