New followers: Whatever you were expecting, you'll probably be disappointed. But come in anyway. The kettle's over there, tea & coffee are in the cupboard. Make yourselves comfy.

Whilst following up a constituents enquiry regarding ploughing I accidentally Googled a website that showed a form of ploughing I was hitherto unfamiliar with. I was amazed to find this was porn as the opening credits said that it featured Massive Ferguson #Tractorgate

Having had a quick look I don’t think that there is a single genuinely working class person on the board of trustees of any of the national museums and galleries in the U.K. Hard to see how these institutions can claim to be representative when they so clearly aren’t.

For the benefit of all the people who became overnight experts on freedom of speech & international content moderation standards this week, here is a 41-part podcast series on how we arrived at the norms we use offline and on. It starts in ancient Greece.

A 5m tall puppet has been “washed up” on to the beach at Cleethorpes. As the day goes on it will be making its way further up the beach. It’s also making its way to Hornsea, Whitby, Filey, Brid and Scarborough over next 8 days.

So I've started a government petition, which has five supporters to get it to become live, the cause being "Ban the sale of alcohol at the Palace of Westminster"

Found it. It is Edinburgh Napier University.

BTW, which University in Scotland is actually teaching midwives that men can give birth through their penis? I mean they should be named. I wouldn't want anyone trained by them to come within 10 feet of me. twitter.com/meljomur/statu…

On Tues, spoke to man who lost most of brother’s family after Russians opened fire on convoy. One 7 year old grandkid survived: “He told me he saw granddad in flames, mummy in flames and brother in flames, and he couldn’t help them. What can I tell him?” What can anyone tell him

Can somebody explain WHY the price of my heating oil is shooting up, when #Scotland (where I live) is surrounded by #oil fields?

Just had this month's heating oil bill. It's nearly double January's bill, even though I was running the heating 24/7 back then, while I've had it on for only 8 hours a day this month and last month. I am so FUCKING ANGRY, I want to go down to London and kick some politicians!

A mysterious one-day directorship, a £491k loan, a Cayman Island firm specifically designed to keep banking bonuses offshore and a flat refusal to answer the Eye’s question about any of it: the new Eye attempts to untangle the issues around Sajid Javid’s dubious non-dom status.

Today I have enhanced a great autochrome by Alfred Stieglitz, taken 115 years ago in June 1907. Two men are playing chess in Hoboken, New Jersey, in what is probably the earliest colour photo of a chess match! This is an original colour photo, not colourised.
