As #NPHW winds down, check out just one of the great ways our region staff recognized the observance. In observance of Tuesday’s NPHW theme of "Healthy Neighborhoods,” Midlands PH Regional Office staff volunteered at FoodShare South Carolina. FoodShare's mission is to help increase access to and knowledge of vegetables and fruit through community-led projects. To learn more about FoodShare, how to participate in the program and/or volunteer, visit foodsharesc.org

Food producers must follow all guidelines set forth in SC’s Code of Laws in order to sell food. This law is separate from DHEC’s regulations for Retail Food Establishments. You can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/dbnTFkci... or email [email protected] with questions.

Today is #NationalDoctorsDay. DHEC recognizes and celebrates all doctors in our state. In particular, we would like to spotlight our Regional Medical Directors: Dr. Katherine Richardson (Lowcountry); Dr. Michael Crowley (Midlands); and Dr. Lisa Carlson (Upstate). [The Pee Dee position is currently vacant, but an announcement will be made when a new director is named.] Thank you to all of our doctors who work each day to promote and protect the health of all South Carolinians.
