Find a Health Care Professional or Program

Finding care can be hard, so you may have to try a few places before you find what you need.

For advice on the best way to search for a health care professional or program, select the type of health insurance you have:

Private Insurance through my employer or union
Choose this if your health insurance is a benefit from your job–including if you’re on COBRA coverage (coverage you continue after you leave your job).

Private Insurance I buy directly
Choose this if you buy insurance through Healthcare.gov or other state marketplaces such as "Kynect" in Kentucky. Don’t choose this if you get insurance through your employer.

Medicare
Choose this if you’re on Medicare, which is a health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease.

Medicaid (your state’s health insurance program or Children's Health Insurance Program [CHIP])
Choose this if you get health insurance through the state you live in and may have a state program name like “KanCare” in Kansas. You may have Medicaid if you have an income low enough to qualify for the program. You may have CHIP coverage for your child if your income is too high to qualify for Medicaid, but you still can't afford private coverage or if your child has a certain disability.

Veterans and former Service Members
Choose this insurance type if you’re enrolled in VA health care or if you served in the U.S. military and want to learn more about VA services.

TRICARE (Active Service Members and their families)
Choose this insurance type if you’re a current Service Member or family member using TRICARE.

Member of a Federally Recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Tribe
Choose this if you’re a member of a federally recognized tribe who may be eligible for services provided by the Indian Health Service (IHS) or a tribal health care program.

I don't know
Choose this if you don't see your coverage or insurance type listed–or if you aren't sure.

I don't have insurance but I need mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse services
