District Commander LTC Ramon Brigantti addresses USACE and contractors during a ceremony to recognize 300,000 hours worked without a lost time accident. USACE is remediating radioactive material buried at the Chambers Works site, a more than 100 year old chemical manufacturing facility.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is starting a major repair project at the St. Georges Bridge in Delaware. Work involves closing the bridge to all traffic starting in April 2023.

USACE is kicking off a process to revise the 1975 Blue Marsh Lake Master Plan. The Master Plan is the strategic land use management document that guides the comprehensive management and development of all of all recreational, natural, and cultural resource throughout the life of a project.

In February 2023, USACE completed a revision of the Prompton Dam and Reservoir Master Plan.

USACE and its contractor Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company completed dredging and beachfill operations in Ocean City, NJ in February 2023 and will begin work in Avalon, NJ in late March 2023. Work is designed to reduce the risk of storm damages to infrastructure.
