    Nicole Morin

    Nicole Morin

In 1985, 8-year-old Nicole Morin mysteriously vanished from her apartment building in Toronto. She was set to meet a friend in the lobby to go to the pool but never made it. The friend talked to Nicole on the intercom system and waited for her to come down. After a period of time, she buzzed Nicole's apartment, asking her mother where she was.
Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the mysterious disappearance of Nicole Morin. The police went to all 400+ units of the building and entered if no one was home in an attempt to find Nicole. They pieced together what few details they could of her day, but no one they talked to had heard or seen anything unusual. It became, at the time, the largest police search in Toronto history.

    The Mad Gasser of Mattoon

    The Mad Gasser of Mattoon

In Mattoon, Illinois, in the mid-1940s, many people claimed they were made sick by a chemical pumped or sprayed into their homes as a gas. The gasser, or the person people imagined was the gasser, was given several monikers, including “the Mad Gasser of Mattoon” Or “The Phantom Anesthetist.”
Join Mike and Morf as they discuss this mysterious case of the alleged Mad Gasser of Mattoon. No physical evidence of any gas was ever actually found, however, leading many to doubt the claims of all of these people who claimed to be victims. So was there really some maniac on the loose gassing people’s homes, or were these events the figment of people’s imaginations? Interestingly, a similar series of events occurred about a decade earlier in Botetourt County, Virginia.

Introducing COLD: The Search for Sheree

Sheree Warren left her job in Salt Lake City on a mild October evening in 1985. She told a coworker she was headed to meet her estranged husband, Charles Warren, at a car dealership. But she never made it, Sheree vanished. When her Page 2 of 2 car mysteriously surfaced weeks later, hundreds of miles away in Las Vegas, no one could say how it got there.
When a young mother disappears under unexplained circumstances, police always turn suspicious eyes towards the husband. And although there was distrust around Charles Warren, he wasn’t the only suspect when Sheree went missing. She also had a boyfriend, a former cop named Cary Hartmann, who lived a sinister double life.
Season three follows two suspects– men who both raised suspicion for investigators. But with two strong persons of interest with competing facts and evidence, it muddied the murder investigation. This season, host Dave Cawley, digs into the lives of these two men, the details of the case and examines the intersections between domestic abuse and sexual violence. The COLD team seeks to answer the question: what really happened to Sheree Warren?

    The Strip Search Caller

    The Strip Search Caller

A series of disturbing & frightening phone calls targeted dozens of businesses and people over an extended period of time. These calls were placed all over the country, and the person on the other end posed as a law enforcement official. What this caller instructed people to do to others was not only wrong and humiliating, it was, in many instances, criminal on the part of both the caller and the person who answered the phone.
Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the person known as The Strip Search Caller. He often targeted fast-food restaurants and told managers that one of their employees, and sometimes even customers, had stolen. The caller then convinced the managers to strip search the so-called thief and many other degrading acts. The police narrowed in on a prime suspect, but could they put together enough evidence to convince a jury of his guilt?
