From 1997 to 2002, HNC partnered with the Louisville District and AMCOM to develop the Zussman Village Military Operations on Urbanized Training range at Fort Knox. This range used vehicles and special effects, such as burning cars & buildings, to train in a simulated environment

Beginning on March 11, 1971, HNC played a major role in the modernization of the U.S. Postal Service by overseeing the renovation efforts of 21 bulk mail facilities and 12 auxiliary service facilities with modern computerized and electronic sorters. #TBThursday

From 2005 - 2008, HNC and its contractors conducted disposal operations at two depots in Iraq. By the end of 2008, Arlington depot received and shipped over 25,797 short tons of ammunition. Buckmaster depot received and shipped over 22,146 short tons of ammunition. #tbt

Today, Huntsville Center was honored to welcome Commanding General of USACE Scott A. Spellmon. Spellmon presented four commander's coins to HNC employees, reviewed the artist renditions for the new HNC building, and met with senior staff.

From 1998 to 2007, Huntsville Center led the Medical Repair and Renewal program, which provided contracting and technical support to military medical communities. By the end of 2007, the program included 106 projects and $432 million authorized for construction contracts. #tbt
As NASA prepared to send a man to the moon in early 1969, President Nixon began reviewing options for future space transportation technology. To support the mission, HNC was tasked with upgrading the facilities at Marshall Space Flight Center on Redstone Arsenal. #TBThursday
After the breakup of the Soviet Union, Huntsville Center began providing contract planning, design, and on-site program management for construction planning and implementation of nuclear and chemical weapons disposal facilities in Russia. #TBThursday

In May 1967, HNC was tasked with the building, planning, and research and development of the new Nike-X weapons system division which managed long and short-range interceptors and radar used to track offensive and defensive weapons. #TBThursday
In 1994-1995, HNC created a Construction Directorate and an Ordnance and Explosives Directorate. As part of this expansion, Proponent Sponsored Engineer Corps Training (PROSPECT) was developed and included 870 video courses, 1,282 facilitator guides, and 15,863 study guides. #tbt
During Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Huntsville Center supported the Kuwait Emergency Recovery Office by administering $200 million of contracts and maintained the Army Facilities Components System database, which included data for thousands of facilities. #TBThursday
Established in 1991, the Army Ideas for Excellence Program evaluates and implements suggestions from the workforce. In 1994, based on employee submissions, Huntsville Center adopted the use of preprinted shipping labels, which saved the center $31,000 in the first year alone.#FBF
The Energy Policy Act of 2005 established a goal of achieving a 20% reduction in energy consumption in the federal government by 2015. By 2007, Huntsville center had awarded $238 million in Energy Savings Performance Contracts at 22 installations to meet this goal. #FBF

From Jan 1970 to Dec 1971, Huntsville division prepared bid packages that included 2.6 million pages of designs, 4.3 million pages of specifications, and 100,000 shop drawings for contractors for SAFEGUARD program facilities. #FBF

Established in 2004, Huntsville Center’s Captured Enemy Ammunition program supported CENTCOM in the destruction of over 346,000 tons of ammunition or other explosive remnants of war in Iraq. 18 mobile teams cleared 51 sites as part of Iraq’s demilitarization effort. #FBFriday
In 1981, the Huntsville Division started supporting the Defense Environmental Restoration Program. Huntsville Center was tasked with the oversight of the Army Material Command ground water assessments and the review of corrective actions where contamination occurred. #FBF
