NATO Military Committee visits Allied Joint Force Command Naples

From 30 to 31 March 2023, the NATO Military Committee visited Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples in Italy. The Allied and Invitee Military Representatives were briefed on JFC Naples’ current and future priorities alongside the main deliverables ahead of the Vilnius Summit. The visit is part of the adoption of the Concept for the Deterrence and Defence of the Euro-Atlantic Area and the development of the Regional Plans.

Chair of the NATO Military Committee: Italy is a valued and resilient Ally

From 28 to 29 March 2023, Admiral Rob Bauer, Chair of the NATO Military Committee visited Italy upon the invitation of Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chief of Defence of the Italian Armed Forces. Admiral Bauer met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Antonio Tajani, Minister of Defence, Mr. Guido Crosetto, and the diplomatic and military advisors and counsellors for the President and Prime Minister of Italy. The Chair also delivered the lectio magistralis at the Center for Higher Defense Studies, where he spoke on the importance of societal resilience and of upholding the international rules-based order.

NATO military delegation visits partners Australia and New Zealand to discuss engagement in the Indo-Pacific region

From 20 to 24 March 2023, a military delegation from NATO’s Cooperative Security Division (CS), led by its Director, Lieutenant General Francesco Diella travelled to Australia and New Zealand to meet with senior military and political representatives to discuss current partnerships and opportunities to foster stronger cooperation going forward.
