The Scottish PlumberI have been using The Scottish Plumber for many years. I made an appointment for my parent’s house as their basement flooded and the sewer water was very high. Frankie came out and explained things very clearly. He was the best. With all the rain we had, he first checked the city sewer water level and it was flowing very good or not backed up. We have a sewer clean out in the front yard so he rodded the sewer lines from there and pulled out a lot of tree roots. Our tenants upstairs may be flushing wipes as this was noticeable as well. Once these were cleared out the basement water drained out quickly. The service and communication was the best throughout. They also arrived on time even though they had a truck breakdown.- Rich R.

I had RJ Graham come out for a second opinion knowing they would be honest with me about my issue. I contacted Skyline Appliance Repair during the week from 2/1/2022 to 2/7/2022 and again during the week of 2/7/2022-2/14/2022. I called them several times and no one answered the phone so I left a detailed voice message of the problem with my telephone number. I waited several days and NO ONE RETURNED MY CALL. I called them again and got the same result. I finally decided that I was going to call them one last time and got through to a rep whose name I won't mention and scheduled an appointment for home service. On the day of the appointment I waited from 11-1 (the designated time window) and no one called or showed up. Keep in mind that I work nights, so I was tired and needed to go to sleep. About 45 minutes later I got a voice mail message from a rep saying they will "try to fit me in today" which were his exact words. I called back several times and AGAIN, got no answer. A couple hours later I finally got through and spoke to a rep who reiterated rescheduling the service. I was fed up and told him that I was going to hire someone else. These past two weeks we have had really bad weather in the Chicago area but what does that have to do with returning phone calls in a timely fashion and being courteous? NOTHING! My experience with Skyline Appliance Repair left me with the firm belief that this company is disorganized and mismanaged. Maybe if your reading this you will have better luck. I still have to get my oven repaired.

If we could give less than 1 star, we would. I have never had a repairman this unprofessional and downright terrible as this. With first contact, they did respond quickly and the owner's brother came out. He said we needed a new pump, which he had with him. He said that we also needed a hose replaced, which he could do the next day. He didn't show in promised window the next day, but eventually showed and replaced it. Machine started leaking again the next day. We contact the owner, Rich, who said that he said that he would get someone out to take care of it. He didn't show until the next day, made some adjustments which would stop the leaking, and needed to return again the next day with a missing part. The machine started leaking within an hour of his leaving. Despite calling and texting him frequently (he rarely replied) for two days, he kept coming up with excuses why he couldn't make it. He only agreed to come when I told him that he needed to refund the money or make us first on the list the next day. He came the next day (literally saying that the only reason he did was because he lives nearby), did some fairly extensive work, and said that it was fixed. Four days later, the machine flooded everywhere. We've reached out to him, but haven't heard a reply. Honestly, we wouldn't trust to come into our home again, but I was hoping for a refund. Since he did so much work on the machine which only made things worse and worse, I don't feel comfortable having some one else fix it, so we're going to have to replace it. Also, we've had extensive water damage, so have to have floors and walls replaced. If he had done the work in a timely manner, much of that would have been avoided. This company has awful business practices, unprofessional behavior, and does not appear to have technical competence. I you value your home, do not use them.
