New God Vulcan - handy around the house

Last week, we set you the challenge of snapping pictures of your mad, powerful, custom PC rigs with the aim of winning a brand new Alienware TactX keyboard and mouse. It was all to celebrate the release of new God Vulcan (no, nothing to do with Star Trek) in MOBA game Smite.

We had two major requests of Orcs Must Die!: let us play with friends, and let us play forever. Orcs Must Die! 2 launches later this month with both of those features, and we want to be the first ones to show you them tossed together.

Dota 2 updates continue, but should we review the game?

As I type this, Dota 2 is the most popular game on Steam and is being played by 52,219 people. This is a game that’s supposedly still in closed beta, one that has numerous holes waiting to be filled by proposed features, and which is still being updated all the time.

But given that it’s easy to get in to the Dota 2 beta (you can even buy your way in), and given that you can pay for items in the Dota 2 store now, should PC Gamer review the game? We’d like to hear what you think.

    Guild Wars 2 Red Team

The first Guild Wars 2 beta weekend event for pre-purchase players begins tonight at 8pm GMT (12pm PDT). European players are cordially invited to join the PC Gamer community in exploring the game for the first time.

The leader of our Guild Wars community, Archernick, has rallied the troops on the Desolation EU server. He’s started a thread on the PC Gamer forum where you can find out more and share your contact details. There’s also a thread on downloading the GW2 client if you’ve already got access.

All of the keys have been given out! Thanks again to everyone who participated!

Greetings, PCG visitors! Stay awhile, and listen! We’ve got a heap of Diablo III beta codes, and we want to give them to you. Whether you’re amped to play the crafty Wizard, cold-blooded Demon Hunter, combo-centric Monk, shamanistic Witch Doctor, or the classic Barbarian, this will be your chance to get ahead of the pack.

We’ll be giving away the codes en masse on the PC Gamer Facebook and Twitter pages; simply find the post, hit the “Like” button, then click “Reshare.” Once we’ve hit our (super-secret) tallies, we’ll throw out another batch of codes like money onto a crowded street. No longer do you need to consider sacrificing a goat to Rakanishu to get Diablo III beta access—this is your chance!

    TOR confuse 190

A month ago, BioWare announced they’d be holding a summit of The Old Republic guild leaders near their Austin, TX offices to gather feedback from the community and share their vision for the game’s future. Well, my Jedi and Sith friends, the time is almost here.

The Summit takes place on Monday, and we’re going to be there representing our official guild and PC Gamer as a whole. In addition to livestreaming some of the panels here on the site next week, we also want to pass along your feedback to the developers. So let us know what you like and don’t like about TOR, and what you think BioWare should do about it.

    Rift Wedding Invite 2

I’m starting to suspect that Valentine’s Day is more about seasonal MMO events than it is about intimacy or affection or spending time with a loved one. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

As we reported last week, Rift are celebrating the gift card industry’s happiest day of the year with an attempt to break the Guiness world record for most in-game marriages in a day. We’ll be taking part: at 7.00pm GMT tonight on the European Icewatch server, Tom Senior and I will be tying the virtual knot. This is what we are actually doing with our Valentine’s evening. We’d like you to join us. Please?

How one WoW fan is memorializing the big bad bosses of yesteryear

Cataclysm might’ve saved Azeroth, but Andrew Kuhar believes that the old world deserved a proper send off. We talked with the longtime World of Warcraft player and PCG reader about the vintage posters themed after old school bosses he’s making, and what the heck that really abstract one is all about. Best of all, you can download these gorgeous posters with the click of your mouse—just click which ones you want (we recommend all of them) and you’ll be downloading the 50MB original file in no time. We wouldn’t be offended if you took ‘em to the printers to be made into actual posters; there’s no doubt that your end-game experience will be enhanced as you reflect on bosses past, staring at your from your wall, while you raid the newest content.
