Amazon’s extensive Fulfilment network maximises efficiency making it possible to provide competitive pricing for Fulfilment by Amazon. How does pricing work?

There are no additional set-up charges or subscription fees when you add Fulfilment by Amazon to your seller account. Fulfilment fees vary depending on the type of item (media or non-media), its dimensions and weight, and the shipping method used. For example you can have us fulfil a 400 g book for just 55 pence or a 1 kg electronics item for just £1.85*

FBA Programme Fees

* Prices are based on non-oversized items and do not include sales commission, variable closing fees (if applicable) and storage costs.

How it Works

How it works

Step 1 You send your products to Amazon.

You send your new or used products to Amazon’s Fulfilment centres.

  • Upload your listings to Amazon’s system.
  • Let Amazon fulfil all or part of your inventory.
  • Amazon provides PDF labels and shipping status.
  • Select your own carrier and arrange the shipment.

Unsuitable Products

Before listing products for Fulfilment by Amazon, it is important to know what is suitable for our fulfilment process and what is not. There are four criteria that can make products unsuitable for Fulfilment by Amazon:

Categories Requiring Approval

For some product categories, Amazon limits the addition of new sellers and closely monitors seller performance to ensure a high-quality experience for buyers. These measures are taken because of the types of products sold in the category, and often reflect concerns about consumer safety, product quality, branding, or import and export restrictions.

You can sell items in the following categories: Books, Music, DVD, VHS, Baby, Toys & Games, Electronics & Computing, Home & Garden, Shoes, Software, Sports & Leisure, DIY & Tools and PC & Video Games. Prior approval is required to sell in the following categories: Clothing, Health & Beauty and Jewellery & Watches. Contact us to request approval.

Restricted Products

Certain products are not allowed on the Amazon.co.uk website under any conditions. Some products may not be sold as a matter of compliance with legal or regulatory restrictions, for example, prescription drugs. Specific product content is prohibited as a matter of Amazon policy, for example, crime scene photos.

Please see our Restricted Products pages for more information about prohibited and permitted products. For additional information regarding prohibited content and copyright violations, please see our Seller Offenses & Prohibited Content page.

Hazardous Materials

In addition, materials that pose a health risk due to toxic chemicals or volatile substances are not permitted. For a complete list of products restricted in our fulfilment centre, see our FBA Manual 2.5 Product Restrictions.

Improper Packaging

Amazon has established packaging requirements that help provide a safe working environment in the fulfilment centres while enabling an efficient fulfilment process. Included with the packaging requirements are physical limitations on the products we will handle in our fulfilment centres. Large or heavy items can pose dangers to employees and interfere with the fulfilment process. See FBA Manual 5.8 Packaging Requirements.

Upload listings

Fulfilment by Amazon offers three channels for uploading your listings to accommodate the scale of your business.

Add a Product

If you have a small number of items you want Amazon to fulfil for you, you can list them one at a time. This online tool in your seller account enables you to select items in the Amazon.co.uk catalogue or add new ones if you have a Pro Merchant account. Once you have your inventory listed, you can simply convert it to be fulfilled by Amazon. For more information, go to Listing Your Item.

Flat File Feeds

If you have large volumes of inventory, you can list items by uploading a flat file through the Upload tool in your seller account. We provide an Excel spreadsheet template that you can use to build the file. This method enables you to directly list them for Fulfilment by Amazon and bypass the conversion process. For more information, go to FBA Manual 4.3 Flat File Feeds.

API Integration

If you have large volumes of inventory and development resources available to you, you can integrate your own website or inventory management software with Amazon’s inventory catalogue using Amazon’s SOAP API. This method enables you to directly list them for Fulfilment by Amazon and bypass the conversion process. For more information, go to Amazon Fulfilment Web Services.

Create a Shipment

Once your listings have been converted to Fulfilment by Amazon, the shipping workflow will walk you through the process of creating a shipment.

You enter item quantities and select your carrier. The workflow will identify inventory that needs to be labelled and provide item labels, packing slips and shipment labels that you can print. We’ll also notify you of any errors and provide tips along the way to help you streamline the shipment process. Once your items are packed and your shipment is labelled, you can hand your shipment over to your carrier. If you have a large shipment, you can also arrange for less than truckload (LTL) or self-delivery.

For more information, go to FBA Manual 5.3 Shipping Work Flow .

Step 2 Amazon stores your products.

Amazon catalogues and stores your products in our ready-to-ship inventory.

  • Amazon receives and scans your inventory.
  • We record Item dimensions for storage.
  • You monitor inventory using our integrated tracking system.

Receiving Inventory at the Fulfilment Centre

Inventory you send to an Amazon fulfilment centre is generally scanned and made available for sale within three business days of being received. You can track the status of your shipment in the Shipping Queue with the status cycling through In Transit, Delivered, Checked-In, Receiving and finally Closed. During the Receiving process, your item barcodes are individually scanned and entered into the tracking system, the dimensions and weight are captured for storage and fulfilment purposes.

For more information, go to FBA Manual 5.4 Shipping Queue .

Protecting your Inventory

Our Fulfilment Centres offer a secure modern environment. We store inventory either in bulk or in individual “pickable” locations. Media products are stored on library-type shelving in vertical, spine out positions with loose stacking to avoid “shelf wear.” Specialty items like high-value goods may be placed in specific secure areas of the fulfilment centre as appropriate. If inventory is damaged or misplaced while in Amazon’s control in the fulfilment centre, we will purchase the inventory from you.

For more information, go to Fulfilment by Amazon Replacement Value Schedule .

Storage Rates

The unit dimensions are measured to the nearest 1/10" and the accumulated cubic feet of all your inventory is recorded each night for the total volume of your stored inventory. You pay for the average daily volume you have in storage during the month; this means you only pay storage for what is in our fulfilment centres while it is there.

For more information, go to the FBA Programme Fees or download the FBA Programme Fees (PDF).

Step 3 Customers order your products.

Amazon fulfils orders on your behalf – orders placed directly on Amazon.co.uk or Fulfilment requests you submit for sales not on Amazon.

  • Your listings rank by price alone since they are eligible for Super Saver Delivery.
  • Amazon Prime members can upgrade shipping options for your FBA listings
  • You can sell on Amazon.co.uk, your own website or anywhere you want and have orders fulfilled by Amazon

FBA Listing Advantages

Once your products are listed through Fulfilment by Amazon, your customers will be able to take advantage of offers such as FREE Super Saver Delivery, Amazon Prime shipping discounts, Express Delivery and Evening delivery in London and Birmingham with Fast Track Messaging as well as world class Amazon customer service just to name a few. When customers see “Fulfilled by Amazon” beneath your product listings, they know their orders will be fulfilled securely and on time.

For more information, go to Fulfilment by Amazon Programme.

Multi-Channel Fulfilment

With Multi-Channel Fulfilment, you can use Fulfilment by Amazon to fulfil orders from any sales channel. Once inventory is in our fulfilment centres, you can choose to sell it on Amazon.co.uk or not. When an order comes in, tell us where and how to ship it, and we’ll do the rest.

You can submit orders from your seller account, by uploading a flat-file feed or by integrating with Amazon’s SOAP API. You can select between Standard Delivery (1-day processing and 3-5 business days shipping), Two-day Delivery, or Next-day Delivery. Your packing slips will contain your business name and can include a customized message to the customer.

On Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders, you can work directly with your customers to handle customer service issues.

For more information, go to FBA Manual 7.4 Submit Orders for Multi-Channel Fulfilment.

Selling on Amazon Rates

With the exception of Multi-Channel Fulfilment orders, all Selling on Amazon fees will apply to purchases made on Amazon.co.uk. Unlike merchant fulfilled orders, you won’t receive a shipping credit.

For more information, go to Fees and Pricing or download the FBA Programme Fees (PDF)

Step 4 Amazon picks and packs your products

Fulfilment by Amazon picks your products from inventory and packages them.

  • Amazon locates your products using our advanced web-to-warehouse, high-speed picking and sorting system.
  • Customers can combine your orders with other items fulfilled by Amazon.

Branding

All Fulfilment by Amazon orders are shipped in Amazon branded boxes. The packing slip displays the Amazon brand and the name of the merchant. For Multi-Channel Fulfilment, you also have the option of adding a brief personalised message on the packing slip.

Pick & Pack Rates

All products fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk are assessed a Pick & Pack Fee. The amount of the fee varies depending on these criteria:

  • Dimensions and Weight: Standard or Oversize
  • Product Category: Media or non-media

For more information, see FBA Programme Fees or download the FBA Programme Fees (PDF).

Step 5 Amazon ships your products.

Amazon delivers the products to your customers from our network of Fulfilment centres.

  • Amazon ships customer orders using the method they choose.
  • We provide tracking information for customers.
  • For orders on Amazon.co.uk, customers can contact us for customer service.

Fulfilment Rates

The cost of fulfilment depends upon the origin of the order.
If the order was placed on Amazon.co.uk, you will be charged the following three fees:

  • Pick & Pack (per unit ordered)
  • Order Handling (per order)
  • Weight Handling (envelope max 300 g, box up to 2 kg, box over 2 kg)

For Multi-Channel Fulfilment (orders originating anywhere other than Amazon.co.uk), you will be charged the following fees

  • Pick & Pack (per unit ordered)
  • Shipping Method (per order – standard or expedited)
  • Shipping Weight

For more information, see FBA Programme Fees or download the FBA Programme Fees (PDF)

Customer Service

One of the advantages of Fulfilment by Amazon is the use of Amazon’s customer service to handle customer inquiries, refunds and returns. For orders from the Amazon.co.uk website that Amazon fulfils, we will manage all customer service associated with fulfilment of your products in the programme. Our online returns centre provides customers with help pages and details about how to contact us. If the customer wants to return a product, we direct the customer to our online Returns Centre.

FBA is ideal for our needs because it saves us a lot of time that can be better expended on market research, generating and purchasing new products, extending our range etc. Let’s face it, these are vital prerequisites of future growth – on all channels.”
Michael Hönle
Managing Director of Wimax, also known as Mundo del Arte Gmbh

FBA has likely been the best business decision we made in 2009—Sales are up and growing our business further is a very achievable goal”
Simon Mott
co founder and owner of Economic Comics

“Amazon currently contributes almost 50 percent of our sales volume with FBA slowly growing to increase this figure. Year on year, our Amazon sales are significantly higher, and we will beat last year’s total sales figure within the first nine months of this financial year.”
Dave Solomon
Founder and Managing Director DST (UK) Ltd

“Fulfilment by Amazon is well conceived and very clear. Amazon provided us with a good explanation of how it works. The programme is very easy to use. Since becoming an FBA merchant, Cinereplicas has been able to increase its turnover by 50 percent!”
Fabrice Bensoussan
Managing Director of Cinereplicas

“Our clients place an incredible amount of trust in Amazon. They can rely on their FBA goods arriving the next day if they order express delivery or within two days at the latest if they choose one of the other delivery options. With all other platforms, it takes a lot longer to transfer the money and arrange the delivery. The name Amazon automatically increases customer satisfaction.”
Pero Vrdoljak
Owner of Empressia.

“Amazon is our strongest channel with more than 69 percent of our business and the largest growth in the last year.

We didn’t anticipate the customer service element of FBA. We put a low tariff on it until we saw how quickly FBA customer service handled issues with our Amazon orders at peak periods. Customer service was a big advantage to us during our huge growth in December.

With the flexibility of FBA, I can now buy inventory at a time during the year that it is discounted. I can shrink and grow my inventory at any time, flexing up and down during on and off peak seasonality. Amazon is our favorite channel and Fulfilment by Amazon has enabled us to continue to meet our increase in sales. We plan to continue the strong relationship."
Mark Senior
Founder and Owner of Gamesbuyer.co.uk.

“In 2008 our sales with Amazon were 80 percent of those recorded with another on-line channel in the same period. This year our Amazon sales passed the mark of the previous 12-month period as early as June 10. This is at least partly due to Fulfilment by Amazon, even if we only joined in March 2009. Thanks to Fulfilment by Amazon, we can draw on almost unlimited stock maintaining capacity and are no longer forced to provide huge amounts of warehouse space on our own premises. We save a lot of time and human resources through not having to pack the goods for shipping to end customers ourselves. If we deliver from here, the costs are around 90 Euro cents higher per parcel than through Amazon, taking into account the carton, packing material, etc.

Fulfilment is easily the best thing Amazon has on the market. It lets entrepreneurs concentrate on the essentials. It works not just for sports goggles but for absolutely everything connected to sports and leisure."
Matthias Rosemann
Owner and Managing Director of Eye-Alpin

“Amazon enjoys an excellent reputation with German consumers. Despite this, the success of the partnership took us completely by surprise. Our sales with Amazon rocketed. All in all, business transactions are far less complicated than with alternative channels.

Fulfilment by Amazon relieves us of several tasks that other people can get done better. Our model is still the same but the door has been opened to new business opportunities."
René Kräupziger
Owner and Managing Director of 101Shirts

“Internet merchants never have a minute to spare because business in the twenty-first century is a 24/7 affair. Since joining FBA, I not only have more free time—I can also make better use of it for strategic buying, establishing contacts with new vendors, and sounding out sales opportunities in other countries, and so on.

Although we were highly automated, we had reached the limits of our capacity at close to three hundred parcels a day. Now they are packed for us by Amazon before I even get out of bed. For sellers who still do the majority of their outward handling manually, FBA is probably an extremely attractive proposition even with much smaller volumes than ours.

The price structure is so cheap that at first I found it difficult to believe. I had to telephone Support to get confirmation. If customers see that Radio Wolf ships via Amazon, they are more likely to order because they trust Amazon’s logistics. This is a clear competitive advantage."
Bruno Wirth
General Manager Radio Wolf

“I recorded a 40 percent increase in sales in October 2009 compared with the same period last year.”
Élise Phelippeau
founder of Un Monde Ludique

International Expand All

  • Can my FBA products be delivered to addresses outside the United Kingdom?
No. FBA items ordered on Amazon.co.uk or through Multi-Channel Fulfilment can only be delivered to addresses in the United Kingdom. This includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. This does not include Channel Island addresses.
  • Is Fulfilment by Amazon available outside the United Kingdom?
Yes. Fulfilment by Amazon is available in the Germany, France, the United States and Japan. To use these services, a seller must create a selling account under separate terms in these countries and manage the account separate from accounts in other geographies. For assistance with setting up accounts in any of these countries, please “Contact us”: /standards/contact-us/.
  • How can I manage high-volume imports to the United Kingdom?
If you have large import shipments, you will need to arrange your own customs broker who can clear the import shipment and then forward it on to Amazon’s fulfilment centre as the final destination. Amazon.co.uk may not be used as the import consignee or final address in shipping from overseas; a separate domestic shipment to Amazon’s fulfilment centre must be arranged for us to receive the inventory.
  • What if I want Amazon to export my products to a foreign country?
An export service is not available. FBA items ordered on Amazon.co.uk or through Multi-Channel Fulfilment can only be shipped to delivery addresses in the United Kingdom. 1. Amazon will determine from time to time those countries outside the UK, if any, to which it will ship foreign-eligible seller products (each such country, an Eligible Country ).
    2. Amazon may elect to determine shipping, export and import documentation and information (including incoterms) to be used in connection with shipments to Foreign Addresses that Amazon believes necessary, and such documentation and information may be based in part or in whole on information provided to Amazon by Seller. Seller will cause title to Seller Products shipped to Foreign Addresses to pass to the recipient at the point of shipment.
    3. Amazon may limit the total value of Foreign-Eligible Seller Products shipped to a single customer at a single Foreign Address in a single shipment. Amazon does not offer a service for filing shippers export declaration or be liable in any way for the filing (or failure to file) any shipper s export declarations for Seller Products shipped to Foreign Addresses and assumes no liability related to this function.
    4. Unless determined otherwise, shipments to Foreign Addresses will not be permitted to be returned, even if requested by the customer. If any shipment to a Foreign Address is refused or damaged, or if delivery of any shipment to a Foreign Address is otherwise prevented, Seller hereby authorises Amazon to abandon at Amazon’s discretion such shipment to the carrier or to gift such shipment to the customer on behalf of Seller.
    5. Amazon will not calculate or display any taxes, duties or other assessments with respect to orders for Seller Products that are designated for shipment to Foreign Addresses.

Preparing Product Units for Fulfilment by AmazonExpand All

  • How do I prepare units for shipment to you?
Each unit you ship to us should be ready for us to pack and ship to customers. Fragile items need to be individually packed with protective material such as Styrofoam or bubble wrap. Please refer to the Fulfilment by Amazon Merchant Manual for other product preparation requirements.
  • Why do I need to label my product?
Each unit must be labelled so that the correct item can be picked from inventory in Amazon’s fulfilment centre and shipped to your customer. Labels also help in tracking units you have in inventory at Amazon’s fulfilment centres. Shipments that are received without proper labelling may be returned to you. You can print labels from your seller account or use existing scannable labels (EAN or UPC).
  • What is labelling?
Labelling is the process of attaching a unique product identifier (such as a SKU) with its barcode onto the product. The label needs to be attached to each unit or to the outside packaging of the unit so that the entire label is visible. You need to ensure that each unit that is shipped to us has a label on its packaging that complies with these rules, including a scannable bar code containing the correct Amazon identifier. If any unit is shrink-wrapped or in a protective case, you will need to ensure that the bar code is scannable without needing to remove the shrink-wrap or case. The label must also cover the original barcode completely.
  • What is on a label?
A label has a product identifier specific to Amazon Fulfilment Services, including a barcode of the product identifier, item description, and item condition.
  • Which units require labelling?
Every unit must be labeled whether using the labels provided by your seller account or the original scannable label (UPC or EAN).
  • How do I print labels for my products?
After we provide you the information needed for the labels, print labels for the registered products from your seller account or using third-party software designated by Amazon. Labels will have the product description to help you match the label to the correct product. ". These can be found at any office supply store or you can purchase them on the Amazon.co.uk website.
  • Can you add the labels on my product for me?
No. At this time we don’t have a process for labelling your products for you.

Notifying us in advance of Product Unit ShipmentsExpand All

  • How do I notify you of units I want to ship to you for fulfilment?
Once you register a product type, you will enter the number of units of that product type that you want to send to us in your seller account or using third-party software designated by Amazon. Then you will create a shipment in your seller account. Once you have shipped the units, you will set the shipment to Mark as Shipped.
  • How can I manage my inventory in Amazon’s fulfilment centres?
You can monitor your inventory levels online in your seller account or using third-party software designated by us. If you want to send additional units to increase your inventory levels, you will need to inform us of additional product unit shipments you want to send to Amazon’s fulfilment centre. See below for more information related to customer returns and inventory returns.

Collect your packaged and labeled units and pack them in boxes to ship to Amazon Fulfilment Services. Print shipping labels for your packages. You can print from your seller account the list of products and quantities you intend to send us and use this list as a reference when collecting the products from your storage facility.

Pack your product units using as few boxes as possible. Protect the products from damage during shipping by adding cushioning material like Styrofoam or bubble-wrap to the box. Check the sealed box to ensure the contents in the box will not shift during shipping and that the box is strong enough for shipping. Repack the box if necessary.
  • How do I select a transportation carrier and delivery speed for my shipment to Amazon Fulfilment Services?
You can ship to us with any common carrier and for any shipping speed. When using your own carrier, you will be asked in your seller account to enter the tracking numbers you receive from your carrier when you ship your boxes.
  • How do I generate shipping labels?

    1. All Units are properly packaged for protection against damage and deterioration during shipment and storage.
    2. Terms of freight for all units are F.O.B. Destination.
    3. All Units comply with our labelling and other requirements.

To purchase shipping labels on the Amazon.co.uk website.

  • When an item ships out to a customer, is there a label on the box indicating that it came from me?
Your name does not appear on item labels or on the shipping label that the buyer receives. Your name does show on the included packing slip in the box as the seller of record.
  • What shipping method does Fulfilment by Amazon use for standard media shipping?
All shipments that are Fulfilled by Amazon go out either First Class or better.
  • Can I arrange direct shipment of inventory to Amazon from overseas suppliers?
Yes. We can receive inventory that originates from overseas. Sellers with shipments that originate from overseas will need to arrange the import and customs clearance of the shipment and then arrange for the delivery to our facility.

Note: The following conditions apply when sending inventory from overseas to Amazon:

    1. We will not serve as the importer of record or ultimate consignee on any of your imported freight.
    2. We will not be responsible for any duties, taxes or other charges associated with the importation of your freight.
    3. We will not provide POA or tax ID numbers to you.
    4. We will not provide brokerage or freight forwarding services.
    5. You are responsible for compliance and filing with all applicable other government agencies at the time of importation (e.g. FDA, TSCA, FWS).
    6. You must provide prepaid delivery to Amazon’s fulfilment centre.
  • Do you perform quality checks on inventory when it arrives at Amazon’s fulfilment centre?
We do not perform quality checks at the time of check in unless the item is obviously destroyed or damaged due to the inbound shipping. If you label an item as new and we see any indications of damage (cracks, chips, tears etc.) we will put the item aside as unsellable. If you labelled an item used that has minor damage, we would assume that it was shipped in that condition and make it available for sale and fulfilment.

Confirming Amazon Receipt of ProductsExpand All

  • How will I know when you receive my products?
The Shipping Queue will show you the status of your shipments. After you mark a shipment as sent, your seller account will show that the shipment is in transit. When we receive your product shipments, we scan the items and the shipment will be moved to the Shipping Archive.

Inventory that is sent to a Fulfilment by Amazon fulfilment centre is generally received and made available for sale within three business days of receipt.

If you are using a carrier that provides tracking information and you see that your shipment has arrived at Amazon, but it has not been received for more than five business days from the time of receipt, you should use the Contact Us form to request information about the shipment s status.

In the form, please include your tracking-ID numbers and any other relevant information related to the shipment.

The primary causes of delayed shipment receiving are:

    • Poor quality or missing labels (shipping or item labels that can t be scanned properly)
    • Over- or under-shipments (too many or not enough items in the shipment resulting in further research by our team)
    • Poorly packaged items or products that require additional preparations before sale (loose product, damaged product, and so on)
Existing FBA sellers can check the following Help article for further assistance (requires signing in): Shipping and Routing Requirements.
  • Can customers purchase items online that are in transit to the Fulfilment by Amazon fulfilment centre?
No. For products you offer for sale through the Amazon.co.uk website, your listings will not appear for purchase by customers until we receive and check in the inventory.
  • What is the Replacement Value Amazon will pay me for lost or damaged units?
If a loss of or damage to any Unit occurs in circumstances for which we take responsibility under the Amazon Services Europe Business Solutions Agreement, we will pay you either:

    • An amount no less than the replacement value you specify to us or
    • At our option, an amount equal to the applicable replacement value set forth in the Replacement Value Schedule based on the unit product (the Replacement Value). You may not specify a Replacement Value that is greater than the lowest selling price at which you list such unit or similar products for sale through any sales channel, and we may elect to use any such listed price as an additional basis for determining the Replacement Value.

To make a claim or learn more about this process, use the Contact Us form to send us the specific shipment ID and the claim reason.

  • Am I required to provide a tracking number if a shipment is lost or not received by Amazon?
Yes. Amazon will require you to provide either the carrier tracking number or a delivery confirmation number on all claims of lost shipments or non-received shipments.

Managing Your InventoryExpand All

  • What is the difference between the Inventory Amazon Fulfils page and the All Inventory page?
The All Inventory page allows you to manage your listings, whether Amazon fulfilled or merchant fulfilled. This page allows you to list and edit items for sale (price, condition, quantity, and so on).

The Inventory Amazon Fulfils page allows you to manage your Amazon Fulfilled inventory. This page lists all the relationships between listings and inventory items (FNSKUs) regardless of whether the listing still exists or even if the listing is now currently related to a different listing. This enables you to review existing inventory in Amazon Fulfilment, set up new shipments to replenish inventory, migrate listings back to Merchant Fulfilled and create online orders for your customers (Multi-Channel Fulfilment).
  • Why doesn’t a listing exist for my inventory item?
There are several different issues that can stop your inventory from selling on Amazon.co.uk. The most common cause occurs when your items appear in the Inventory Amazon Fulfills page but no listing exists on the All Inventory page. This happens when the listing is deleted for the item using a feed or the All Inventory page. If you area Pro Merchant and have more of the product that you would like to sell, you will need to list the item again using the same merchant SKU, ASIN, and condition. You can use the add a product button on the All Inventory page or feeds to do this. If you don t match the SKU, ASIN and condition, a second product will be added to your Inventory Amazon Fulfills that will not be associated with the existing inventory.

This can also result from delays in inventory systems. Generally, inventory updates show upon the Amazon.co.uk website within minutes. If the inventory has not shown up for sale on the Amazon.co.uk website after an hour and you have verified that the correct Fulfilled by Amazon listing exists, please contact customer support.

This can also occur when the inventory is associated with a Fulfilled by Merchant listing, especially if you haven’t specified a Fulfilled by Merchant quantity (see the following FAQ).

If you received an error on the Inventory Amazon Fulfils page relating to this issue, verify that the web page data has been updated recently(a time stamp is displayed below the search bar on the right hand side of the page) and that your item is not presently available for sale on Amazon.co.uk before reporting a problem. You can select the Show ASIN/FNSKU check box and then click on the item s ASIN to visit the corresponding Amazon.co.uk listing page.
  • Can I sell my Amazon-Fulfilled inventory with a Fulfilled-by-Merchant listing (an Amazon.co.uk listing does not exist for my inventory item)?
No. A Fulfilled-by-Amazon listing is required to sell the inventory in Amazon s fulfilment centres. If your listings are fulfilled-by-merchant, none of the Amazon held inventory will be available for sale. This usually occurs when you can see a quantity available in the Inventory Amazon Fulfils page in your seller account, a listing in the All Inventory page, but no listing on the Offer Listing Page on Amazon.co.uk.On the All Inventory page select the items to be Fulfilled by Amazon and choose Convert to Fulfilled by Amazon from the pull-down menu to migrate them to sell the Amazon Fulfilment Network (AFN) inventory.
  • Why has another item replaced this listing’s relationship to this inventory item?
You can only have one active inventory item for each listing (identified by a merchant SKU); otherwise the Amazon.co.uk fulfilment systems would be unable to determine which inventory item to ship for your listing.

For example, if you register a listing with a merchant SKU of my-SKU-1 for a specific ASIN and condition (creating an inventory item identified by an Amazon.co.uk Fulfilment Network SKU my-FNSKU-a ), then redefine that listing with the same merchant SKU, my-SKU-1, for a different ASIN or even condition, the previous inventory (my-FNSKU-a) item will no longer be actively associated with my-SKU-1. A new inventory item will be created (identified by FNSKU my-FNSKU-b ) and associated with my-SKU-1. Any inventory associated with inventory item my-FNSKU-a will no longer be sellable. If the merchant wishes to sell the inventory for my-FNSKU-a, the merchant must re-list the listing with the original values of the listing (merchant SKU, ASIN, and condition) that we re-associated with that inventory item.

If you are a Pro Merchant and wish to sell the inventory for the affected inventory item, you must re-list or edit the listing with the original values of the listing (merchant SKU, ASIN, and condition) that were associated with that inventory item. If you are an individual merchant, you will need to log in to your account and contact us through the Contact Us form to handle this problem because you cannot create or edit merchant SKUs.
  • I have rows on my Inventory Amazon Fulfills page that I no longer want. How can I remove them?
At this time you cannot remove the original item.

This can occur if you delete a listing from the All Inventory View page for items that you no longer plan on fulfilling by Amazon or when you create a new listing (or modify an existing listing) for a product that you already converted to the Amazon Fulfilled Network. Changing a listing s condition or correcting typos to your specified ASINs or Merchant SKUs can cause these unwanted rows. You can help prevent this from happening in the future by reusing the same merchant SKU, ASIN and condition of original items when relisting items. Note: Pro-Merchants can do this by using the Add a Product button or feeds to upload the listing.

The presence of the previous inventory item is benign as long as it does not have inventory. In the future,we will be adding functionality to remove these items, but for now they will stay listed under Inventory Amazon Fulfills.
  • Why do I have more than one listing for a given inventory item?
If you are using Stickerless, Commingled Inventory you are able to create multiple listings for the same inventory item. If a merchant already has a listing for a specific ASIN or UPC and creates another listing for that same ASIN or UPC, the inventory systems will map both listings (and their merchant SKUs) to the same inventory item (FNSKU). This is generally not a desired outcome, unless the merchant is attempting to sell different listings on different marketplaces with different prices.
  • What do I do with unfulfillable inventory?
You can request that your unfulfillable inventory be returned to you. You will need to Contact Us to set up a distributor return for the inventory you no longer want to be fulfilled by Amazon, including unfulfillable inventory.
  • Why does one of my reserved items remain in the reserved inventory?
Here are the most common reasons for items being reserved for long periods of time:
    • Sometimes buyers purchase in-stock items along with advanced-sale items. When this occurs, the in-stock items might not ship until all the items in their order are ready for shipment.
    • Sometimes Super Saver Delivery orders can take up to five days to be picked and packed. All items in the order will remain reserved until they are all ready for shipment.
    • The reserved quantity covers more than just sold items. It can also include items that are being held for a fulfilment centre process. Here are some processes that could reserve your inventory:

      • The items need to be measured, weighed, or checked for hazardous materials.
      • The items are identified as not-for-resale by fulfilment centre associates (book remainders, promotional items, broken down bundles specifically listed as not for resale).

We are currently working on enabling Amazon’s fulfilment centres to provide explanations to you when this occurs; today the best indicator that something like this happens is when your entire inventory for a specific item is listed as reserved and stays there without decrementing for more than one to two business days.

  • I sent a shipment, but it has not been received yet. Why not?
  • The ASIN that my listing was listed against changed and now my inventory is not available for sale on Amazon.co.uk.Why not?
The most common cause for this scenario occurs when a merchant lists an item already existing with an ASIN as a new item, thus generating a new ASIN. This will create two products for the same item. To correct this, Amazon.co.uk will assign the item with the merchant’s new ASIN to the original ASIN. If this occurs, the inventory will need to be relabelled by the Amazon Fulfilment Centres, so it will be associated with the pre-existing ASIN. You will need to use the Contact Us link for assistance. This can be prevented by verifying that a product does not already exist before creating a listing for a new product ASIN.
  • Why is my inventory listed as Unsellable ?
Most often items are listed as Unsellable on your Current Inventory Report when they get damaged or don’t match the condition you assigned to them in the item listings. Items can also be identified as Unsellable when they are returned by customers if the condition has changed since leaving the fulfilment centre.

Once an item is identified as Unsellable, it is set aside for 90 days. During that time, you can request to have your unsellable items returned to you at your expense. Until the items are returned or disposed, you will continue to pay for the storage of unsellable items.

To have your unsellable inventory returned, Contact Us and provide the merchant SKU, the fulfilment centre ID and the quantity of unsellable inventory.

  • Can I select the fulfilment centre where my inventory will be stored?

Sales CreditsExpand All

  • When will I receive payment for customer purchases?
All Amazon.co.uk merchants are assessed Sales Charges for the advantages of selling their products on Amazon.co.uk. The Sales Charges consist of two fees:

    1. Sales Referral Fee
    2. Per Sale Closing Fee OR Pro Merchant Monthly Subscription Fee

All sales fees are deducted at the time of sale from the total amount the buyer pays for the item. The remaining balance is added to your Payments Account and can eventually be disbursed to your bank account.

    (

  • For my Amazon fulfilled items, will I receive credit for shipping or fulfilment?
No, if you are using Fulfilment by Amazon, you will not receive additional shipping or fulfilment credit at the time of a sale. Since Amazon.co.uk is handling the fulfilment for you, the buyer pays for shipping directly to Amazon.co.uk and you pay the associated fulfilment fee per the FBA pricing schedule (Quick Reference: Calculating your FBA Programme Fees).

Note, sellers using Fulfilment by Amazon may still choose to fulfill some items themselves. In these cases the seller will receive credit for the shipping (less any applicable fees). For more on fulfilment and shipping credits, see the Fulfilment and Shipping Credits help topic.

Sales ChargesExpand All

  • What kind of sales fees will I see charged to my account?
All Amazon.co.uk merchants are assessed Sales Charges for the advantages of selling their products on Amazon.co.uk. The Sales Charges consist of three fees:

    • Referral Fee
    • Variable Closing Fee
    • Per-Sale Fee

All sales fees are deducted from you Payments Account after the Purchase Price paid by the customer is deposited to the account.

  • How much of a referral fee do I pay to Amazon.co.uk?
The Referral Fee varies depending on the Product Category your item is listed under. To determine the Referral Fee on a product ordered through Amazon.co.uk, you will need to know the Product Category and the Purchase Price.

Referral Fee = Purchase Price x Referral Fee Rate

Example: A customer purchases a camera for £500 (Purchase Price). The Referral Fee Rate for cameras (Product Category) is 8 percent. The Referral Fee would be £40 (£500 x .08 = £40).
  • Do I have to pay a Per-sale Fee for every item sold?
If you are not a Pro Merchant, you will be assessed a Per-sale Closing Fee for every sale.

    Per-sale Closing Fee = £0.99 x Transactions

If you are a Pro Merchant, you will not have to pay the Per-sale Fee. Pro Merchants pay a monthly charge of £25.00 plus VAT, £28.75 no matter how many sales are processed during the month.

If the seller is a Pro Merchant, the Per-sale Closing Fee is waived.

Pre-fulfilment Order Fee Expand All

  • What kind of products does the Per-fulfilment Order Fee apply to?
All products are assessed a Per-fulfilment Order Fee based on the size, weight and whether it is media or not. The fee is applied to your Payments Account at the time of fulfilment.
For more on fulfilment charges, see Quick Reference: Calculating your FBA Programme Fees.
  • When is a product Oversized?
The dimensions and weight of the product being fulfilled determine whether the product is Oversized or not. Products that are larger than 45cm long x 34cm wide x 26cm high or that weigh 12 kilograms or more are considered Oversized.

    Oversized > 45cm long x 34cm wide x 26cm high
    or
    Oversized => 12 kilogrammes.

Oversized objects are not charged a Per-fulfilment Order Fee regardless of the Product Category.

Example: A customer purchases a rolled map that measures 46cm in length. Since the item is Oversized, there is no Per-fulfilment Order Fee, but the oversize fee schedule applies.

For more on fulfilment charges, see Quick Reference: Calculating your FBA Programme Fees.
  • Does my product qualify as Media?
If your product is classified as Media you will not be assessed a Per-fulfilment Order Fee.

Product Categories qualifying as Media include the following:

    • Music
    • Videos
    • DVDs
    • Books
    • Software
    • Computer Games
    • Video Games

Example: A customer purchases money management software with dimensions and weight less than the criteria for Oversized. Since it qualifies as Media, however, there is no Per-fulfilment Order Fee.

Buyers can leave feedback for the merchant on orders that are fulfilled by Amazon.

We do not filter or remove feedback that is specifically related to the fulfilment part of the order. If Amazon fails in the fulfilment process and this causes negative feedback for the merchant, the merchant should asses the service and decide how to proceed. Amazon has consistently received high customer satisfaction results from national surveys and is recognized by buyers as one of the most trusted online merchants.
