Metropolitan Moving & StorageFollowing the death of my father, I contacted Metropolitan Moving and Storage to move my mother from Silver Spring, MD to Charlotte, NC and make a stop to drop some furniture off in Mount Jackson, VA. Everyone with whom we spoke and worked were absolutely wonderful! We scheduled an estimator and a few days later Edward came to the house. In less than an hour he provided an estimate and scheduled her move. Not only was he extremely polite and compassionate, he was spot on with the estimate. My parents and I have moved with the government several times in the past. This move was markedly different. The movers who packed and loaded the trucks stayed with the household goods and unpacked them upon arriving at their destination. The office called to confirm the delivery of boxes and the move dates. On the packing and moving days, Luis and his crew arrived a few minutes early so they would be punctual. We were surprised by such wonderful service. They had our three-bedroom house loaded in two trucks in less than four hours, including moving a Steinway Grand Piano! Luis and his crew were unbelievably disciplined and efficient. Once completed I spoke with Justin to follow-up on our wonderful experience. He and Lena continued to provide unmatched customer service to this day. I highly recommend this team and will definitely use them when I move from Virginia.- David M.

Metropolitan Moving & StorageJon Neal, owner of Metropolitan Moving and Storage, visited our home to begin the process and was most informative with suggestions as to how to contain costs with many suggestions. He provided us with an estimate for moving our personal items and his crew packing fragile items -- which included an art collection, glass collection and pottery collection -- all highly fragile, and of great value. He returned closer to the moving date to confirm the estimate -- and since I did follow his suggestions, my estimate was considerably lower! He did provide boxes and packing materials prior to the move so that I could do as he had suggested. We set up dates, his crew arrived and I have never seen a crew of men work so diligently, quickly, responsibly, carefully and with joy and good humor! They were amazing! We had a great time with them -- very professional, tending to their work but always interested in helping us in any way they could. Arrived on time and completed the packing phase as estimated. They returned the next morning as planned, and right to work! Again, such hard workers clearly enjoying their work and their team. A delight to have in our home! And their packing! When we finally met them at the new (much smaller home) we had some trouble fitting all the boxes in the house! Great humor -- pack it to the ceiling! We began the unpacking -- amazing how carefully they packed each item. Not a scratch anywhere -- not a crack in the glass! We unpacked part of our collection that night and were able to set it up immediately...all safely and carefully delivered to our new home for our next adventure. I don’t usually leave reviews, but wanted to express my gratitude and share the great experience I had with X SWyFT Logistics. In addition to numerous communication prior to their arrival just to keep me informed, one of the owners actually stopped by to meet me in person to ensure that everything was meeting their standards. They were extremely professional and efficient and moved my furniture with extra care. Even though it was only two people, the productivity was equivalent to your average four movers. I will definitely be seeking out when moving in the future and again, thank you so much for your excellent service.

The owner, office staff and moving team were all extremely professional and know their job well. Based on a video walk-thru the owner knew exactly how many trucks and movers and how much time we'd need. The estimate was spot on. Everything was handled carefully, large items that were disassembled were reassembled in place at the end. The moving team was happy to shift furniture and boxes to different rooms as I re-evaluated the space in the new house. I never want to move again, but if I had to I would definitely use them.

I wish there was a 0 stars option for GJ Moving. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. The management at GJ is unprofessional. They also have a transparency problem. My experience: As a “professional” moving company, you are supposed to clear the height of your moving truck. GJ failed to do this beforehand, doubling their moving time. I was unfairly charged for this additional time- for THEIR mistake. I called to dispute the charge. Jayson Chapman at management told me he would return my call to reach an agreement. Instead, I’m met with COMPLETE silence. Then, the full amount, including the unfair upcharge, was withdrawn from my bank account. I specifically mentioned that I did NOT consent to being charged before a discussion. They took the money anyway. I have yet to receive a response from Jayson Chapman, or anyone at GJ for that matter. On top of this: Most of my furniture was damaged. My items were handled carelessly. No mats or coverings for the floors. Not COVID safe. Clearly, GJ Moving thinks they can get away with treating customers like this. This is not a company committed to customer satisfaction. Extremely disappointed with GJ Moving. Stay far away from this company.

I received several price quotes from different moving companies - Randall came in much lower than others. They didn't offer bells and whistles like some bigger companies - but their stellar reviews convinced me take a chance on a smaller company. They did not disappoint. The crew took so much care with our things - they wrapped the furniture, listened to us when we had concerns, tetris-ed everything into the truck. There was no doubt that our moving crew was professional and really cared about their jobs and their customers. They hustled and worked hard the whole day - and finished early - which saved us money. I would definitely recommend Randall's moving.
