Oscar and his team did an excellent job with the installation of our ipe decks and cement tile patio. We truly appreciated Oscar's guidance as we finalized our unique outdoor design. He took the time to walk us through the various wood options and to explain the pros and cons. They completed our project early and we were thrilled with the end result. We now have a beautiful deck, patio, and pergola, and can't believe it's the same space! We're definitely going to hire Oscar and his team again, when we do more upgrades to our house!! CertaPro Painters of Silicon Valley - Palo Alto
Our first interior painting project was a very good experience with Dan Ford at CertaPro Painters of Silicon Valley. I scheduled an estimate online and Ashley, Dan's assistant, promptly followed up. Dan showed up on scheduled in his Mini Cooper, sporting the CertaPro logo. It was like a scene from the movie ?The Italian Job? starring Mark Walhberg and Seth Green. CertaPro was on a mission and they found us. When Dan came to give us an estimate, we were allowing the sellers of the unit that we had closed on at the end of June to rent back the unit until they were able to buy their next home. The sellers couldn't have been more uncooperative, as they insisted that their young child was taking his nap at 3:00 in the afternoon and we were therefore not allowed to talk, which was going to make it hard to consult on how we wanted to paint our new home. The fact is I had given the sellers 10 days advance notice that I would be coming in to get an estimate from the painters. In addition to no talking, we were told to wear latex gloves and foot covers before entering the unit. Foot covers, fine, but gloves?! Dan Ford took all of this in stride with a smile and a chuckle. He did his best to maneuver around the unit without disturbing the sleeping child and without knocking anything over, given the low light conditions, since the blinds were closed. Hurray, Dan! Thanks for your patience and good sense of humor. Dan gives us the estimate, with a proper nod to my Angie's List membership. The next day I call back to schedule a one-hour color consultation to decide on the best color paints to use. Having been dissed by the seller who was getting 30 days of rent-back from us, I knew that I would have to wait to schedule the color consultation until after they had moved out so that I wouldn't have to waste anyone?s time. Three weeks later, the color consultant shows up on time and she was very pleasant and all, but ultimately I can't say that she added much value to the process. She brought in her Kelly Moore paint box and asked us what colors we wanted to use. Well, that's why we brought in the color consultant, to help us decide which color we should use. The fact is, she really was not that familiar with the Kelly Moore color palette. She just did not seem to have any suggestions or challenges to what colors might go well with the size of our unit and that would match the cabinetry and the hardwood floors. In the end, we would have been much better off just going to the Kelly Moore paint shop and comparing the collection of color cards side by side. But at least the color consultant helped us get the ball rolling by making us think about what colors might go well, not that they would go well. Surprisingly, the best color consultant of all ended up being, drum roll please ? the actual person who would be painting our unit. We were cutting things close, as we were scheduled to move in the following week, and Ashley was thankfully able to squeeze us onto the production schedule on a Thursday, a week before we would be moving in. We were really glad that we went over to the Kelly Moore paint shop on the morning that the painters were scheduled to start our job and pick up some samples of the paints that we had chosen with the color consultant. We wanted to have the painter put some paints on the wall so that we could see how the colors might actually look. Believe me, color cards aren't the same as paint on a wall. They simply are not the same thing. Our painter, Juan Pablo ?Picasso? calls me at 7:45 a.m., ahead of schedule, to let me know that he is waiting for me. Fantastic. The CertaPro Team from the office coordinator to the estimator to the color consultant to the painters were all on schedule. Ashley had given me the name of the person who would be my point of contact for the paint job and it wasn?t Pablo. So when Pablo called, I was a bit skeptical at first. But once I met with him and he began responding to our wants and concerns, we were put at ease and felt more confident that things were going in the right direction. Pablo ?Picasso? was good enough to put our eight sample paints for the bedroom and living room on the walls so that we could compare. Thank God he did! Otherwise, total disaster! OMG! Are those the colors we chose? You must be kidding. We were lucky that we picked a color for the living room that we saw at the last minute at the Kelly Moore store. Pablo is Da Man. He pulled us out from the gaping jaws of the Lion of Color Blindness and saved us from a slow torture that was sure to give us nightmares, night sweats, fits of hysteria and general insanity. As we learned from this experience, you need to have some antique white to help give the eyes a breather. It?s okay to play with color but you don?t want to overdose on color. The accent wall is a good way to go, especially for smaller living spaces. Too much color can be overwhelming. Pablo was very polite and assured us that he was going to make it work for us. He wanted us to be completely happy and he was going to do whatever it took to get it right. He and Julio did exactly that. They did an expert job that showed great skill and professionalism. It wasn?t until the paint was skillfully put on the walls that it felt like our new home was truly our new home. Thanks to Ashley, Dan, Pablo, and Julio for a job well done

Faith Painting
Called up to get a quote. Chris met me at the house, we walked thru what I was thinking... he went back and provided me with a quote a few days later. The start date of the project, Chris showed with his crew. We walked thru the house again, pointing out the colors and special designs. I was a bit unique in what I wanted for 3 of the rooms. I wanted my step daughters room painted with stripes around the room, my son's room painted with Chevron's on one wall, & our powder bath with vertical stripes all the way around the room. These designs weren't something that they really do... but, they agreed to it with no hesitation :) The rooms turned out great! Although, with the details, the project did go over by 3 days. I was okay with this since it was a difficult project and design. Overall, it was a great experience

He did a beautiful and professional job. He did this in two sessions allowing me to move my furniture and possessions into the empty rooms while he finished up one area before starting the next. He was helpful, trustworthy and always punctual. He completed the work in the time frames that he estimated. He was extremely careful with my possessions and took extra care to perform special finishing touches that completed the job

Overall the job went well. When David discovered the sink I had purchased at a big box store was not the right size, he ordered a sink for me and even picked it up. At the last minute I decided I wanted wallpaper, and he was able to put it up. I used him several years ago when I bought my house and was glad he was available to do more work at my house. *I accidentally put this under Exterior Painting

CertaPro Painters® of Antioch
I wanted to use Paul Turner, owner of the Danville/San Ramon franchise, because of their good reviews and they had the certification required to work in homes built before 1978 in case there is any lead paint present. I called the number for this company but the owner of the Pleasanton franchise, Ed Gutierrez, returned my call. I explained I needed a company with the "Renovation, Repair, and Painting" certification to work on a home built prior to 1978. I was referred back to Paul Turner of the Danville/San Ramon franchise. Paul was great and very accommodating. He agreed to the details of my project and repeatedly assured me the crew would protect hardware etc. from over spray/paint splatter -- it's also specified in the contract. Jackie Damon is the assistant who scheduled the work and assured me that the crew, Felix and Ulysses, were their best painters. I was quoted 4 days to do the work, the work was finished in less than 2 days. On the first day Felix and Ulysses plus 2 others arrived earlier than the scheduled time, they promptly started to lay down plastic. I thought this was a good sign. I was surprised when they told me the next day that they'd finished the work. While most of the paint job is ok, there are several areas missed or damage. There are areas of peeling paint, rust spots showing on the iron railing they were to have primed and painted, paint over spray on almost everything including items that were clearly marked "Do Not Paint", paint chip debris through out the home, there are areas that they missed even though they had been clearly marked for re texturing and repainting. There was dried dark liquid (coke?) spilled on the dryer. They discarded their paint waste on my newly paved asphalt. They responded quickly to the reported problems, but it was Ed Gutierrez who showed up. Ed claimed to be the "project manager". They only fixed some things and cause more damage when removing the paint -- they stripped the brass off a light fixture, dented an air vent; left a flat finish on spot repairs of walls painted with satin finish paint, left white powder substance on the carpet. Though they confirmed they would clean the unit per EPA's guidelines on 10/10/15, to date they still have not finished the job nor shown proof of certification as promised. The pictures speak for themselves. My experience is consistent with the negative reviews posted for the Pleasanton franchise at the time of my research. Most of those reviews have since been removed from the free social media rating site. Currently the Pleasanton franchise has zero reviews on that site. As an aside, I'm not sure I'm even dealing with Paul as most of the email responses come from "Ed Gutierrez on behalf of Jackie Damon"
