I’ve bought and used AmazonBasics products before, and they were almost always great value for money. This luggage scale is an exception! It’s not good! Here’s my two cents on it: Pros 👍👍👍 - Accuracy: It’s accurate enough for its intended purpose.- Compact: It’s small and comfortable to hold.- Display: easy to read.- Price: on par with similar products. Cons 👎👎👎 - The Hook: It sticks out like a sore thumb! The listing photos don’t show it, which is kind of misleading. It doesn’t fold or retract. It’s simply a bad design choice.- The Battery: While the CR2032 is common, it’s just one more thing that could render your scale useless. Mine has already died a mere three months after I got it!- Value: I’ve already said it’s on par with other products on the market, but it doesn’t do or offer anything that makes it worth recommending over others. My Recommendation 🧐 I’ve already tossed mine in the donation bin at a Goodwill nearby. I went back to my trusty mechanical scale, which is priced similarly and comes with a handy built-in tape measure. Oh, and it doesn’t need any batteries to replace or recharge! This is a rare case of disappointment with an Amazon Basics product. I do not recommend this product to others. There are a lot better alternatives for the same amount of money. I hope my review has helped you make a more informed buying decision 👍😊✌️

I’ve used this now a few times on travel and it has saved me from having to paying extra at the airport. In the past I tried my best to balance a suitcase on a scale which I found to be super challenging. I’m happy to say that this is very easy to use and accurate. It is simple to pick up the luggage with the device, of course it will require you to be able to lift your luggage. Comparing the airport scale to what this device read gives me a good indication that this is accurate. The battery life isn’t great though and within a trip I am already replacing the battery.

The weight of my bag was the same weight as weighed in the airport by delta. The scale system matched the airline’s scale. Do buy if you are an over packer like myself. Easy to use. Hook loop is a convenient feature so this can be used to measure a wider range of items aside from just luggage. I used this recently to confirm the Olympic weight plates I bought using OfferUp were accurate. Also used in a dumbbell set since the guy was charging by the pound. Some plates and dumbbells were slightly less than advertised and some were slightly over. In the end, I consider the weight variances a wash. He still discounted the total anyway.

The length of this unit makes it easy to lift up the luggage as more of your hand can be used than some of the smaller devices I’ve seen over at Samsonite.

It’s plastic, but doesn’t feel like cheap plastic so as long as you are somewhat gentle with it? This should last a long time. Bought another one for my mom as she travels more frequently than I do.
