Areas Of Expertise: Doors& Windows Installs, Interior Painting, Drywall Repairs
"Humberto is an all-around general contractor able to paint, plumb, build decks, etc. Anything you want, he can do it. He's been painting in particular for 20 years, and has seen it all. We requested a quote to paint a bedroom, bathroom, and two and a half accent walls. He quoted $325. The day before, we asked him to also install a toilet and a vanity countertop. No problem. He arrived at 9:45 am and left at 8 pm. He brought his son to help paint. In addition to what we'd asked him to do, he cut through the bathroom drywall in two places to show the pipes were leaking, replaced the leaking pipes, re-drywalled, painted the dry wall, hung our mirror, took away the old toilet and countertop for disposal, and even, at the last moment, installed a little bit of new tile. Total price for all that? $630. And when I was $20 short, he happily took $610. We had worried that his lowball quote might mean lower quality, but at that price, we could afford to make a mistake. Not at all. He performed fantastic quality work. We absolutely would recommend to anyone looking for a quality contractor at a literal fraction of the price of his competitors. Note that Humberto does speak broken English, so while he understands English, his responses are often in a mixture of Spanish and English. This doesn't detract from his quality!"

"On time, on budget, did many many many extras with little or no extra charge like roof tile repairs, fridge and shower repairs. Very good craftspeople. He looked at the style of my family room-- exposed beams and industrial hardware and he matched that style on my deck-- natural wood, industrial bolts and gorgeous copper fittings. This was all on his own initiative. He is proactive and very skilled in any task he took on. He owns his own company and I see the difference from other contractors who don't directly do the work but oversee. His quote was an 1/8 of the costs quoted by a big renovation company and they were going to demolish my deck and porch where he replaced it and kept the pilings. I am so happy I found Miguel and his team. I will only use them for any home repair or remodel!!!"

"Lucas and his family did an amazing job repairing the drywall in my home after I had all the pipes in my home replaced with new copper piping. There were 18 large holes put into the walls and ceilings. Lucas insured all the holes were perfectly drywalled to a smooth finish and then repainted the walls. Now you cannot tell at all that there were holes throughout the house - it looks like it did before the repiping! Also, he even touched up places in the wall where the previous owners had damaged the wall (I didn't ask him to, he just did it to my surprise and delight). Also, he had to work around some plumbing delays and was super accomodating. He insured that even with the plumbing delays his project finished on time! Great, great, great company! I strongly recommend them."

Find Local Interior and Exterior Residential Painting Companies in Arlington
Hiring the correct paint professional in Arlington for your residential painting job can result in a big difference in the results of the project. Even if you wish to renew the exterior of your house to raise street appeal or change up interior decor with updated paint in the bedroom or living room, finding the proper painting professional is the first step.
You can get just about anything you require to locate a professional residential painter at HomeAdvisor. Start by entering your ZIP code and answering a few questions regarding your possible painting project.
We utilize that information to pare down the results so we can provide an individualized list of potential residential painting professionals in your neighborhood. From that selection, you can go over reviews and view pictures of projects that painting professionals have completed in the past. That information helps you write up a final list of possibilities who are a fit for your project. Afterwards, you can contact companies to get estimates.
What to Seek When Contracting a Painting Company
Finding the greatest painting business for your standards and job is a great way to ensure the highest possibility of success. Research more about some of the points you should consider when employing a painting contractor in Arlington.
One of the first steps to take in order to hire a suitable painting contractor for the project is to learn as much about the painting professional as possible before requesting an estimate. Browse feedback and reviews, take a look at the painting professional’s website, and look through the company’s Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter posts to see what former customers had to say about the painter’s work.
Frequently asked questions
Painters usually price a job by the square feet of the project. Sometimes they’ll include flat fees for fixed expenses, like overhead and permits.
We make finding a painter easy. Simple use our directory to find a painter. Here you can browse local pros, check their reviews and do your first screening without ever having to call. We’ve also prescreened all the pros for you, to give you peace of mind.
Interior painting makes for a doable DIY project. You can save some money and get a real sense of accomplishment by doing this yourself. And, with the right prep work – covering, taping and scraping – it’s fairly forgiving. But it takes a lot of time to move furniture, tape trim, prep the surface and cover your floor, let alone apply the actual paint. Instead, save yourself the time and hassle and find a local interior painter.
Leave exterior painting to the pros. Not only do you need to worry about the type and quality of the paint, you’ll also likely need a ladder and considerably more prep work. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.
- Do your research. Understand what to expect and what to look for in a pro. Look at paint types, prices and costs.
- Interior home painting costs $1,000-$2,800
- Exterior painting costs $1,700-$4,100
- Painting a ceiling costs $150-$350
- Painting cabinets costs $350-$1,200
- Trim painting costs $500-$1,500
- Calculate paint coverage
- Call pros for site inspections and estimates. Always get three to five estimates.
- Check references, compare quotes, look at past work. After you have estimates in hand, do one final pass to compare the contractors.
- Sign a contract with the pro of your choice. You might need to make a down payment, usually 25% to 50% of the total project cost to cover material costs, but not all pros require this. Don’t pay for the entire project upfront.
- A complete inspection. Each pro takes a walk around your home to evaluate the condition of your current paint, the size of the job and any obstacles for accessing the site. They do this to see how much prep work they’ll need and estimate how long the job will take. The more thorough the inspection, the more accurate the quote.
- Color consultation. Expect each contractor to have varying color options and suggestions. However, you have the final say.
- Listen to the pro – they’re experts after all – but don’t get pushed into a color combination or finish type that you don’t want. Understand the different exterior paints or interior paint choices before your pro arrives.
- A rough estimate or complete quote. Finishing contractors vary here. Usually, they can quote straightforward projects on the spot. But some may need to take it back to their shop to run numbers and give you a detailed estimate with costs broken out. Neither method is better than the other, but just make sure to get multiple quotes.
- How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. It’s hard for a service business to stay in business if they don’t do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
- Can you supply a written estimate and contract? Never use a painter who isn’t willing to put his work in writing.
