Mississippi Chapter

The Alzheimer's Association Mississippi Chapter is dedicated to advancing the care, support, and research to all those affected by Alzheimer's in Mississippi. We offer local support groups, community education, advocacy efforts, and fundraising events throughout the state for anyone looking to become involved.

Education Programs

Being a caregiver doesn't come with an instruction manual, but there are resources available to help. Use the free trainings and workshops on this page to gain caregiving skills and practical advice. Courses are also avaiable in Spanish.  These courses can also be presented live virtually or in person.  Email [email protected] with any speaker requests.

 

Purple Sundays

The Alzheimer’s Association and the Mississippi State Department of Health will be hosting ‘Purple Sunday’ events at churches across the state to help spread awareness and education around Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementia. Please join us by contacting Kristen White at [email protected] to host a Purple Sunday Event in your community.
 

Caregiver Resources

Our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), staffed by master’s-level clinicians and specialists, provides confidential support and information to all those affected in over 200 languages.

We host ALZConnected® , an online community where people with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers can ask questions and find support.

Community Resource Finder, a comprehensive database of programs and services, housing and care services, and legal experts, allows people to locate resources in their communities.

Alzheimer's Navigator helps guide Caregivers to answers by creating a personalized action plan and linking you to information, support and local resources.

Navigating Alzheimer's and Related Dementia:  A Roadmap for Families

Mississippi State Agency Services for Older Adults is a document that has over 40 pages of local resources including respite care, financial assistance programs, legal services and more.
