Beneath a blue sky and nestled among family housing towers, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District joined the Ministry of National Defense - Defense Installation Agency (MND-DIA), Eighth Army, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys and the Department of Defense Education Activity to break ground on a new elementary school for the installation on Sept. 7, 2023.

    Safety champion fosters a culture of safety first for Army engineers in Korea

    Maj. Priscilla Jewell has been an integral component of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, (USACE) Far East District (FED) since her arrival as a project manager at the Security, Plans and Operations Office in July 2022. Now, in addition to acting as the district’s chief of staff, Jewell is a key figure in the district’s safety program as the Army Corps of Engineers Safety and Occupational Health Management System, or CESOHMS, champion.

    Army engineers inspire young minds in South Korea through two hands-on STEM events

    No mission is too difficult and no task is too great for the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Far East District. To tackle the challenge of inspiring and educating the next generation in STEM-related fields, the district hosted a series of interactive events at two Camp Humphreys elementary schools in South Korea in May to demonstrate real-world applications of STEM concepts with over 1,000 students.

    Secretary of Army selects Far East District civilian as EEO Professional of the Year

    Stephen Brown, Far East District (FED) Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager was selected as the 2022 Secretary of the Army EEO Professional of the Year for his significant contributions to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) EEO and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility program and initiatives within the region. The award is presented to a civilian equal opportunity official who manages, directs, oversees, and implements a model EEO program with distinction.
