Online Course on the Primary Prevention Component of the SUBG
Learn about the primary prevention component of the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant (SUBG), and how to successfully apply for and use the funding.
This course provides information on the statutory, regulatory, and programmatic requirements of SUBG primary prevention component. Primary prevention is a required component of the SUBG. Grantees must spend no less than 20% of their SUBG allotment on substance use primary prevention strategies.
This course is designed for individuals who are new to the SUBG or new to prevention; however, it may also be used as a refresher for anyone who works on the SUBG.
Note: During the course, the Substance Use Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Services Block Grant is referred to as both “SUBG” and “Block Grant.”
Course Topics
The course includes nine modules that are broken down into three sections. The modules include examples from the field and opportunities to test your knowledge of grant requirements.
Section 1: SUBG Statutory and Regulatory Requirements
