The world we know today was in part fashioned by their innovations and approaches to science. We pay respect to their traditions, ways of knowing and acknowledge their innovations in STEM. (+)

This is the 1st fully Indigenous exhibit at Science North, that celebrates the knowledge, inventions, and contributions of First Peoples to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island have long demonstrated a great sense of ingenuity.(+)

Today we're sharing a video we have put together to celebrate the current special exhibit at Science North: Indigenous Ingenuity – Timeless Inventions. (+)

This moment has given us much cause for careful consideration of the path forward and the ongoing commitment that Science North will make towards truth, reconciliation, and tangible action. (+)

The most recent, tragic discovery of unmarked graves has served as a reminder not only of the legacy of residential schools but of the responsibility of all non-Indigenous Canadians to acknowledge this part of our history. (+)

In a surprise twist, the Grand Prize winnings were generously donated to Science North’s Indigenous Programming Fund allowing Science North to further exceed its target!
