It has a thick, sturdy tightening knob for the camera mount, and all adjustments seem to lock up tight. However, others say that the center column issue doesn't move and can cause a slight wobble of the lens. The movement is a little tight at first, and the hand crank for vertical movement does not work smoothly.

 Great size for travelling! The legs extend quite a ways and it feels very sturdy. Very easy to use and has full range of motion!
I've used it for timelapses with a gopro (see video- I shot the 4/24 eclipse with the tripod sitting on a concrete pillar on a fairly windy day and there's zero shake), with a full body DSLR, and with a fairly large spotting scope.

Using for my Nikon Coolpix L-110. Tripod is lightweight yet sturdy, and at 13 inches in length, small enough to travel in the attractive carry case. I particularly like the locking legs on this model. The various knobs work well to solidly secure the adjustments.

Quick-release mechanism to take off the square holding plate and attach to the camera, and the plate's screw has a little extension that makes it easy to turn. It's a tight and precise fit when you place the attached camera on the tripod.

The camera is able to swivel 360 degrees horizontally for landscape shots; vertically the lens can be pointed straight down or almost straight up toward the sky.

One thing I would like to have that I haven't seen is a place to attach a cold shoe, but not sure I'd need it.

I purchased this to replace the supplied tripod that came with my spotting scope which has required constant adjustments when placed on the shooting bench. As a plus, the item came with a cell phone holder. This tripod provides excellent stability with limitless adjustability. While it has all the attributes of my more expensive all metal camera tripod, this tripod is made mostly of plastics - even at the key stress points - so I am not sure of it's durability over time, and as a result, is the thought that went into the 4 star rating. Because of the plastic fittings I will take care to use the minimal pressure on knobs when securing the tripod. All that said, the tripod, provides a solid platform for light weight cameras or in my case, a spotting scope. I think it is a good value for the price and I expect that it will meet my shooting scope needs at the range.

Use this to shoot my items here that I sell on Amazon. This is what I needed. I have a HUGE camera. Canon 1-DX mark II camera. It's about 2-3 pounds.
