CDC issued an order on 1/29/21 requiring the wearing of masks by travelers. People must wear masks that cover both the mouth and nose when awaiting, traveling on, or disembarking public conveyances, as well as entering transportation hubs. Because of national staff shortages due to the Omicron variant, regional transit providers are making service changes to reduce the spread of illness and exposures to COVID-19.
Commuter Connections Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program is currently in operation during the Coronavirus pandemic. There are no changes in eligibility requirements and additional safety measures are provided on the GRH website.
WMATA Metrorail:
Reduced Metrorail service is expected to continue through at least January 31, 2022 due to 7000 series railcar inspections (
more details).
Span of Service:
5am to 12am (Weekdays);
5am to 1am (Fridays);
7am to 1am (Saturdays);
7am to 12am (Sundays).
Frequency of Service:
Red Line trains run every 12 minutes;
Green Line and Yellow Line trains run every 20 minutes;
Blue Line, Orange Line, and Silver Line trains run every 24 minutes.
WMATA Metrobus: Metrobus will reduce service on weekdays to a Saturday schedule with additional trips on some routes, which is roughly 75% of regular Metrobus service. Bus operators will be permitted to bypass customers not wearing masks for their health and safety (more details).

ART: All ART routes are operating regular service.
ART 72 is operating on a modified weekday schedule.
DASH: DASH, which is 100% fare free, is operating on an enhanced Saturday schedule that started January 3, 2022.
These adjustments are effective on weekdays:
-Lines 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36A/B will operate on regular Saturday schedules.
-Lines 102, 103 and 104 will operate on regular weekday schedules.
Fairfax Connector: Operating full service on all routes with some additional service enhancements.
Loudoun County: Operating limited Commuter Services to the Pentagon/Crystal City/Rosslyn. Please see new schedule.
OmniRide: Expanded and restored some services system wide to include a modified D-400 (Dale City - Mark Center) with added stop to support Lake Ridge customers.
VRE: Operating regular service.
MARC: Operating regular service.
