LEARN TO LEAD
Staying in School
The Clemson University College of Education has elevated teacher preparation in South Carolina with its residency program, offering undergraduate students a combined bachelor’s-to-master’s degree option. Through a yearlong co-teaching experience with a mentor teacher, residents further develop the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the profession and navigate its complexities. The program combats concerning national trends in teacher recruitment and retention. For William Cooper, it reaffirmed his passion and made him more confident in leading a classroom.
