I was worried because the old locks had different dimensions than ones sold today. The locksmith simply bored new holes over the old ones, so the new locks look original. I like the way the door, now, closes tightly against the weatherstripping. I think the price was reasonable.

One lock had become so kludged that the latch wouldn't come out, and the door wouldn't even stay shut. We also had, for a variety of reasons, some mismatched locks on other doors. The folks at Circle City Lock and Key contacted me quickly after I submitted my request through Angie's List, were extremely flexible in arranging a visit, and arrived on time. My wife met with them, so I relay only what she said, but she reported that they were extremely helpful, that they explained the problem with the lock / latch, and even suggested a product for preventative maintenance. They worked on re-keying all the locks so the same key would work on all of them, which was a bit more of a challenge than I had realized (I was confused about which locks various keys worked on, had passed my misunderstanding on to my wife, and she had then passed that on to the Circle City folks). She was very happy and impressed with the time and care they spent on our job, and we both were pleasantly surprised by the charge. I would strongly recommend them to anyone in need of locksmith services.

Apex Lock and Key LocksmithI was really impressed - Juan showed up on time and was extremely knowledgable and courteous. He spent 3 1/2 hours working straight through with no break to replace the door knobs, strike plates, and deadbolts on three of my doors. He made sure my outside doors were keyed the same and that I had extra keys. Then he fixed the strike plates on my interior doors because they weren't shutting properly. KeyLogic LocksmithIt went 100% better then I expected. Before coming to Angies list I contact 3 other companies. Each of those companies could not give me an exact cost of what would be charged. I have seen where people say one thing and then add so many other charges and fees its almost double or more then what I was expected. The gentlemen from Keylogic Locksmith explained every charge before coming out. And his costs saved me well over $200 from the other quotes I was given as a starting price. For this being my very first impression of the services from Angieslist it was a 12 out of 10 if that was possible. Locksmith-ConnectionsI called this company to have house locks rekeyed. I was told that a tech would contact me in 5 minutes, it was an hour later. The locksmith said he would be at our house in 30 minutes. An hour and a half later he called and said he was on his way to the office and did I still want him to come. As it was still fairly early, 4:30 pm, I said yes. He arrived without a mask, which I provided for him. He then rushed through the house, counting locks. We have 8 locks with two different keyways, so all of the locks could not be keyed together. We did however have 5 Schlage locks and 3 locks that were off-brand but with the same keyway. When I tried to explain to him that the locks were of different ages and that I did not expect them to have the same keys, he ignored me and went from door to door trying the keys. He shrugged and said that he couldn't do anything because the key to one of the Schlage locks wouldn't turn in the lock. He then left, having done nothing, charging me $65 dollars for literally less than 10 minutes in our house. Today I called a local locksmith that said the locks with similar keyways could all be keyed together so that rather than having 5 different keys, we would have 2. This locksmith was obviously rushed, had no desire to do the work, and just wanted to get off for the day. Really, really bad service.- Maggie T.
