OPM has authorized the use of an emergency leave transfer program (ELTP) for federal employees adversely affected by the 2023 Mississippi severe storms, straight-line winds, and tornadoes.

Voice of America’s Asian American Changemakers series premiered its final episode recently featuring the work of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and the leadership of Director Kiran Ahuja. Asian American Changemakers is a character driven docuseries highlighting the lives and experiences of Asian Americans in the political and public arena.

On International Transgender Day of Visibility, OPM released Guidance Regarding Gender Identity and Inclusion in the Federal Workplace, an update to existing guidance originally released in 2015.

OPM announced today free government-wide trainings for all Federal employees to help them succeed in a hybrid work environment. The trainings, titled “Thriving in a Hybrid Environment,” will support Federal employees and equip them to develop and implement hybrid work environment best practices within their agencies. OPM will offer twelve in-person and six virtual training sessions. 

OPM released a new memorandum today detailing a vision for the future of the workforce: a Federal government with a workforce that is inclusive, agile and engaged, with the right skills to enable mission delivery. 

OPM, Department of Labor, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) have developed and launched a new portal on USAJOBS for prospective Federal interns. Located at intern.usajobs.gov, the Federal Internship Portal is a one-stop shop for prospective interns to find opportunities and apply for internships in the Federal government.

OPM released its inaugural report: Government-wide DEIA: Our Progress and Path Forward to Building a Better Workforce for the American People. This report highlights accomplishments aligned with the Government-wide Strategic Plan to Advance DEIA in the Federal Workforce and preview priorities for 2023 consistent with Executive Order (EO) 14035.

OPM has announced the Finalists for this year’s Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program. Of the more than 10,000 individuals from around the world who applied for the program, 850 Finalists were chosen. The large number of applications to this competitive program marks a record number of applications over the past ten years.
