MyBuilder's Culture & Values

We believe MyBuilder is a special company. We believe that life is too short to put up with a crappy job, so we choose to do something meaningful. And we choose to to be great at what we do, and to work together constructively and to support each other. As a result, MyBuilder succeeds, and we find ourselves lucky enough to be able to bring more great people on board to join our team.

But of course, that's not all - we have important values in our company. We look for these values in applicants, and we reinforce them when we promote people, or let them go. We want to work with people who are curious, honest, courageous and passionate. We also need everyone in the team to exhibit good judgment, communicate well and work effectively - as a member of the team.

MyBuilder was founded by Ryan Notz, a stonemason who simply wanted a better way to find work. Ryan had a vision that was meaningful and relevant to him, and found that it could be summed up in a simple mission statement that people can understand and be passionate about:

"Help homeowners find the right tradesmen and help tradesmen find more work."

MyBuilder is a success story, having grown from a garage in Bristol to fantastic offices in Central London, and is backed by Travis Perkins Group, Channel 4, and a host of the best angel and seed investors in the UK. More importantly, MyBuilder has succeeded in helping tens of thousands of people by focusing the efforts of a small team on a simple mission. We believe that MyBuilder is the best and most effective platform of its kind in the world, and the company is growing faster than any competitor as a result. Together, we look forward to discovering what 2010 will bring, the ups, the downs, and the great unknown.
