I have some personal news to share: Friday was my last day at AaveCo, and today is my first day as a full-time DAO delegate at the Aave-chan Initiative (ACI). If you'd like to learn more about ACI and delegate to Aavechan.eth, please follow this link πŸ‘‡: governance.aave.com/t/aave-chan-in.

Aave revenue is high via stables positions during bulls (size and % paid are high) but thx to emode, now revenue is climbing fast with LST lev trades allowing a good and sustainable "bear"&"bull" revenue source I don't think "gradual SM transition" if gov like it will take long

in the early days, GHO safety module revenue will be tiny and CT will laugh & rant as 'not worth the gas to claim' but important is directionnality and achieve long term sustainability.

I'm not in favor of buybacks ACI vision: GHO released -> AIP to give % of revenue to Safety module Aave revenue -> pay DAO service providers, regularly vote to stream "excess" to SM in ETH slowly decay AAVE Safety incentives to mid term completely replace them by ETH&GHO yield.

great to see protocols increasingly focusing on the fundamentals of their projects $LDO should be tied to the success of @LidoFinance not a fan of buybacks tho, as it's just delayed sell pressure. But generally good direction research.lido.fi/t/proposal-int

Also Safe with 2/3 sig you have 2 Ledgers, one you keep with you, one you hide and is hard to reach. and "hotwallet" for convenience is far from perfect but good convenience/safety ratio. you'll get used to sign twice stuff. It's fine rotate keys in multisig from time to time.

I'm not the target audience of Ledger Recovery so won't use it. What they're not telling you: if you combo your ledger with MM/rabby/Frame (you should) firmware updates are not very relevant, stuff will work fine. if there's an important safety update in the future u will know.

Summary: Ledger: great product, bad leadership, terrible comms, good price Gridplus: great product, bad design (the stuff is the size of a toaster), very expensive Ngrave: seems good product, "young", a bit pricey trezor: bad product All of them: better than just Hotwallet.

Another safety module in the making Looks like AAVE economics aren't that bad after all

Lido staking proposal live to allocate revenue pool (which btw, is pretty big - 10% of all stake) and give it to tokenholders. It's like Maker, but if it was good research.lido.fi/t/proposal-int

Crypto is gaining maturity on all fronts. (project quality & sustainability, regulatory clarity...) memecoins without fundamentals will always have a role in the financial markets (trafi has their own memeStocks) but they will eventually be diluted by actual projects.

I've seen that meme/non-meme coin meme a lot on CT. The reality is different. The last cycle was the first one to introduce actual fundamentals with on-chain activity, dapps finding PMF and first "profitable" protocols without requiring subsidies via LM or block reward alone.

I was thinking this but changed my mind. Both $stETH & $rETH decided to favor growth by allowing LST (loosely limited) minting despite the large queue. This has the effect of temporarily diluting the current LST holder's overall yield, but the impact is relatively tame. I do… Show more

As staking is sticky in nature, will be hard for larger entrants to compete leader's network effect (CeFi & DeFi integrations) & "winner takes more" effect as bigger LSTs capture more of the "golden nuggets" fat blocks that boost overall yield.

Just published an ARFC proposing AaveDAO treasury getting exposure to staking yield by converting part of its wETH holdings into LSTs with $stETH & $rETH. a DAO can't operate its own node directly, but thx to synergies with LSTs, we play our smol part in ETH staking.

just fixed my local node that got db corruption. jfc, if I see anyone IRL telling me PoS makes ETH a security because it's not "work", I'll slap the brainlet.

ERRATUM: it's actually ~1m now, but still growing. So current "justified" premium is 0.5% freaking hell grafana dashboard displaying wrong data again. pls fix DMS package. I shouldn't correct the math each time.

currently you can mint rETH (deposit pool) instantly, the same for stETH. But rETH pool is finite and lido will have at some point to limit things to stay competitive (new entrant dilute yield) I think LSTs not over peg currently is artificial and temporary.

The current queue to start staking $ETH is ~7 weeks and growing. At 6% APR, it's perfectly justified to buy an LST on secondary, even at 1% premium, if the queue is two months long. How long until ppl loose patience and we start to witness premiums for stETH, rETH & other LSTs?

Unpopular opinion: Many from previous cycles raised a shitload of $ but failed to find any PMF They more often than not turn into "slow rugs" paying themselves high $ & delivering the min needed to not be accused of being scammers RFV grup while not moral, does nothing wrong.

Time to burn 100k ETH: From the merge to 100k burned: 218 days from 100k to 200k burned : 19days At the current rate, $ETH supply will go below 120M in two months. I don't own enough $stETH.
