The discovery begins as you travel north over the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito. Nestled along the northern reach of Richardson’s Bay, the San Francisco Bay Model Visitor Center is a place like no other. A 1 ½ acre, 3-dimensional model of San Francisco Bay’s watershed is its central attraction. Used for engineering and scientific testing by the Corps from 1958-2000, the Model is now the Corps’ most important center to learn about the San Francisco Bay Watershed and the agency’s role managing water resources throughout Northern California. Hands-on exhibits, programs and a beautiful waterfront location with picnic sites compliment your visit.
