Updated review of Wix

Terrible unethical company that borders on Criminal. They have a feature to provide your business with a phone number you can use in their app, I signed up for it, but did not like it. However I wanted to keep the phone number, but they refused to let me port it over. Basically they held my business phone number, (and business) hostage. It took quite a bit of money to get a new phone number for my business and change all of my signage and stationary. Then I set the auto-renew to off, however, once the year came around they renewed everything. I complained to them and requested a refund but was denied. I honestly didn't expect a refund from such a crooked company. Buyer Beware!! --------------------------------------------------------- Update After posting this review Ihave updated my rating from 1 start to 3. A Wix representative reached out to me and was able to refund the money that auto-renewed. He also was the only representative to apologize and acted in an ethical manner. While I think the damage is done and I will no longer do business with Wix, I do want to give them credit for reaching and attempting to rectify the situation.

Rip off, that's how you build your reputation?

I purchased a 2-year plan for $276 and in the next couple months someone from Wix called me to talk about creating an online store, basically to upgrade to their more expensive plan. Before upgrading I asked if I decide to cancel what is the procedure and they said I can cancel in the next 14 days and they'll issue a refund so I said ok. They deducted the remaining balance on my existing plan($245) and said they offer a one-time discount of 50%. So I said ok. Later I decided I don't need this upgrade and want to just go back to the plan. It took them more than a month to do anything, and when they finally issued a refund for the upgrade my whole plan was cancelled(the one from before) so I basically remained without my website working. When I talked to them they said they cannot adn will not refund anything so I can purchase back the plan neither to reinstate my old plan. They basically ripped me off $245. I am looking to proceed with a lawsuit.

In general, when upgrading to the new plan, the credits from the previous plan are used for the purchase of the new plan and the previous plan is automatically cancelled. Later if you decide that you don't want to use the upgraded plan you need to purchase a completely new plan as the initial plan was cancelled.

Horrible horrible horrible customer…

Horrible horrible horrible customer service as so many others have mentioned. They are the absolute WORST company I have ever dealt with. Don’t waste your time or money. I have my website through wix and acquired a business number through them. Come to finally discover it’s not been working. I cannot call out, I can’t receive calls or text. Of course I contacted them but it is a constant run around of emails and “because we care” emails to click on a link that never works. I have literally not talked to anyone and have had a bazillion emails and have had about 10 different customer reps tell me that they will escalate my issue!! Nope!!! I’ve now cancelled my mailbox thru them and this business line that has never worked… no wonder I haven’t received any business!!! NO ONE CAN CONTACT ME!!!! I’ve paid thru this until January 2022. I have talked to my wireless provider as wix suggested twice and they keep telling me it’s Wix’s problem. DONT USE WIX. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS. And now let’s see if they give me a nice little response asking me to “contact them”. Maybe I need to consult my lawyer to inquire about loss of income and Wix not providing a refund for a business line that has never worked. Look at all the other reviews… same issues!!!

I was charged $72.00 for a mailbox on…

I was charged $72.00 for a mailbox on 6/25/21 after I believed I had cancelled everything when I requested that the domain be transfered on 6/8/21. Without the domain, I did not need the mailbox. And I had turned off the auto renewal feature sometime ago. But my credit card was charged anyway. At the very least, the mailbox should have been canceled or suspended for lack of payment. I requested a refund of $72.00 using their Special Circumstances Refund Request Form but was denied the refund that same day without any explaination. UPDATE: Since posting this review, WIX reversed their decission regarding their refund policy and issued me a full refund of $72.00. Thank you Wix and thank you Trust Pilot.

Very bad customer service

I'm using Wix.com for several years and I have 3 different websites using this platform. I've decided to cancel Premium Plan for my online shop, because after running it 4+ years our turnover is very low and I've got zero profit from it. So I have decided to cancel my plan 1 day after my yearly subscription has renewed and I found out that if you miss your renewal date, you don't get anything back and you have to stick with this service for whole subscription period without claim to compensation. I've tried to contact Wix directly and requested call back, which has happened in very awkvard way...I have 5 missed calls but my phone wasn't ringing once...I don't know how they do it! Now Wix has left message saying they couldn't reach...so I've requested call back again and the same thing has happened....unfortunately the WIX customer service call me then put the phone down on me. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. I am very dissapointed with 2 things. 1. Impossibility to cancel Premium Plan after missing renewal date - zero refund, if you don't wish to your service 2. Customer care Update: There was many "missed calls" again, but I've just received an email from WIX customers support team and they're trying to help me with my inquiry.

If I could give a ZERO I would

If I could give a ZERO I would! I am appalled at all of the many complaints that are exactly like the one I am about to make. They are thief's and frauds and should be closed and ever allowed to destroy another person! Their practices are downright despicable and I would guess tow the fine line of being possibly illegal!!! Like so many of you, I too was charged a ridiculous $200+ for a renewal on a site that had not been set up for an auto renewal, well over 2 weeks before it should have been without any notice whatsoever!!! I called within the first 24 hours to only be told of the time suck dumb ass process they have for requesting a refund! I should not have to ask permission to get my money back that they basically STOLE from me and therefore DRAINED MY ACCOUNT TO ZERO!!! YOU DISGUST ME!! You specifically state: "You may disable auto-renewal or cancel your subscription at any time in your account settings; we'll send you a reminder before you're charged." but none of that matters if you do whatever you want and do not care what the customer was told and/is counting on. Guess what? WITHOUT THE CUSTOMERS YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS!!! i sincerely hope no one is as dumb as I was and voluntarily chooses Wix...STAY AWAY!!! Where is my refund that you stole????

Paid £122.40 for premium however the…

Paid £122.40 for premium however the web site URL is not working and hasn't been for months now. Tried to get a refund only to be told a few hours later my refund request has been denied. Shocking how corporations this big can get away with scamming people. Avoid at all costs, and the sheer amount of negative reviews on here clearly show this. I've got a good mind to contact the authorities about this as this is just unacceptable.

Bought website & domain

Bought website & domain, charged £156, zero support for website, no interest from WIX, a dreadful company. No refund either. Stay well clear this is a completely dishonest site.

Legit Company - Pretty Decent Customer Service

So I had previously left a bad review saying that their customer service was nonexistent that it was pretty much a scam that it was impossible to get refunds. This is not true and they called me back after I left the bad review and gave me a full refund on everything despite my policy being passed the refund date and the customer service was actually not bad at all. If you have trouble with customer service, ask to speak to a supervisor, same as any other company :).

Clunky and non intuitive

Clunky and non intuitive. The software wouldn't let me transfer my .co.uk domain name, apparently that suffix is not supported! Otherwise very lacking in features. You can only edit the entire section so have to make do with the typeface sizes. You can't for instance, alter the size of the heading without altering the rest of the box so you need to have separate boxes for heading and text. Personally I found it frustrating and very limiting and have cancelled my subs and requested a refund. It's a mystery where the high reviews came from. My experience is not the same.

Heartless, cruel people.

UPDATE: I was pretty devastated and upset when I wrote this review. It is a LOT of money for me. It was not an easy task to find their customer service and I had to go to their facebook page and follow a link that was provided to somebody else who had a complaint. It has been escalated and I will supposedly be contacted within 20 days. "I got a wix site a couple of years ago. I used it for a small amount of time and then covid hit. I lost my job and hadn't accessed the email account attached to the wix site. They upped my plan and took out 2 years worth for some "premium account" that I never signed up for, over USD$759 (over $1000 australian dollars), almost twice what I paid last invoice and not an authorised auto-renewal. I didn't see it come out of my credit card until a month later (14 days after their cancellation date). They denied my refund, even though I never authorised this "premium account". I now have an overdrawn credit card, no income and a totally useless website. DO NOT TRUST Wix. Something has seriously changed within this company. It's enough to push a person over the edge. I hope you enjoy your money, because I may not be around to use your business."

Wix has changed, take your business elsewhere

I have used wix for many years but something terrible has happened within the organization and they have gone down hill FAST. Customer service went out the window. Not even a way to reach them. Transferring my domain has been a nightmare, my new provider HostGator can’t even get a hold of them. Way to treat a long time customer of yours! A refund would be nice for all the frustrations they’ve caused. Stay away from Wix.

Wix lacks transparency and active…

Wix lacks transparency and active customer support. I purchased a site with my organization in 2020, we could not afford a renewal so I cancelled it but was still charged so I requested a refund, which was immediately denied with no explanation. There is no customer service to help me get a refund and no active concern for my situation. I highly do not recommend using wix

Thieves and overpriced

Faulty premium plan services, allowed to have me take 2 subscriptions simultaneously, and refusing to either refund, or make them follow up on each other (rather then run at the same time). They basically presume that once you run your website there, you won't remove it. For the rest they are freakishly expensive, pretty bad support (see example above). All in all they'll never see me back with my websites. Be warned up front: don't go to these guys, there are many better alternatives out there.

Horrible company who rip you off illegally

I attach the invoice dated May 2019 I was wrongly charged as I was not a premium customer since Oct 2018 and a second invoice was similarly generated this year in May 2021 which was also wrong. I spoke to Customer support on 1 June 2021 who agreed that refund should be issued for both invoices (May 2019 and May 2021 invoices). He agreed that I was wrongly charged and refund will be issued. However, I have only received one refund for May 2021 invoice but the refund on the invoice INVOICE #436147263 (May 2019) is still outstanding. I would like to bring to your attention that I would be taking this case with the small cases Courts for resolution as I strongly believe that you have charged me incorrectly, when I have already left wix.com in October 2018 and I had paid for the premium plan until may 2019, so the invoice was wrongly generated in may 2019 for which you have refused to issue the refund, this is no different to the refund you have issued for the invoice generated in may 2021 when I’m still not a premium member of wix.com Do make a note of this that I would not be recommending any friend or family member to join wix.com platform anymore and to take it further I would also be posting criticism on the Internet about wix.com as to how you wrongly charged people and will also share it on the social media platform. You will have your own way of explaining and justifying things but at the end of the day you have charged me wrongly for which I should not have been charged. I enclose the copy of the invoice of may 2019 for reference. I would urge you to review the situation again and come out clean and issue me the refund. I am a senior citizen in their 80s and I do need to be treated with some respect and dignity rather than ripping me off of my hard earned money for no fault of mine. Received Review Post reply from wix.com as shown here and again there is no email I have received. WIX.COM > LISTEN > You should refund the wrongly taken money from my credit card (just because you had card on file does not mean that you charge people illegally), this was in May 2019 when I was NOT your premium customer and you fictitiously charged me hefty amount as a premium customer. I will continue to ensure that you DO NOT GET NEW CUSTOMERS and want them to be aware of your wrong doings. DO REFUND THE MONEY OF A SENIOR CITIZEN

No response from customer service

I emailed Wix customer service to request a refund and 4 weeks later I have still not received an email addressing my concerns. My account was put on auto-renew without realising it, as they do not make it clear, and was charged a lot of money. It is a shame as I had enjoyed their service up until this point. Very disappointed.

Auto Renewal

UPDATED: this has literally been sorted out in days and the refund in my bank account. Thanks Wix... faith restored! Sadly, my business was unsuccessful and I had to close so I didn't get any notification about the renewal. The price has doubled and I didn't know about the auto renewal. Don't know why I can't get a refund on the basis of 14 days after 'purchase' when I clearly 'purchased' the years' subscription 3 days ago when it left my bank account, and not 12 months ago. Strangely, my subscription isn't even due to start for this next 'year' until 8th June and it's only 29th May as I type this review! Very naughty Wix - It's not even allowed for in your refund policy. Very disappointed, as I have often recommend you to others but who can afford to lose almost £200 because of a technicality!

There is no need for refund when your…

There is no need for refund when your company is Eminen Enterprises and if the process doesnt go through it means its not meant for that one individual to claim a refund so they call it. The system is already prompted to signify if the individual is committing fraud.

Words cannot describe how much I…

Words cannot describe how much I dislike this "service" website. Last year I purchased premium pro for $138 AND $9.90 for a custom domain. I was not satisfied due to the fact that combo itself costs a lot. Upon noticing how slow and occasionally buggy my Wix site is, I coded a replica on my own (which I am quite happy with) and canceled the premium plan. After, I requested a refund because i realized I wasted money on a false cause. but surprise, my request was denied without any explanation. I emailed back and asked why it was rejected but they never got back to me. So I contacted them on the support page and said I can’t get my $147.90 back because it’s surpassed 14 days. Yes, despite the fact they literally say "If the first 14 days have ended and you feel you deserve a refund, click here to tell us why and we will review your request" on their very page Above all else they are the reason why Deviantart’s layout is such a mess. They took away everything that gave the site its identity. Deviantart. Of all places. I paid money for these guys only to receive this BS as a “thank you” in return. #DoNotUseWix
