Statement of Commitment
AFIT values diversity, equity and inclusion as fundamental and necessary elements for educational excellence.
We define diversity broadly, to include the demographics of age, cognitive abilities, color, ethnicity, gender, genetic information, sexual orientation, national origin, physical abilities race and religion. In addition, we also value diversity of talents, interests, and experience as represented by educational background, professional experience, cultural knowledge, geographic origins, socioeconomic backgrounds, language skills, life experiences, philosophical, and spiritual perspectives.
We will continue to actively plan, resource and implement measures to create a more equitable and inclusive environment that is accessible and welcoming to all. Fostering an increasingly diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment will enrich our teaching and learning, strengthen the AFIT family, inform better decision-making, improve mission execution, and better enable us to meet the most difficult Air Force challenges and achieve the AFIT vision.
