Corps, partners break ground on new Simulations Center at Fort Irwin
Senior leaders with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Fort Irwin broke ground March 23 on a new Simulations Center at the installation, which is home to the National Training Center. “It has been a 10-year journey to get us here, but this is a critical inflection point in Fort Irwin’s history, and, more importantly, in where we are going as an Army,” said Brig. Gen. Curtis Taylor, commanding general of the National Training Center. “It just so happens that this project came to fruition in just the right time.”

About 280 people attended the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s Business Opportunities Open House March 8 in Rosemead. The open house is a signature event for the Corps’ LA District, for both small and large businesses. It allows direct dialogue with senior leaders, project managers and those looking to do business with the Corps of Engineers and the federal government.

A draft integrated letter report and programmatic environmental assessment has been developed to determine the economic and environmental impacts of federal participation in state-managed watercraft inspection programs within the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Utah to protect the Upper Colorado River Basin. Comments on the draft Programmatic EA will be accepted during the public review period from April 3, to April 17, 2023.
