About installing GitHub Copilot Extensions for your personal account
Anyone can install Copilot Extensions for their personal account, but you must meet the following criteria to use a Copilot Extension you install:
- You are enrolled in the limited public beta for Copilot Extensions.
- You have an active Copilot Individual subscription.
Note
If you have access to Copilot through a Copilot Business or Copilot Enterprise subscription, Copilot Extensions are installed by organization owners at the organization level, and you do not need to install the extension on your personal account. To start using Copilot Extensions installed in your organization, see "Using extensions to integrate external tools with Copilot Chat."
Installing GitHub Copilot Extensions for your personal account
Copilot Extensions are a type of GitHub App, and can be installed from GitHub Marketplace. You can discover available Copilot Extensions by opening GitHub Marketplace, then clicking Copilot Extensions in the sidebar.
