  Working with Barbara and her team at Elza B Design has been a joy from beginning to end. We recently renovated and redecorated our twenty-year-old home. When we originally built, our children were in elementary school. Now they are all adults; we have a grandchild; and our house needs have changed as we enjoy frequent visits from our growing family. Barbara expertly helped me to execute the vision I had for the house. She did not impose any particular style upon us. Rather, she listened, looked closely at what we already had that we loved, and then collaboratively helped me to pull together a cohesive design that is reflective of our family’s tastes and personality. Barbara’s background in fine art was immensely helpful as we incorporated rich, saturated color throughout the house, balancing rooms with strong colors and vibrant wallpaper patterns with simple, understated spaces. Each room beautifully flows into the next. The Elza B team brought wonderful resources to the table, from furniture manufacturers, lighting sources, to wallpaper and fabric selections. Her team’s strong relationships with vendors helped us to get the project done beautifully, efficiently, and as cost effectively as possible.   We hired Mill Design and Blinds for the second time after purchasing a new home, and it was an easy decision for us! Once again the team assessed our needs, visited the home and took detailed measurements, and made recommendations that were just perfect! It was a large job too - as we needed blinds for every window in our home - but they made it easy. And now that they're installed, we love the new blinds - especially the sliding blind for our patio door! The installation was so efficient as well, as they removed the old blinds and even found a vendor who was willing to receive them and give them a second life. The guys are super friendly and professional, as it's a family business and they love what they do. They were respectful of our home and were done in no time. And it completely transformed the space when they were done! My wife and I wouldn't hire anyone else for this workshow more

  From the very onset I developed a great deal of trust in NK&B based on the people who helped bring my renovation project to fruition. My Project Designer (and early project facilitator), Malaika, has a strong sense of style and was able to guide my selections of cabinets, flooring, and accents. She guided me through choices that were in my financial comfort zone. The new extended and widened kitchen peninsula is my dream pasta making counter; the subtle, gray-veined quartz countertops take the design to another higher level. Malaika helped me choose a floor covering that is perfect for my sunny and large multi-room kitchen space. The project management under Dean and Jason really confirmed my belief that NK&B is a reliable, competent, and timely working organization. My circumstances were such that I couldn’t be at home for most of the construction, and yet through phone and texts, I was able to stay abreast of the construction. They were terrific at keeping me informed of the ongoing status of the project. Project management selected competent sub-contractors where necessary. I am very satisfied with the cost and quality of the entire project. It helps to have a good understanding of desired outcomes and likely outlays. NK&B Project Estimator, Dave, did not low-ball the work estimate. He was thorough in his assessment of the needed work. The final walk-through punch list was completed efficiently and with great accommodation. When I returned to Boston after my extended family leave, it was like walking into a new place! I’ve lived here for thirty years but my “retirement nest” couldn’t be more beautiful. NK&B is the real deal! They might not be the biggest in Boston, but trust me, they are one of the best!   Fantastic. Umberto was very collaborative with my partner and I, taking the time to get to know us and help us figure out a design plan. He then helped us through 2 rounds of bidding to get to a scope that was within our budget. He then helped with the construction as lots of issues came up.   When we started the process of expanding and modifying our home, we thought that the generation of plans would be nothing more than a quick meeting with an architect, measurements, and some blueprints, amounting to a business transaction to meet the minimum criteria for what we were asking for. With GDA’s process however, Umberto made a point of getting to know us, and that has led to a house beyond what we ever imagined possible. Through the discovery process, Umberto was able to identify our passion for medieval architecture and blend it into a design that also enhances the house as a whole, which we thought impossible for a Cape house in Massachusetts! What started off as half a joke about castles and towers has become a beautiful stonework tower element and updated take on an old-world library that both complement and enhance the house. We could not be more delighted with the finished result. The personalized approach that Umberto takes is so refreshing. He did not just see our house as a building to modify, but as a home that real people live in. The attention to detail cannot be overstated. From the echoes of Old World elements down to thoughtful storage space, Umberto and GDA truly added immense value with the discovery process. Waking up in our new home is like a dream.   Finding Right Angle Kitchens was the best thing that happened for our renovation. Not only did Ken provide us with beautiful, high quality cabinets and granite countertops, but he was instrumental in helping us lay out the kitchen, and went even further by coming up with a great approach for the open first floor plan, including where to put a bathroom.   I originally hired Felicia to clean and organize my basement. It was an unusable disaster. It took us about 15 hours but when it was done, it was AMAZING. She organized it for ME, so that I could keep it organized and clean. It was such a powerful experience I hired her to do every room in the house. It was the best thing I've ever done for myself. I now know where everything is and I put it back where it belongs so I can find it again. Sounds so simple but it's not easy to do on your own. For me it was impossible to do on my own. Felicia works with you to make a plan that works for the way you think so you can stick to the plan. She also has an art background so things are beautiful as well as organized.
