"Luckily we were fortunate to meet Michael Martinez who is an award-winning Senior Project Design Specialist, Consultant and Project Manager at Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape. Once we met Michael he immediately felt like a member of our family. He is extremely personable, honest and trustworthy with high morals and ethics. At our first meeting Michael took the time to get to know our family, strived to understand the goals and objectives of what we envisioned in our yard and how he could be a part of the solution to overcome some of the challenges in our backyard. He could see the bigger picture and presented design solutions to mitigate project challenges other contractors may encounter later in the job. Michael gave us a design that fulfilled many of the objectives to support the overall goals for our yard. He did an excellent cost to benefit analysis designing smarter which would allow us to get the best value. Considering the design, materials used, scope of project and Michael's expertise, his bid was very competitive. He made me feel very comfortable, and I knew that the plan was in good hands. Michael checked in often and wanted to start as soon as we received HOA approval. While waiting to obtain permission from our HOA to begin, Michael met with his job foreman Juan and us several times onsite to walk through the project. He contacted our other contractor to ensure everything would come together at the end of the project. Michael is very familiar with hardscape products which were very valuable considering the scale of the proposed work. Michael's on-site crew was always on time and had an excellent work ethic. They started at 8am and concluded at 5pm daily. During their day, there was minimal downtime. We only noted two 15 minute breaks and 30 minutes for lunch. They minimized impact from heavy machinery and constant loads of materials coming and going from the site by covering where possible front yard landscaping with plywood. At the end of each day, Michael's team would clean up which my neighbors appreciated. He checked in on site daily to ensure the project was progressing smoothly and to address any project concerns or challenges immediately. If we weren't home he'd provide updates via phone or text. We never felt out of the loop and didn't have any surprises due to Michael's excellent communication skills. When weather didn't allow for construction to continue, Michael's crew would arrive and cover the site to minimize downtime. Michael always had our family's best interests in mind. We really like that Michael handles every aspect of the project. We didn't have to deal with a separate salesperson, designer, project manager, contractor or subcontractor; he manages it all giving us peace of mind. "Eduardo and his team are fantastic!! We purchased a fixer home with a .33 acre lot, so there was lots to do. The grading was all wrong creating lots of sitting water that was causing damage, old fences and decks were rotting away and hazardous and things were pretty ugly. Eduardo listened carefully to our ideas and even offered some input that was really helpful. He took into consideration our young children and dogs, and what we wanted for our home. The prices are very reasonable for all the hard work and materials. Everyone always arrives on time, usually early. The guys are always so happy and extremely nice. My toddler adores them. In the end, our project consisted of new fencing all throughout the backyard, french drainage system, new trex deck, pavers, concrete steppers, astroturf in the back and front yard, retaining wall with stone facade, planter boxes, new trees and plants, landscape lighting and more! We are loving the yard now and getting so many compliments from neighbors. We want to be outdoors all the time now and entertain. This yard was in horrible shape before and a major undertaking. Eduardo and his team were so professional and left the site immaculate everyday. They stuck to the timeline given and we now have this beautiful yard in both the front and back to enjoy.
