The Republic of Korea-U.S. Alliance Friendship Association conferred a Korean name, La, Hae-young, to Col. Heather Levy, commander, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District, during a ceremony on Dec. 8, 2023, at the Korea Ministry of National Defense, Seoul.
Lt. Col. Yun, Jeong Hyun, RoK Design and Construction Agent (DCA), officially transfers the final project of the Yongsan Relocation Project in the Pyeongtaek area to Lt. Col. Michael Pope, US DCA, in a ceremony on Nov. 30 at Osan Air Base. After over 16 years of construction, it marks the conclusion of the construction phase of the relocation of US troops to USAG Humphreys from Yongsan Garrison in Seoul. Volunteers hailing from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District joined forces to spread happiness among Korean children for the Chuseok holiday on Sept. 25 in Pyeongtaek, South Korea. Beneath a blue sky and nestled among family housing towers, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District joined the Ministry of National Defense - Defense Installation Agency (MND-DIA), Eighth Army, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys and the Department of Defense Education Activity to break ground on a new elementary school for the installation on Sept. 7, 2023.
