"I cannot recommend Luis and the entire LLugo, LLC team enough for any home renovationâ large or small. I was referred to Luis by a friend who had an outstanding experience with LLugo for her master suite renovation, and I have subsequently referred Luis to friends and neighbors for their home renovations. Iâ ve heard nightmare stories about general contractors who take your deposit and, once the contract is signed, never show up on site again and are unreachable. For the duration of our five-month project Luis was ALWAYS reachable for questions or concerns. His communication was incredible: day or night, weekends, holidaysâ it didnâ t matter. He wanted us to understand what was going on with the project and make sure we were fully informed and comfortable with the steps his crew was taking. Luis also has an amazing team. Beto was our foreman for the project and he became like family, along with Juan who was on site every day. The whole team is extremely professional, kind and considerate. We have shared walls with our neighbors and LLugoâ s policies go a long way to helping with the inevitable inconvenience of a renovation next door: no smoking, no music, no shouting. Another surprise during the process of working with LLugo is how clean they leave the work site every day. Every single day the construction site is cleaned-thereâ s no trash or debris left sitting around. They also sealed the renovation site from the rest of the house to provide some sense of privacy and to avoid dust from entering the rest of the house. Our project was extensive- Luis and his team demoed the entire second floor of our home down to the studs, completely re-framed a new footprint, and built out two new bedrooms and two new bathrooms as well as adding new windows. Luis tackled every aspect of our project-soup to nuts. Before we even decided to hire him for our project Luis met with us in person, walked through the space, created a design proposal and then revised the proposal numerous times based on our feedback. We did not use an architect, or a designer, and we didnâ t need one with Luis. He also handled all permitting and dealt with the historic preservation office. Luis also provided us with a detailed estimate that included every imaginable line item plus allowances for our decisions on finishes. He walked us through the estimate patiently explaining every aspect and answering our questions. Our home is 125 years old so there were some real surprises underneath the subfloor and behind the walls that required major structural work. Luis handled these unexpected challenges calmly and professionally. He and his team were able to address every issue and walk us through every step. I donâ t think you can find anyone in the DMV area or beyond who will devote so much time and attention to every detail of your project and care so deeply about the outcome and his clientsâ satisfaction. I will not hesitate to call him again for future renovations."

"Absolutely hire Vally for any work you need done! He thoroughly impressed me throughout three (3) weeks of renovations to a 1967 home in need of updating. We werent exactly sure of what we wanted to do, but Vally was full of ideas and helped us decide on the plan forward. He came out once to estimate the job, then we had some other ideas and he didnt even blink an eye at coming out again to re-measure and re-quote based upon our new plan. Knock down a wall to expand, re-tile, and re-plumb your master bath? Done. Take out another wall and remove a 60s bar area and some dead space to create a laundry room? Ok, Then discover numerous pipes have to be re-routed by jackhammering a path into the existing concrete slab? Easily done, and he didnt even break a sweat. His attention to detail was amazing. His drywall and fine carpentry work is flawless. He went above and beyond literally everywhere he possibly could- the walkway and driveway to my home were dingy, so he power washed them. Because they needed it. I had like 9 doors to paint, so he handed me his paint sprayer and taught me how to use it because it would save me time. Not him, me. After 3 weeks of working on the home, he carted a massive pile of debris off to the dump - not all from his jobs, it included the stuff I added. Just because he cares and wants to do right. I wish I had more projects to hire Vally for - it was truly an enjoyable experience working with him! Seriously, you wont find a more caring, skilled, or capable company out there. He literally solved every problem I threw at him, and even offered me advice on projects I was working on simply because he had experience and knowledge that would help. All of this at super competitive pricing no less! If I could give him 10 stars I would, but HomeAdvisor limits me to 5... Hire Vally, he will provide superior quality and service!!"

"I highly recommend this company for its service, professionalism, and detail to workmanship. From start to finish, I felt like this company had our interests as customers at heart. It started with the president of the company calling to see if everything was starting on schedule and to our satisfaction. During the work, there were some problems, but they handled every single issue promptly, professionally, and to our total satisfaction. The materials and their choices were outstanding. The 2 bathrooms worked on look stunning. We had shower doors and a vanity installed and replaced in a guest bath, and in the master, we had a tub ripped out and a huge double shower installed alongside a linen/medicine closet and a double vanity installed. The early change to a new project manager, Alex, had a few bumps, but Alex worked hard to make sure that the initial bumps were overcome, and we were informed and the project was moving along the lines we had originally planned under his expert supervision. Our project included a complete kitchen remodel, hardwood floors throughout the first floor and a basement buildout including bedroom, kitchenette, rec room and bathroom. A major part of the kitchen remodel was the demolition of a 80s style brick cooktop/stove area and inserting a significant/primary LVL beam to provide an open-concept kitchen with an island. The open kitchen is beautiful!!! Being an engineer I was concerned about the significant structure change to the core of the house. But the owner of URB, Aiman, did an outstanding job of explaining and designing the support structure. I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and experience. Aiman was extremely helpful in the design of the project and provided ideas, options and tradeoffs. Aiman (the owner) and Mo (the PM) were on-site often to ensure quality and customer satisfaction. They were flexible in last-minute changes that I requested and the outcomes were fantastic. They were able to complete the project just before my daughters college graduation party and the guests were impressed. Eventhough the project took longer than expected and some additional costs were incurred due to the original house condition, overall it was a great experience with United Residential Builders and I would recommend them with high marks!"

"Demoed old, water & insect damaged bathroom, repaired and/or replaced damaged joists, plates and studs, installed new sub floor, relocated/replaced old electrical wiring and plumbing for code and location reasons. Installed ProPanel shower and floor system, installed tile in the shower floor to ceiling, with painted drywall and tile wainscot in the remainder of the bathroom. Installed all new bathroom fixtures. They turned an old, damaged bathroom into a new, attractive, modern bathroom. Main contact was Chris Carmichael from the original estimate through project completion. He was always prompt and professional in everything he did. Any questions or concerns I had were immediately taken care of. Almost the work was performed by 2 men, Eddie and Winston. These guys are very talented at all the trades they perform. They showed up on time every day, worked hard, made few if any mistakes, maintained a clean, organized work area and were always pleasant with a good sense of humor. They installed drop cloths from the front door, up the stairs, through the hallways to the work area. They covered all the furnishings in the adjoining bedroom to prevent dust problems. These things were installed at the start of each work day and removed at the end of the day. All trash and construction debris was removed from the site daily. Chris was very helpful in selecting materials and fixtures. All materials and fixtures arrived on site on time. I spent a couple of decades as a contractor and in the construction trades and this was the best run small construction job I've seen in a long time."
